Life Advice / DLL problems
« on: July 29, 2011, 01:11:50 pm »
So, the more programs/games I install, especially the indie/obscure ones, the more dll's I need to download/update/fix.

This isn't that hard to do but there's this certain program, emulator you might name it, that required like 10 of gimp-related dll's to run and is not even running properly after installation.

So... how can I has dll fixings? Is there a reliable program that would browse my PC and show what I have to download/fix when it comes to dll's?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your fort?

After Virsarvesh (Starfurnace) and Koganolon (Boatgear), with the last one crumbling just after one year of operation, I made a new fortress.

Numtosid, 'Windarmor', is on a desert, between hills, with magma pipe and brook to the side. This time I will fucking drown enemies in magma and train my hammerdwarves into champions of bone destruction.

Koganolon, a 1 year old fortress, is done.

First I accidentally dug in wrong piece of wet stone and there goes lower bedrooms and food storage, taking my only steel-wielding recruits and few civvies - actually half of the fort.

Three days later, shruk siege that rapes every civilian and unarmored recruits. The lone survivor was a woodcutter who managed to defend himself from two enemies, and then ran out of the fortress into the wild.

I think I broke personal record of losing a fort :P

Koganolon, a new fortress at 40d mod, didn't have a great start.

3 days after embark, cave-in killed my only miner.

Then, had to deal with triple aquifer but lucked out, what with two clusters of mica one under other.

Half a year later, my main crafter/leader is killed in shruk siege.

The evil ocean... really seems to toss evil stuff at me and my dwarves.
