You decide to put your charisma to a test and compose your wife a ballad to warm her heart (and open her bedroom).

Quote
6*

You make it both elegant and bawdy, and Abene listens with interest and smirk on her face. After you're done, she undoes the rope belt of her robe. "Such an old fool." She muses. "Took you this long to get romantic?" She shakes her head at your silliness, and then invites you to her bedroom.

Few days after that, the orcish bodyguards finish their journey preparations, and take up the money set aside by the Treasurer, making the Treasury really empty.

"We shall march with haste to the land of our fathers." Their leader salutes you. "We believe our successors should arrive by the end of the year. Glory to you!" Then they leave.

411 AEC, Midsummer

Peasants don't like the burden of heavy taxation when they're themselves burdened with the miserable living conditions in your kingdom - and they've decided to show it by throwing a revolt!

Led by some village elders, who in turn are led by a retired General, Sacho Pilon (a man of brawl rather than brains), the four-thousand strong mob has gathered in the coastal territory of Paladena province. Day by day, the reports say, General Pilon and his rebel companions are calling up 'men of conscience' to join them and put a stop to your excesses and oppression.

You decide to...

A) Send a letter and resolve the matter diplomatically.
B) Send your soldiers to fix the problem with some bloodletting.
C) Send your scouts again to gather information for now.

"I shall then commission a protective trinket. A bracelet could be nice." The leader of the drakes hisses.

"A bracelet it ssshall be. We need a high place with open windowsss, windy if posssible..."

"The castle has many towers." The Advisor muses, stroking his beard. "This can be arranged for." The drakes hiss and nod in approval.

"That isss good. We shall work for about a hundred daysss, and then you shall see the fruit of our labor."

The Drakes take the ore and leave the audience hall. Later that day you learn that they've made one of unused towers in the north of the castle as their workshop. Intermittent chanting, hissing, and flashes of blue light come from its windows, the guards say.

411 AEC, Summer

Tributes are sent to the victors of the past war.

One year of payments remains - no money remains in the Treasury!

Despite the few visits in Abene's bedroom, you can still feel a bit of cold towards your persona. The fact that there's no children coming from the marriage yet is obvious signs that neither love nor nature are at work.

Is Abene mad, you wonder? Probably no. Is she holding a grudge? Most definitely so.

A) I shall compose a ballad to win her heart!
B) I shall host a wrestling competition to prove my manliness!
C) I shall compare her to the ancient statues and beauties of Etreria!
D) I shall buy her a lovely dress embroidered with pearls and expensive gems!

Cooklady that has patron deity of crafts and heals, has stubborn-ish personality and considers fancy stuff meh?

She will become one of those loud cussing elderly grandmas spoiling local orphans with candy when she gets old, I think.

You tell them that you shall order Lord Gabrrel to pay Saat'r for the damages.

Quote
4*

They hiss and grumble amongst themselves, and their leader unfolds his wings.

"We ssshall wait outside the city and wait until we have confirmation that the human who caused Saat'r damagess payss. Then we shall artifice for you, human king."

You therefore dispatch a messenger with escort to the unruly Lord.

411 AEC, Late Spring

One month later, the whole affair is solved; Lord Gabrrel, pressed on my your order, arrives in the capital and negotiates with the drakes. Apparently, in his older age, he has accrued wealth and lost some of his stubborn pride.

On first day of the Late Spring, the Drakes of Cbran have an audience with you.

"We sshall artifice for you now, human King. What can we create for you out of the Moon Tears?"

You tell them that you have no idea. They hiss, annoyed by your hesitation.

"We can melt the ore into metal and forge a blade out of it, or a small shield or helmet. We can use the raw ore and polish it into gemstone that shall radiate energy of the Moon, protecting you from harm and ill."

"Alright, how much you want for that?"

"This much." One of the drakes hands the Treasurer a scroll, and the two go over it for a while. Finally, the Treasurer approaches you, his brow furrowed.

"Accounting for the tributes next month, we will be without reserves of money if we commission the artifact, my liege."

You decide to...

A) Dismiss the drakes as you cannot afford their services.
B) Commission a blade.
C) Commission a shield.
D) Commission a helmet.
E) Commission an enchanted trinket.

"Allright. Let's go."

About an hour later...

The sudden downpour didn't upset rebels' plans, and instead, aided them, the thickness of the clouds providing cover and the loud rustle of the rain muffling all sounds.

Cedric squatted between bushes, his horse silently breathing behind him. The rebels were arranged in a line, ready to abandon their hiding positions.

