DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Strange mood problems

Check her preferences. She might be looking for specific kind of something
Eg: You might have tons of rock, but not the one she likes.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: How did I get a Gremlin Hunter as a migrant??
« on: September 26, 2009, 08:49:08 am »
Wont the gremlin start pulling random levers when it gets near them since it has the
Code: [Select]
[MISCHIEVIOUS] tag ?

AFAIK, it will.

Truean will have a lot of fun ;D

A quick to anger soaper? Awesome. I hope he gets unhappy and starts a massive tantrum spiral. ;D

'Servu Jr throws soap at Sir Woge!'
'Sir Woge is hit in the leg by spinning soap!'
'Sir Woge is throwing a tantrum!'
*later*
'Your settlement has crumbled to it's end.'

;D

23th Slate, year 3.
What a suprise. I met late Servu's son. I never knew he had a son. Strange - maybe he's an elf in disguise?

13th Felsite, year 3.
I spoke with my nemesis, Ina. Learned that she devote herself for making a large house for Sir Woge. What that man have that so many chicks are attracted to him?

26th Felsite, year 3.
At last! The temple is done! I spend so much time on it, I'm sure I couldn't make it without Fire of Tul fueling my determination. I shall spend this night on prayers before a small bonfire.

27th Felsite, year 3.
Well, I couldn't make a bonfire without anyone noticing, so I prayed before a flaming stick. Fire is fire, every kind is blessed by Tul!

2nd Hematite, year 3.
Work, work, work. My plans has been changed a little and applied to south gate.

8th Hematite, year 3.
Sir Woge interrupted me while I was drawing. I went out of quarry and waited for a him a bit, but he didn't came. I'm pretty sure he was looking on my pictures.

24th Hematite, year 3.
Now me and my crew are working on the walls. I'm quite pleased that I don't suffer unemployment, like in my home city before. Oh yes, we don't have any coins yet.

3th Malachite, year 3.
I must admit that sun is quite irritating at summers in this region of the world. I shall move my quaters to the quarry in future.

DF Modding / Re: Playing as human- need help with raw file
« on: September 26, 2009, 05:53:23 am »
I know, it sucks. You can wait for the dwarves to bring some trap components, if you've got them set to come.
I THOUGHT I had them set to come, but have not seen them yet... so that probably means the wiki fucked me over again, huh?

If they were visible via embark screen, they will surely come. When playing dwarves, sometimes I get humans/elves in 3-4 year... patience :P

Caravan was already at you or it was 'expected' to come any moment?

I'm still thinking about that :P I have to deal with embark problems and some tweaks now, especially with Vahnatai ;)

33759
I will remember to 'accidentally' fall on a lever hooked to a bridge you're standing on somewhere in the future :P

You are already underground :P Think of the world u create giant cavern with a sphere of fire called 'sun' ;P
Thus, plants grow only aboveground. Everything under is devoid of plants.

Always bring some mushrooms. And their spawn for planting.

EDIT: Check herbarium if you want to know about plants ;) It's in the game folder.

EDIT2: Vahnatai's, along with different 'symbols' for kitties/sliths and some creatures are on their way (v0.6)

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: The world has passed into the Second Age of Myth
« on: September 24, 2009, 03:26:32 am »
I got 300 years of Age of Elves once (northern half of map - all retreats)... That sinister thing haunted me in my dreams. T'was terryfying.

Also, Age of Civilization is when Humans are in power or just any civ get half of the world for themselves?

1st Obsidian, year 2.
Sir Woge is in a bad mood today, I think. Heard a lot of shouting. I dun't care, as long as I have my quarry and some masonry work ongoing.

15th Obsidian, year 2.
Eh, the temple is looking pretty... 'raw', one might say. Something must be done.

20th Obsidian, year 2.
We had a meeting today. They already have an idea for the temple - a pool. I, being a worshipper of fire, wanted to say some objections, but since Woge worship that Egu (and I think majority of citizens too), I just forget about those and went to work.

1st Granite, year 3.
Woo! It's new year and I'm still alive!

3rd Granite, year 3.
Cabinets. Made of wood.
Treason.

21th Granit, year 3.
Elves!

25th Granite, year 3.
They're entering the mission! Tul save us!

A puppy scared them off and gates could be closed then. I must devote myself more to Tul, 'cuz it was certainly her who saved us.

3rd Slate, year 3.
Elves are gone. Well, part of them. When it's safe, I poke through the gate near house district. I seen some bodies, and I'm still hearing cries of dying elves. Hurrah for bowmen!

6th Slate, year 3.
I just heard of something interesting, picture sums that all:
*below are exceptionally drawn Sir Woge, Thrathdad and a bridge with levers in the background. Sir Woge is pissed and shouting on Thrathdad. She's weeping.*
Ha. Ha. Ha!

19th Slate, year 3.
Seen Woge. He is quite ecstatic. I bet elves are gone.

20th Slate, year 3.
Ooh, migrants! Neat. Heard also that Woge's fiancee (Mete, that is), managed to slaughter a bunch of elves on her own. Some peasants say she killed twenty or even thirty.
Dunno if it's true, but I don't wanna mess with her.

EDIT:
On a side note, the series of battles in the last update were F'ing epic. I was on the edge of my seat for a solid hour or something as I slowly played through the encounters. When the last ambush popped right on top of Mete and Switchblades I thought they were done for... but when I saw there were no archers in the bunch, I realized I had a chance.

I also am a little curious if The melee people were using wrestling rather than swords... cuz those screenshots don't look like they have swords...  :o   o well ::)

I also have no clue how Lomam survived the first encounter... he was right fricking on top of the elves and got away with non-fatal wounds (he also healed 100% in record time, it seems...)

That's awesomeness of DF fights for you :P

YES. *downloads* I'm so happy I decided to check what's what in the modding forum today. Avernum rocks my socks, and this gives me something with which I can stave off my Avernum 6 hunger. :D Thank youuuuuu.

No problemo :P I think that because there's so little beings in game, I experience crashes on embark ;P
But forests and grassy areas are quite safe :P
