I've cut my hand (nothing serious) while peeling potatoes for lunch. The cause?
That silly small spider with long, thin, almost non-existant legs. Why I'm not especially scared of spiders, they always manage to startle me. He was sitting at the hand that was holding. And I smakced him with a hand that was holding a knife. Yeah.

Also, that's nice idea. I never tried civil service jobs. Writing papers, carryign them around and sorting information on computer... that's worth a try. Maybe I will even get a job at employment offices [/irony]. Thanks :3

Well, I'm certainly talking out of my ass here, but maybe you could whip up some of that old "green shoots" magic Poland was supposed to have. Entrepreneur your way out of poverty. I don't know how - maybe middleman deals to sell foreclosed factory equipment and infrastructure to Oriental buyers and investors? Worked for Russia, until they ran out of old factories to sell. Hopefully you'll make enough money to move to France or someplace with more social security.
I could go on and on with the topics.
And all those factories you speak about - When USSR moved away from Poland, they literally took whole factories ('Cease production, scrap equipment, take to Russia') with them, alongside with other goods. Well, not all of them, of course, but still, they didn't left empty-handed. Bleh.

Poland, East Europe. Living in a city called Gdańsk, were half of the living place is surrounded with wilderness, and half is surrounded with sounds of shipyard/refining stuff.

Edit: You can get about $50 a week from that, which can help with quality of life issues if you're nearly destitute
I lol'd - like I lol everytime someone mistakes me with being native english speaking person and/or living in US. But that's okay, I got used to that
And what I can get from giving my blood away (in my country), is 10 blocks of dark/bitter chocolate
Aaaand cheaper tickets for bus/train/other, IIRC, I will give 4.5 litre of blood away in one year.

As long as I will find some job before I'm broken, it's kinda okay. And I'm not very sure that a souvenir stand with warehouses, shipyards and refineries in the background would gain attention

Adventurers. The only people of DF world who mastered Spell of Randomly Spontaneous Teleportation.

So, okay. 0.31.04 Adventure mode has become unplayable. It just processes, for minutes and not even finishing, a one step of my adventurer in not so large elven site in a smallest world.
At old 40d16, in such place the game just works beautifuly fast. Also, Dwarf Mode in 31.04 also gets slow.
Settings 1:
[PRINT:STANDARD]
[G_FPS:10]
[VSYNC:NO]
[TEXTURE_PARAM:NEAREST]
In 40d16, it's just slow. FPS around 10-15.
In 31.04, game occasionaly becomes unresponsive for minute/two/five, before unfreezing. Then, something ram-heavy occurs, and there goes another few minutes...

[G_FPS:10]
[VSYNC:NO]
[TEXTURE_PARAM:NEAREST]
In 40d16, my dwarves zap through 91-bodied fortress, with FPS hovering around 20-30.
In 31.04, not only it lags, but the dwarves leave trails of themselves (like, a line of red-faces, but only one dwarven kid, on the front of that line). FPS going from as low as 5 to 50. At pause, it's 100 (the cap).
Help? OpenGL version for 31.04 works completely different (and wrong) than those from 40d# line.
And it sucks. Even non-OpenGL, 31.03 (without OpenGL) works more smoothly.
On other hand, my PC is damn old (10 years), and I assume that 1.3GHz CPU, 256mb of RAM, and a 64Mb graphics card (Nvidia) is not much...
