Terrain:
Swamp tiles (three tiny pools) grant -5 Evasion. Any non-Mounted/non-Levitation unit starting their Turn on Swamp tiles receives -1 MOV penalty; mounted units -2 MOV (fliers are exempt unless dismounted, levitation mages laugh at the puny swamps).

Here is the Sol System and the Earth itself. Still some work to do before we really get rid of the detritus of the past.

But the bright future awaits us! The shipyards at Sol Station are already constructing a Kelvin-class Science Ship.

Mrs.Fedorova won't be able chart everything by herself, after all.

Our scientists are hard at work already, and while it looks like it will be ages before we do any progress, it will not.

I'm sure the nearby stars will provide for our expansion!

Mrs.Fedorova arrives at Procyon, bringing proof to the Hyperlane Disparity theory, which holds that the 'hyperlanes' are random connections, not ones based on length or proximity of stars.

Unfortunately for us, Procyon has no habitable worlds - still, more than enough places for USS Hawking to survey.

Our second Science Ship, USS Darwin, has been constructed, but we're awaiting the Leadership Plebiscite Bureau to finish gathering Credits for our next surveyor-Scientist.

Mr.Schneider has suprisingly offered to lead the ship for half the usual payment, and the LP Bureau decided him a winner.

While Mrs.Fedorova will go around the 'south', Mr.Schneider will go 'north', the duo neatly charting our immediate neighbourhood before venturing further outwards.

What do you know, brotha!! Alpha Centauri does have habitable planets!

I think some of the astronomers at Oxford Stellar Observatory will require early retirement, for their observations turned out to be whole buncha bullsh-

I mean, failures.

MAH BROTHA! ANCIENT XENOS!!

Alpha Centauri turns out to be a goldmine for all the xeno stuff, it seems!

A new Science Ship will fetch a new scientist there to excavate the 'Grunur' relics.

The knowledge of ancient xenos has been made public by state-sponsored media.

Everyone on Earth is abuzz with the news. Hopefully it will spur more youth to join the ranks of USoE!

It sure has bolstered our pioneer spirit! Ah, it's like in them Old Centuries, brotha!

Our people will boldly settle where no one has settled (except aboriginals, if there ever will be any).

Mr.Schneider has a bit of backlog when it comes to surveying Alpha Centauri.

Mrs.de Castelnau, our former Physics researcher (replaced by someone more specialized) shall render help.

Mrs.Fedorova becomes revered as a hero in scientific circles - she has confirmed existence of Dark Matter!

And she even proved that it exists near the black holes; the Xulbak's Maw _{(alright, brothers, come out straight, whose kid was allowed to name this thing??)}

Mah brotha, them anomalies are nothing to laff about!

Hopefully this one will get us some resources or research, we gotta start expanding!

On Earth, we're dealing with industrial lag and the slums.

More peeps require more jobs, after all! Can't have beggars on them streets while we colonize outer space, brotha!

Eyy, brotha, it seems that the Smithsonian Institute wants some hot xeno action going!

It seems Alpha Centauri was a hub of xeno activity in them ancient times, brotha!

I wonder why. This also makes me wonder - if them ancient xenos have been so frequent in here, where are the actual xenos of the nowadays?

Starfleet has asked us for additional Porcupine-class vessels, and we agreed to sponsor some. Just in case.

Mr.Schneider has found not one, but two habitable worlds in Yakury system!

Unfortunately, one is frozen hellhole, and other is scorching hellhole.

Meanwhile, Mrs.Fedorova is charting Sirius.

The strange displacement of it compared to Bernard's Star and Alpha Centauri further proves that hyperlanes have nothing to do with actual stellar distances.

Both Alpha Centauri and Procyon have been claimed by United States of Earth!

Mrs.de Castelnau can now begin excavations of the Grunur site.

It is time, brotha, it is time we move out into the other stars!

Obviously, the destination of the first colony ship will be Alpha Centauri III.

Mrs.Fedorova and crew of USS Hawking are breaking new scientific grounds with each surveyed star!

That woman is claiming all accolades, hopefully nothing bad will come out of it.

Whatever that dang machine is doing, we will make use of it!

One way or another!

Dubbed as 'the weirdest binary of the century', the Lavascio system, entered by USS Darwin and Mr.Schneider, will hopefully provide some interesting research opportunities.

Unwilling to name it simply 'Alpha Centauri Prime', the Landing Party Bureau (LPB, not to be confused with Leadership Plebiscite Bureau, the other LPB), turned to the public.

Somewhat predictably, Latin names were on top of the virtua-net polls, with 'Terra Nova' being the 1st by wide margin.

So be it! The new world, a new home for humanity, shall be Terra Nova Colony! The landing site was chosen far away from Grunur Ruins, as to not disturb Mrs.de Chatelnau's excavations.

This momentous occasion calls for a celebration and perhaps a monument.

Yes, a monument! A quick plebiscite has pointed the monument's location as Detroit.

Hopefully it will bring the city out of two centuries of stagnation. Maybe Detroit will even become a new cultural center of the Western Hemisphere? Who knows.
