As we amass our fleet at a sector between Zakdorn and Zeta Alpha, our scientists got another level of construction research completed.
Zakdorn and Acamar, thanks to our continous funding, are able to churn cruiser after cruiser. Even Betazed shipyards are contributing, and already supplied the combined fleet of Federation with an Ambassador and two Oberths.

Two turns later, Klingons break our non-aggression treaty and Cardassians declare war against us.


Zeta Alpha. It will be the system in which we will defend our Federation from Borg.


Our fleet. 25 ships, crewed by 17460 brave men and women.
Nrdl's Fleet: 7 Ambassador-class (*Exeter, Shelton, Strong, Wilson, Gravina, Winslow, Madison) and 1 Galaxy-class (Lazarev)
Hostergaard's Fleet: 7 Ambassador-class (Thorn, Champlin, Mac Donald, Excalibur, Zhukov, Gandhi, Velasco) and 2 Galaxy-class (*Sumatra, De Ruyter)
3rd Fleet: 5 Ambassador-class (Horatio, Zarnitza, Harding, Ambassador, Iroquis), 1 Galaxy-Class (*Makarov) and 2 Oberth-class (Stingray, Baraccuda)

Last briefing on the ships, and then, the warp engines have been put on ready. Ready to warp to Zeta Alpha...

...and then, USS Martynov brings dire news to us.


Borg Cube has been spotted at outskirts of Federation space, in Durenia system. We asked for confirmation if it's not Zeta Alpha Cube that fled there.

We received confirmation shortly afterwards.

It is a Second Borg Cube.

Few more turns pass without anything interesting, so I decided to post diplomacy chart. As you can see, Romulans and Ferengi just formalized an alliance. This happens a lot in my games.
Nrdl's strike fleet shall be positioned at Borka, and when outpost at Selay is finished - hopefully we will be able to strike the very heart of the Empire: Romulus system.


Just as our scientists design Multifrequency beam technology, we receive news that Romulans signed affiliation treaty with the Cardassians. This means there's three-power alliance slowly forming above us. Bitterly, our diplomats have been sent to Qo'nos to negotiate peace with Klingons. Maybe we will even supply them with credits to support their somewhat rustic fleet and inspire them to expand their empire.


Maybe this will do the trick?


Oh and this happened as well. They have three light cruisers at their homeworld. Once we build special structure of theirs - Research Comittee - we shall be pioneers in new technologies.


Yes. It is time. Cpt.Nrdl's fleet has been ordered to set new course...

...Romulus.


Romulus proved to be empty of any targets, while we get this scientific breakthrough. Our scouts can reach even further now.
Also, Husnock Raider arrived at Selay system. That can be trouble.


Ferengi colony ship was intercepted by Cpt.Hostergaard. As Ferengi are allies of Romulans, this meeting ended how you can see it - in destruction of enemy vessel.
In the meanwhile, an armed convoy of 2 Ambassadors, a colony and transport ship depart from Angosia to the Gamma Hydra system, which shall be colonized.


USS Thorn (Ambassador-class) is completed at Acamar, and USS Lazarev (Galaxy-class) is finished at Zakdorn. In the same turn, we face demands from Ferengi and Romulans, both demanding obscene amounts of money and the latter demanding to cede disputed territories to them. We decline, of course, while we also slowly, bit by bit, fun Klingon Empire.

One turn later, we receive what we were preparing for in last several dozens of turns.

Cpt.Nrdl has been ordered to patrol area near Chalna and Selay, while Cpt.Hostergaard shall receive reinforcements - Thorn and Lazarev - and proceed to wipe out one certain ltitle system that was always a problem in our side.

And then, at Turn 190...

We lose contact with the remote colony at Pelleus system. All communications are jammed by some powerful technology...

Seconds before that, our monitoring station at Zeta Alpha receives a brief distress call...

Well in this intermission, only RAM goes in

Tyler passed the laser cutter and climbed down the torso and the legs of Unicorn, jumping down right in front of Kira. He brushed his hands against his suit.

"Spare Stargazer? Sure, I think we have one or two in the hangar's storage. We're busy with repairs now but rest assured we can get the other thing running in less than five minutes, if we have to. And let's hope we don't."

Few turns pass during which nothing happens, whilst our bribes build up relationships with Selay and Trill.
And then, this happens:


They miss this big outpost at Midos, but on other hand, we don't destroy a single destroyer ourselves. Cpt.Nrdl's strike group has been called from Romulan space and ordered to hunt down the Romulans in our sectors. In the same time, USS De Ruyter, Galaxy-class starship is constructed in Zakdorn and sent to Midos for protection of local outpost.


Just as our first attempt at destroying the four destroyers fail (they warped out under cloak), our scientists get us further in Biology and Tal Shiar managed to strike a blow against us. They are annoying in their rather successful attempts.


This happens after our second attempt to destroy Romulan raiders. Oh, and Pelleus systme has been colonized and an outpost there was finished, allowing us to reach further 'east' on galaxy map.


Our scouts visit a system inhabited by Cardassians, the mysterious aliens of that outpost near Trill system. In the same time, our scientists push our Physics knowledge onto another level, allowing us to build advanced type of food replicators, as well as charge collectors. They give +100 energy points when build, but you can put them only on arctic worlds.
Turn later, another hopeless Romulan transport ends destroyed in Chalna.


We managed to seal an indefinite non-aggression treaty with the Cardassians, affiliation treaty with Trill, and as you can see, Selay joined the Federation! Huzzah!
Yet, Romulan raiding issue still remains. Niether our outpost can destroy them, neither our cruisers catch up and pulverize them. This is getting ridiculous.


Two turns later we have breakthrough in Computer sciences. Andromede and Sandhusky part ways, to explore lands far east from our regions, as well as sectors close to Cardassian space. USS Makarov, third warship of Galaxy class, is completed at Zakdorn shipyards.
In the meanwhile, Cpt.Nrdl unsuccessfully tries to get rid of Romulan destroyers, three times. Just, aaaargh.
For now, le ragequit :V

NRDL's fleet shall be visiting accesible systems often to harass Romulan operations. There's no real fleet available for Hostergaard beside his own Galaxy and two cruisers guarding Chalna system.
