You buy all the Blackspice and sell all the Grapedrink and Fruitbrew.

"Forty-two thousand three hundred forty Ducats gotten and sixty thousand spent." Says the Purser, noting it all down in the ledger. "As for Silver, I believe we're looking at two or three thousand Ducats of profit per Barrel, depending if the metal market back home is currently stable."

A) "Alright, now let's buy (insert trade good here)!"
B) "Alright, now let's sell (insert trade good here)!"
C) "I think we're done trading in Copana!"
D) Consult the Ledger.

You declare that through the wealth of your Treasury and strength of the Mammos, the Great Stone Circle shall be rebuilt.

The courtiers murmur and nod in approval while the Archdruid leaves happy.

The Treasurer, on other hand, makes some sad noises.

507 AD, Winter

Another report from Rycht comes with the very first snowfall. King Herykk has turned the tide of the raids and has attacked the Livonian soil with his troops, burning some villages in eye-for-eye retribution, while your soldiers continue to keep watch over his outposts and border towns.

507 AD, Midwinter

The snowfall this year is very heavy, and has been continuing for almost a week now. There's already accidents of collapsing roofs and many roads and hamlets are covered with so much of the white stuff that adult men cannot see above the heaps. Courtiers worry what might become of the Kingdom if this continues!

A) Send the soldiers to clear the roads and help out the people!
B) Alas, nature cannot be defeated!
C) Deliver sacrifices to the spirits and Creator to banish the blizzards!

"I want to consult the Ledger."

"Of course!" The Purser opens the heavy book for you. "Here you go, sir."

Spoiler: Santa Julia Ledger (click to show/hide)

A) "Alright, let's sell... (insert trade goods here)!"
B) "Alright, let's buy... (insert trade goods here)!"
C) "Hmm, actually, let's not trade here."

499
"I see."

"In time, she will get a little bit less abrasive." Arma explains and takes a sip of her beverage.

"And you? What brings a handsome guy like you all the way out here, in middle of nowhere?"

A) "I had nowhere else to go."
B) CHATTY: "After my liberation, I needed a place to stay and some work to get me fed and clothed."
C) FLIRTY: "Felt I need somewhere I can serve and chat with all the nice clientele~"

"To the market then!" You and the Purser leave the ship for Copana's marketplace.

The Market Keeper meets with you and discusses the wares the colony has; indeed, there's Silver to be obtained, at government-set prices. Also, there's a shortage of alcohols in the colony, and therefore the merchants, represented by the Keeper, are willing to pay more for certain beverages.

Quote from: Copana Market
Blackspice: 60 Coffers (3 SL) priced 1000 Ducats each.
Bitterfruit: 820 Sacks (82 SL) priced 235 Ducats each.
Crimsonpeel: 100 Coffers (5 SL) priced 600 Ducats each.
Firestalk: 230 Sacks (23 SL) priced 1430 Ducats each.
Silver: 250 Barrels (50 SL) at set buying price of 8000 Ducats each.
Spicebark: 133 Coffers (>7 SL) priced 145 Ducats each.
Sugar: 95 Sacks (>10 SL) priced 75 Ducats each.
Sweetpod: 120 Coffers (6 SL) priced 1330 Ducats each.

Copana Market is currently buying Old World Textiles at Company Value.
Copana Market is currently experiecing some alcohol shortages, and is therefore buying Grapedrink at 345 Ducats per Barrel, and Fruitbrew at 700 Ducats per Barrel, and all other Alcohols at Company Value.

"Adding to what I said last time, Bitterfruit is also in season as it is second harvest this year." The Purser says, eyeing the prices.

A) "Time to buy some... (insert trade goods here)!"
B) "Let's sell some... (insert trade goods here)!"
C) Consult the Ledger.

"If they failed to come back, then it is up for them to find their way back to Lusia. Lift anchor, set the sails! We leave right away!"

"Aye, Captain!"

Without further delay, the work on the ship begins - so that it leaves the port within an hour!

