Spoiler (click to show/hide)

We are Manchu, and we get so many war taxes as of late!
All thanks to Taungu, our ally, being the warmonger of South Asia.

Finally, the first conquests of Korea has been legitimized and accepted by our subjects.
In ten years or so, the rest of Korean peninsula will follow.

A culture that is accepted, uhhh, I think Koreans are less likely to revolt?
Also as you can see on the side, I'm building up our navy - mostly to fulfill a mission to create a proper fleet (amount of ships at 100% navy limit)

More info on the distant lands in the west!
I'm actually curious how Ethiopia is doing if their name stretches all the way up to Egypt.

Dang, Xin! They've split up their markets to Nanjing and Hanyang.
We need to occupy the other market soon to regain the bonuses!

Military reform!
Of course we focus on land forces, we ain't a colonial empire anyway.

Just before this we've got Architectural Development, which is why our missionaries are going down.
We will prioritize construction of Workshops for a while. Higher tax means more money and larger armies!

Gift to the state's monetary award has gotten quite big since last time.
It is a proof that our economy is doing well.

A-ha! Our Treasurer of 30-something years finally triggered the event.
Prestige is what we need - bringing it to 99 points!

And this is why I was stockpiling our Magistrates.
Once we get this decision through, we're back to building up Workshops.

Taungu is doing hellishly well in this playthrough.
In fact, I'm getting a tiny bit worried.

Obviously, we're Chinese already!
I will try to issue the Dictionary as soon as possible. 60 years of (tiny) Government boost ain't bad.

Final cores in Korea - obtained!

Grand Chinese Dictionary - published!

Insults from Xin - RECEIVED!

PERSONAL UNION - BROKEN!!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA okay, enough panicking.
Lately they've been going through some rough events. This is the best and only chance we have - to war!

We win the initial fighting but oh god the casualties.
I hope they will be sufficiently distracted by Taungu and their network of vassals.
I also preemptively take a loan to pay for our military maintenance.

The fightining is intense but we manage to win the fights, going all the way to Beijing and Chengde!

This is the third Xin army we pulverize to dust!
Yet they're still about 60 regiments strong, and they keep coming.

I'm forced to give up war taxes and grab this option in Weeping Song.
Otherwise our backs will be broken no matter what gains we make in this war.

The few spies we have manage to infiltrate Xin's palaces!
Just like I thought, they're concentrating their efforts on Taungu-Dai Viet offensive.
We must hurry - if Taungu pulls out of the war, all these angry Xin will be marching our way.

The Xin Emperor himself fights us within borders of Chengde!
We beat his forces and then annihilate them at Heijian, but Qin Zhu escapes.

The Xin keep coming, despite the fact that we, the Viet, the Taungu, and even Kazakhs and Mongol rebels are fighting them.
We must keep on our offensive however.

Our newest general, Encehen Xi, takes our soldiers to Dornod, where Xin army has ventured.
He narrowly wins the battle and destroys the offending troop at Chahar.

We extend the loan, it is the only option.
In next two months, we defeat two more armies - one at Handan, one at Beijing.

Dai Viet and Taungu has been beaten.
The Xin hordes are en route towards us.
Or the Kazakhs, who knows.

Encehen Xi has died shortly after a battle in which he saved Giocangga's army from destruction.
But now, we take Hoogle Folun. Look at his stats - 3 Movement, 6 Shock!

Our Master of Mint is helping!
Meanwhile, most of forces under Emperor Giocangga's control were transferred to Hoogle Folun's.
His stack now rather comfortably deals with numerous Xin forces that attempt to rally into bigger force just outside our conquests.

Speaking of Emperor Giocangga - he dies!
His 40-something heir takes over. Next in line is Yangzheng, who has nice stats but is unfortunately underage.
In other news - somehow, Oirat and Kazakh nomads are rampaging in western Xin with impunity. I wonder what's up with that.

Despite their numerical superiority, our partially depleted forces kill Xin soldiers in thousands!
The reason for that is war exhaustion - Xin has amassed 12.2 points of it, while we have none (thanks to all our provinces being free and no war tax being gathered).

We're down to one troop after we had to retreat and consolidate our forces.
Xin has racked massive amount of war exhaustion but THEY KEEP COMING.
How do we continue winning yet are still in losing position?

At least we get the loan repaid.

Through perseverance, patience and plain stubborness, we've reached the point in the war where Xin, when refusing our peace offers, suffer Stability hits!
We need to carry on a bit more while our diplomats pester Emperor of Xin with peace offers.

VICTORY! VICTORY! VICTORY!!!
The Xin Emperor has been humilitated and the northern provinces are ours!!
We also demand a mountain of gold and silver, and snatch the title of Defender of Faith right away.