"There's so few of them..." Cedric mused quietly, eyeing the wagons being led by only few footsoldiers each. As the convoy approached, Cedric slowly pulled out his sword out of the sheath, but remained still.

~~Player Turn 1~~

EXP: 0/100

Weather:
Rain: All Mounted units -1 MOV.

Objectives:
Loot and scoot!
The enemies are currently unaware of your presence. They will become aware when you attack them (duh), you move out of the Forest/Dark Forest tiles, you re-mount (Cedric, Marion and Orietta start dismounted), or a Player Character and an Enemy Unit end on adjacent tiles.
The Transports have 5 MOV (like any other foot unit). You need to hit them twice to down them. Downed Transports can be pillaged - to do so, move to a tile adjacent to a downed Transport and simply post an action.
If you want to leave the map (for example, your inventory is full already), you must end your move at any tile of the Column 1. Then, your unit will be moved off the map and considered 'safe'.
Happy raiding!

You agree to let them go and order the Treasurer to set aside money to hire another batch of the bodyguards from Kingdom of Rsa.

411 AEC, Mid-Spring

The Drakes have arrived! Their passage was noted by the sentries on the towers in walled cities for quite a while, and the messenger dispatched by them reached you only half a day before the winged beastmen did themselves.

The entourage is made of drakes draped in blue robes as well as few wearing bronze armor; one draped in golden chainmail and plumed helmet must be an Arbiter, a judge of his peoples and expert of Drakish laws.

"Greetings, Lycwl of Kastoria. I am Ram'ddr, Arbiter of Jos. You've requested our pressence to manufacture an artifact out of the Moon Tears, or Sky Iron, as your people call them, but you've unpaid debt towardsss one of us." Your courtiers murmur and grumble as you lean forward in your throne.

"The damages done by one of my nobles to the drake called Saat'r was paid in gold and silver!"

"It wasss not enough. Noble Saat'r, humbly suffering through his wounds, iss without meansss of living and has to beg for scrapss. That is a life that no Drake sshould endure, and yet, one of yours forced Saat'r into sssuch a life."

"And you don't provide for him?" The Advisor steps in. "How can you make demands for one's honor yet leave him on streets without means of living? Such thing is barbaric!"

"Victim's future is burden of the wrongdoer, not their brethren. Sssuch is law! Unlesss such a debt is repaid, we sshall not lend our powersss to you."

A) "Alien laws of drakes have no place in civilized lands of Kastoria! Go, I have no need for your artificers!"
B) "Fine, we shall pay a proper amount to ensure Saat'r's livelihood from now on."
C) "I shall order Lord Gabrrel to repay the drake for the damages."

Which reminds me I forgot the trade rolls, they will be up in a minute ;V

You decide to tax peasants heavily next year and get money spent on construction of new ships.

Like the previous year, salt brings profits, the jewellry brings more!

The Orcish bodyguard cadre has asked for an audience with you. They all punch their chests in salute.

"King Lycwl, we are done with the usual time of guardship. We're now adults, and we wish to leave for our country and rejoin our brethren and find ourselves wives. We shall leave your service on the first day of the summer." You feel a bit sad, these guys saved your skin quite a few times.

"Can't you stay a bit longer?"

"No." The leader of the cadre grunts. "But if you wish, we can take money and ask our elders to send our younger brothers, nephews and other youths so that they can replace us and serve you well, and earn honors or die in glory!"

A) "Sure thing, take the money, and get me a fresh batch of orcs!"
B) "Sorry, but I think I'm fine for now. Maybe few years from now?"

A messenger is dispatched to the Cbran aeries, requesting presence of their artificers!

410 AEC, End of the Year

Happiness: 4
Population: 3
Economy: 3
Army: 2
*Navy: 2

"Although our sources of income are rather stable," The Advisor says to you, pacing before your desk. "You've requested the Drakes to commission us an artifact, and there's still two years of tributes that we need to send to Maestrimar and Satorias. We could tax the peasants, or the noblemen."

"The Marshal and the Admiral are at odds with each other. They both believe that with our current income, both the Army and the Navy should be enlarged to protect us from outside and inside threats."

As for the taxes...

A) Raise the taxes for the peasants.
B) Make up some one-time tax for the noblemen.
C) Nothing, there's no need for extra taxation!

As for the military...

A) Time to recruit some more soldiers.
B) Let's build some more ships.
C) Nah, we're doing fine right now!