3rd Midwinter
Afternoon
Copana, Coast of Columbia

Quote from: Purser's Ledger
Wages:
2 Ducats per Sailor a Day for 143 Sailors over 4 Days from Sebastias to Copana: 1.144 Ducats

As the sailors who were allowed to disembark are reprimanded by the First Mate about the duty to the ship, not the bottle, the Purser comes up with the ledger in hands.

"Monsieur Captain, I am ready. Whereas shall we go first? The Company Man? The Market?"

"Do you know the Company Man of this port?"

"A little bit. Not a very cooperative of friendly fellow, from what I remember."

A) "Let's visit him first anyway!"
B) "To the market then!"

502
"Nay, we done here!"

"Aye, sir!"

"And the Blackspice cost us two hundred fifty two thousand Ducats, sir, I have just finished. Once all the cargo is moved or loaded, we should be free to leave."

30th Early Winter
Morning
Sebastias, Isle of Sebastias

You hear voices on the deck and you leave your cabin to investigate. Much to your surprise, then chagrin, the ship is still anchored at Sebastias. You approach the Gunner, the Surgeon and the First Mate.

"I'm telling you, they got mugged." The Gunner says, bemused.

"Probably just drunk in a ditch somewhere." The Surgeon replies, unconvinced, before they all notice you.

"What is the matter here? Why have we not left Sebastias yet? The sun's high up!" The First Mate grimaces.

"Captain, we're short of four men. Sailors Rowley, Mauro, Alentera and Soviao are missing."

"How so? What have occured?"

"That we do not know."

"They went drinking and sleeping on land, like others, but failed to return to the ship."

"Mugged and knifed, I tell ye."

"Again with the pessimism!"

"Enough. What have you done about this?"

"We've already sent two groups of sailors to go look and ask for them. Both groups have returned and they failed to find any trace of the missing men. Sebastias is a large colony, but even then, this is strange. We three were discussing what to do - and where the sailors might be - and hoped that this dilemma can be solved before you wake up, alas!"

A) "Send more men to look for the stragglers. And prepare some whips! This sluggishness cannot be tolerated."
B) "We wait till noon, then we sail without them."
C) "If they failed to come back, then it is up for them to find their way back to Lusia. Lift anchor, set the sails! We leave right away!"

503
"Blackspice!"

"All of it?" The Purser asks just to be sure.

"Of course, the Charter depends on it." The Purser nods while the First Mate twirls his moustache.

"All this Blackspice, we shall be rich Captain, I can feel it."

"Should we load up on something else, monsieur?" The Purser leans towards you.

A) "Yes, also buy... (insert trade good here)!"
B) "Actually, maybe sell some... (insert trade good here)!"
C) "Nay, we done here!"
D) Consult the Ledger.

504
You agree to the price of Sugar and the Purser sighs as he starts to scribble.

"That's 14.300 Ducats got, great deal Captain." He notes and then hums.

"Now that we have about 22 Shiploads of cargo free, ought we buy something?"

A) "Nay, we are finished here."
B) "Yes, let's buy... (insert trade good here)!"

505
CHATTY: "So, what's Vanessa's deal, exactly? She seems to hate me since the moment she heard my voice." The Duchess grins, takes a sip, then considers the question while running her right index finger over the rim of the glass.

"Ah, Vanessa... Vanessa. She can be a sweetheart, if a clingy one, but a sweet girl nonetheless. She is the daughter of the man that was my chief of security. She was raised to replace him but it all came crashing down and the position and the wealth associated with it was no longer for Vanessa. She decided that she will carry on her duties anyway, and I felt no reason to let her go. It's been two years and I have to say she is growing into fine, strong, independent young woman."

A) "I see."
B) CHATTY: "Does it have to do with you being former royalty, then?"
C) CHATTY: "So you two come from the same world and know each other for a long time, I assume?"
D) FLIRTY: "So did she refuse that threesome because of pride, or because of shyness, what do you think~?"
E) FLIRTY: "Maybe she has just pent-up frustration and stress that needs some controlled release~?"

