You delve some more into drink encyclopedia and datalinks on their history and preparation.

1234USY.1d/1m.1020h

Huh. All liquors currently sold at SRC Outposts were created within the last 50 to 200 years - except 'Wóda'. Its origins are traced back to Earth, and apparently this clear spirit was drank in one form or another for the last two thousand years.

As it turns out, some Humans (especially those space-born) aren't very good with smells. Due to the sugars and esters present in certain drinks, they've got problems distinguishing 'fruity' and 'sweet' flavors from one another, finding sweet and fruity drinks extra sweet compared to others.

You stretch in your command chair and peek onto the sensor display - silence.

A) Time to read even MORE liquor encyclopedias.
B) About time I do some station maintenance.
C) Seems like a good time to grab the cleaning tools and wipe the tables.
D) A good moment to explore oneself - mind and body.

Ah dang its Noyemi!

And she brings a pic of nice tiger lady, what's not to like?

Is she secretly the overlady of the Chinese triad? She gives that vibe, lol

A) Enough terminal tinkering for now.
B) Time for more drink and synthol education.
C) Do some file management on the local database.

You read the entries in database about mixing drinks and synthol types and some bartender lingo, too.

You briefly wonder why none of the previous bartenders bothered to download the drink mixes.

What to do?

A) Download the entire drink mix database.
B) Leave it be; we can connect to the mainframe on-demand, after all.
C) Continue reading about drinks and whatnot.

You run through the contract and specifications of your job here.

That was quite a lecture. Fortunately, not sensor pings meant that you could concentrate on the text.

The more important bits to remember:

Code: [Select]
1. Refueling stations are automated and controlled by SRC Refueling AI. Transfers and purchases are automated and therefore do not count into your earnings.
2. You can earn Credits by selling synthols and mixing drinks.
3. You're supposed to earn 9600 Credits every 0.1 of a year (every space month), or 266.(6) Credits per space day.
4. Anything that breaks down must be tended to you or forwarded to the SRC listening posts so that they send a repair crew.
5. On-board torpedo launchers and photon cannons can be put on auto or manually crewed by you.
6. As implied by the above, you're responsible for defense of the station and its valuable fuel storages.

What do you do now?

A) Explore your mind and body.
B) Do a cleanup of station sections and the bar.
C) Read the databse entries on synthols and bartending topics.
D) Do maintenance on the station software.

Spoiler: EMPLOYEE FILE (click to show/hide)

1234 USY*

Outpost 254813...

Your new workplace! Your new home! An island in the ocean of space! A fortified castle in the middle of the lawless wilderness!

The emergency travel pod (SRC couldn't afford you a liner ticket) docks within the station's cargo bay and you disembark.

The station is in the state of slight disrepair. You quickly connect your fingers to the computer interface and it gives you summary of the status... and everything's seems in order? Then again, it is corporate software we're talking about.

You log into the sensor software and there's not a single ping of impulse drive within range. No wonder; the system at which edge's you're located, Delta Aries, is a white dwarf with a belt of icy, mineral-less asteroids. That's very little to offer for prospectors and settlers alike. Few Jump Gates dot the outskirts of the system, but the traffic is relatively low.

It might be hours, days, or even weeks (hopefully not) until you get your first customer - if they're interested in drinking and not just automated refuelling, that's it.

What do you do?

A) Do maintenance on the station software.
B) Do a cleanup of station sections and the bar.
C) Explore your mind and body.
D) Read the databse entries on synthols and bartending topics.
E) Read about your work contract and credit quota of synthol sales.

"We do have an Alvadan flag in cloth storage... unless Claude did find the time to sort through it and throw away old stuff. Then again, who's gonna notice that cloth is dirty and threadbare in middle of the night?"

"Good one, Lysander." Ethan raised his hand to, seemingly, pat Lysander on head, but just gave him a brief shoulderpat instead.

"We will be going with Lysander's idea, everyone."

These are nice but I can't really choice with a coin flip ;vc

Once upon a time, you were a Drone.

Specifically bred and modified since conception until birth, then carefully brought up to serve a singular purpose. Well...

...that's until the Great Galactic War. EXO-LUMINA Corp's rule ended, the democracy returned (except in places where brutal military dictatorships took over), and the New Galactic Federation is trying stardate-by-stardate to restore human civilization from its knees.

But the instability and brutality of the past 25 years is gone. With the New Galactic Federation's Basic Rights Charter, you're no longer a Drone - you're now legally free person, and an adult, at that.

Homeless, without family, drifting without purpose, and at brink of starvation, you've applied for the first job you could find on the constantly shifting Job Network.

Bartending for Synthol Refueling Conglomerate, at the Galactic Refueling Outpost 254813, Aries Sector.
