General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.
« on: May 28, 2010, 07:24:29 am »Still unemployed. Bleck. I've been applying to all kinds of places since March and I've only had two interviews despite having a great resume and being a pretty likeable guy. I'm not even looking for anything amazing, I just need something minimum wage to keep myself fed. I have all my rent for the summer set aside already, and living off my savings will last me probably another four months, but I'd much rather be making money than losing it. I like working, too. But the damned job market is dryyyyy. The stuff I'm looking for would be doing something menial in an office like changing tax codes and crap like that, but I lowered my expectations a little while ago and can't even get anything as a waiter or even a delivery guy. I even applied to be a 7-days-a-week overnight shift guy at a 24/7 convenience store, working midnight to 8am, and the position was filled by the time I came back with a resume after seeing the notice. Argh.
Ha.
Welcome in da club, Retro.

« on: May 27, 2010, 10:43:08 am »Well, apparently, Erepublik doesn't want me playing their game. Somebody decided I had multiple accounts and banned me. I'd love to know why, but I guess the right to face one's accuser hasn't reached the New World yet.
Well, you had the luck of sharing an IP with one of cheaters from Russia, and your account got banned for the sake of secrecy

Russians are greatest cheaters there. The RU-bots (hundreds of accounts with female names) are just Legendary

« on: May 27, 2010, 04:45:23 am »This game is very beautiful and slightly depressing.
I second thy words. Pixels only add to the experience.
Also, it's propably first game in which I had to force myself being bastard. Still, for 4 tries, only the last one made the 'guy' free and live without her.
And damn, deciding was tough. Especially when she was making faces D:
I feel sad now.

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: What's going on in your adventure?
« on: May 26, 2010, 02:22:33 am »I keep finding figurines of my dead adventurers in the underground caverns. One of my nord, one of my ezrakim elf, one of my snakeman. Who makes them? Who leaves them around? Will my current adventurer be the next figurine?
They weren't figurines....they are your past adventurers! (Dun dun DUN~) They we're turned into "trophies".
...By whom? maybe you already know the answer...
It's the...
...Vile Puppet Master of Magma! (Dun dun DUNNN~)
Also, sigg'd, as soon as I will find some place.

« on: May 25, 2010, 09:15:13 am »I *really* need to find some bauxite on that map.
Why bauxite? There's now plenty of magma-resistant stones (dolomite, for example.).
You know that. Right?

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Do you use magma?
« on: May 24, 2010, 03:02:04 pm »
That's very simple question, people.
Also, why you use/don't use magma?
I'm up for challenge of course! ^^ What's more challenging that sudden lack of fuel while you need 10x Iron bolts for your marksdwarfs and full suits of armor for new recruits?
You need to venture outside and cut trees, or dig frantically for coal. Watch as your military back-ups the woodcutters who have to make wood surrounded by possible ambushing goblins and wild animals!
And sieges? That means flying bodyparts, blood and tears as your veteran dies after slaughtering 30 gobbos, and then it's national mourning day for your fortress.
With magma? No need for fuel + magma showers. Pfft. That's cheap.