506
You decide to continue and try to squeeze a better deal.

The Market Keeper agrees to buy the Sugar in your hold for 65 Ducats per Sack, and that's his final offer.

A) Agreed!
B) No deal; let's sell (insert trade good here) instead!"

You let 'Vanessa' sleep and march back to the bar.

Once there, you watch as the Duchess sits down and immediately places her chin on her hands. Her eyes are following your every move, except the times she glances somewhere else about you.

"Hm, let's see... what can I ask of my cute bartender... oh, Happiest Lemon, please." Another drink you've not encountered prior, so you start typing into the console...

She lifts the glass, then takes a sip.

"Mm, haven't had this one for a while. Thank you."

A) "Any time."
B) CHATTY: "So, what's Vanessa's deal, exactly? She seems to hate me since the moment she heard my voice."
C) CHATTY: "I have to say, I did not expect to serve former royalty today, I am honored."
D) FLIRTY: "Now that we've gotten a little bit intimate, how about I get some intimate knowledge of your precious self~?"
E) FLIRTY: "Always honored and pleased to serve, my beloved Duchess~"

You order the taxes raises for a year.

507 AD, Spring

You receive a report from your commanders in Rycht; they've joined the troops of King Herykk, mostly as garrisoning force while the King's riders and footmen fight the enemy.

507 AD, Mid-Spring

You sit by your dearest wife, Dugda, as she receives the baby from the healer, who have wrapped it in a white blanket, soothing its bawling.

"Another boy, your Majesty." He says with a smile.

"And his name will be Vati." Dugda says quietly, kissing the babe's forehead. Vati! A fine, popular name of fine men and princes.

507 AD, Summer

"Good news, sire!" The Treasurer says, waving some parchment.

"Numbers from our lumber merchants have arrived. Profits are secured this year!"

And so, coin ends in your Treasury.

507 AD, Midsummer

Another report from your commanders indicates that their troops are still doing garrisoning work - meanwhile, this allowed Herykk's armies to wage war and score several victories against Livonis.

507 AD, Autumn

You bow in respect to the Archdruid as he comes to speak with you, your courtiers stepping away with hushed breaths and murmurs.

"Greetings, King Cyrus. We have waited five years, as you asked us to. The Great Stone Circle is still in ruin, and the spirits are displeased with you still. We have done some refurbishment of surrounding buildings on our own, the the capstonse of the Circles remain to be dug out, shaped, fastened and delivered upon the columns by your craftsmen and by your Mammos."

A) "And the answer is no!"
B) "Alright, this time I can afford to rebuild the fabled Circle!"

509
You announce that you shall send a thousand of your warrior to help your father-in-law and the people of Rycht!

The diplomat leaves happy.

506 AD, Midwinter

Under command of some trusted officers, a thousand-strong unit of Surinthomusan warriors leaves for southwest.

506 AD, End of the Year

Once again, the Scrolls end up in front of you.

"While our Army is split and part of it aways, there's a slight concern amongst Treasurer's officials." The Advisor says, stroking his beard.

"He is suggesting we raise tax on peasants for the coming year, my liege."

A) "Fine idea! Raise the tax!"
B) "No, no, I think, this is good. Good enough for me!"

510
"Maybe you are right." The Duchess smiles and pets your head.

"Well, now I feel like drinks... can I have a drink?"

"Of course."

Two minutes later, you and the Duchess, clothed once more, leave the ship, and Arma walks right past 'Vanessa', who was apparently eavesdropping on you two doing the thing... but now she is leaning against the wall by the door to the cargo hold-turned-luxury suite.

Arms crossed on her chest and head slightly slumped, the mercenary girl is quietly snoring. Somehow she managed to master vertical sleeping without the need for slumber pod.

A) Wake the angy guard.
B) Let her sleep.
