Hello! :3

Welcome in Complicated Mecha Game, tactical game about, you guessed it right, Mecha. With guns and cannons and missile launchers!

The future world has been devastated.

Russian Federation was first to go - poverty, starvation and crime ravaged the country at the end of the Third World War, and the country succumbed. It shared it's demise with a lot of smaller countries across the globe. The use of Nuclear Weapons has been forbidden by Treaty of Rome in 2051, and the remaining powers turned their eyes to the newest discovery:

Mechanical Mobile Suits, or 'Mecha' for short.

In the late fifties, the plasma has been at last tamed by the military, and the mass-production of Mecha rendered large armies rather useless, bar for peace-keeping missions - now you need few robots, few pilots and a small group of people supporting them to capture almost anything.

Besides few small skirmishes with brigands, partisans or revolutionaries, the world was at peace... However...

The Meltdown of Madrid Nuclear Reactor #1, at 5th May 2068, was a terrible tragedy. Every country, that was able to send help, offered it to the Spain, but quite soon the terrible truth surfaced - it was sabotage directed by the very President of United States, Nicholay Magnum!

The world was thrown into uproar, and it seems it was the beginning of a new World War.

1st January, 2069.
The Trinity of Northern America, lead by the Democratic-Republicans Party is at war with European Union, at last freely showing it's power-hungry face. And the Far East Confederation, under the 'wise' rule of Il-Chang-Kim, decided to take the opportunity and snatch Thailand and surroundings islands from the Southern Hemisphere Alliance. And the fifth remaining power, Arabian Kingdom, is very secretive lately...

Now, it's 3th April, 2069, at noon...

A tall man, propably in his late fourties, rubbed his chin, while his deep blue eyes scanned six documents on his desk. Six soldiers have shown above average fighting skill, and the London HQ decided to sent those grunts to him.

Commander Alan Weissritter.

He sighed at the sight of new email on his laptop, and after opening it, his lips twisted a bit with grimace. Those newcomers were already there.

Well, what he could do? Raise them into specialized Mecha pilots, what else!

He briefly looked through the documents again, just to make sure he remembered their faces and names properly...

Six players! I accept six players and no more *for now*!

It's Tactical game - Rules, weapons and all that stuff will be shown after we will have 6 willing guys!

Example dossier:

Name: John Johnski (and forum user name)

Urghhh!

First of all, turn on this music.

Nitemerith again (40d).

So... I made a militia from few fresh immigrants. Decided it will be fun if they kill few mammoths, so I've sent after them. But Mammoths were quite skilled in running away, and thus the dwarves chased them for a MONTH (in-game).

One mammoth got cornered, two dwarves after it, pools to the left and right. I thought 'nice, at last' and almost cheered, but nooo! The Mammoth turns around, and rushes onto the dwarves.

One dodges INTO THE LEFT POOL, and the second INTO THE RIGHT POOL. Both drown. Argh!

Then, other militia guys began chasing the mammoth, who in turn began chasing some stoneworker with a baby (coincidence or not, I still wonder).

To make this more insulting/hillarious, after a while, a Giant Eagle began chasing the mammoth-chasing militia guys. They were chasing like this for a moment, before marksgoblin ambush shown up and ruined everything :<

Guess who survived it? That goddamn previously-cornered mammoth.

I think I need to build him a shrine or something...

Nitemerith has been saved.

Well, immigrants came, much like humans with ample supply of iron shields and weapons. I have no iron nor coal on my own.

It's 30 of us now, and the militia is training fast. Summer is uneventful, but better prepare for autumn ambushes and sieges. Goblins, kobolds, shruks like to appear. In the same moment.

Visionlabors' situation is grim.

The dead outnumber the living, the stone layers aren't providing any ore for weapons nor coal to power the furnaces at all. Last siege of shruk killed fifteen dwarven immigrants who were dwarfed into quickly-made group of speardwarves.

My god, the blood.

Now the only planter was stampeded by mammoths (why I have added them), and few dwarves are very unhappy.

That's so fun! :D

"My friend! Thy wounds! They do bleed! Shouldn't you seek medical care of our finest nurses, Bed and Bucket?"

With that wise saying, Zan moves along the road, peeking inside the fortress, not going to the tower.

My saltwater-crocodile-man adventurer exhausted all the local foes, so I decided to forge out into the wilderness to look for adventure.  After several days of travel I was ambushed in the middle of the night by bogeymen.  I appeared in a dry pond which I could not escape from.  The bogeymen couldn't path to me, and so never came up to the edge of the pond where I could escape them.  Complete unbreakable stalemate.  I couldn't even go to sleep, and declined to sit there pressing '.' ten thousand times to get the dawn to appear.
Did you try throwing mud at it?
None of the bogeymen even came close enough for me to see them.  Just cackling all around, and me stuck in a dry pond.

If you couldn't see any of them, couldn't you have hid, then fast-traveled?

You don't see them but they might see you.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: What will you do with moving fortress parts?
« on: December 04, 2010, 02:11:04 pm »
Dwarfineering awaits the glorious day when we can smash entire goblin armies into the ceiling, use a series of moving walls to force megabeasts into the arena, create mining lifts and makeshift conveyor belts, and submerge a dwarven submarine.

Boats are the big thing for me. Moving fortress parts will be awesome (for my aforementioned bird-flipping, siege-breaking-finger device) but if Toady (armok be with him) makes boats work as I hope they will, I'll name my first-born after Dwarf Fortress (whether the mother likes it or not).

Urist makes a great name for a child.

"Dad, why you have called me Urist?"

"Because that means 'dagger'."

"...so you want me to stab you or something?"

Jesus granite christ.

This is for the game I've played almost ten years ago?

Jesus again. I has a disc for Freespace 2, but is in condition worse than minimal to get this running...

Let's quote a wingman there:
