Forum Games and Roleplaying / Holy Roman Empire's Hurt&Heal 0.01!
« on: September 25, 2018, 11:52:20 am »

~~Gotta Annex'em All!~~

PRINCES: Standard dudes. You can Hurt them for 2, Heal them for 2, or Hurt one for 1 and Heal another for 1.
ELECTORS: Special dudes... actually they're just like Princes, but start with 25 Points instead of 10.

1. !!COPY AND PASTE LIST FROM PREVIOUS POSTER WHEN MAKING YOUR TURN!!
2. !!KEEP THE LIST OF PRINCES AS HIDDEN COMMENT!!
3. No adding new Princes.
4. When a Prince hits 0 it is removed from the list and gone forever.
5. Please use green and red to point out your Hurts and Heals, respectively.
6. You gotta wait 1 hour AND for someone else to post, before you can post again.
7. Player who eliminates an 'Elector' appoints a new 'Elector' from any other Prince that's still on board; the new Elector automatically gains 15 Points.
8. Game ends when one Prince reaches 100 points (victory for that Prince) or there's no Princes left other than Electors (HRE collapses).

HISTORICAL FUN:

ERAS:
XV Century (1400s): Starter era.
Effect: none.
XVI Century (1500s): Begins if there's less than 50 Princes total.
Effect: All Hurt +1. (eg: Hurt for 3, Hurt for 2 and Heal for 1, Heal for 2).
XVII Century (1600s): Begins if XVI Century is current Era, there's less than 45 Princes total + there has been at least 1 Electoral change.
Effect: All Heal +1. (eg: Hurt for 3, Hurt for 2 and Heal for 2, Heal for 3).
XVIII Century (1700s): Begins if XVII Century is current Era, there's less than 35 Princes total + there has been at least 2 Electoral changes.
Effect: All Hurt +1. (eg: Hurt for 4, Hurt for 3 and Heal for 2, Heal for 3).
XIX Century (1800s): Begins if XVIII Century is current Era AND there's less than 25 Princes total + there has been at least 3 Electoral changes.
Effect: All Hurt&Heal +1. (eg: Hurt for 5, Hurt for 4 and Heal for 3, Heal for 4).

You decide to send the Army now and do not wait till the rebels consolidate.

As the officials, noblemen and officers in the audience room kneel to declare their unconditional submission to you, and those who disagree with your absolute rule, oh Emperor of Methiant-Cydwyl, you realize what have you just achieved.

No longer bound by any law or precedence, you are the Judge, the Administrator, the Governor, the General and the Ambassador. No one can contest your word, be it spoken or written, and to disobey you is now equal to treason, regicide even.

You are the Law.

You are the People.

You are THE EMPIRE.

The traditional Administrative Monarchy of Methiant-Cydwyl has been abolished in favor of Absolute Monarchy! This drastic change of government has lowered national Happiness by 4 and your Authority by 2.

Imperial Authority now can reach -3 and +3, providing diplomatic bonus/malus at respective maximums, but your absolutist and oppressive centralization policy will mean people will be harder to placate.

The Army is fighting at the border with Donuthian and Ionithian duchies, and reports come from around the Empire that some people are grumbling aloud at the fact you've cast aside the half-millenia long traditions of the region just to further centralize your power.

Still, no rioting immediately occurs.

Your loyal courtiers approach you shortly after Oath of Fealty; while the Army is fighting near the capital, they believe it shouldn't overextend itself and instead we should call upon our family in Helliste, or maybe in Eldrican, to put pressure upon the rebels from, respectively, north and west.

A) That is a good idea. We will send a request for assistance from Kingdom of Helliste at once.
B) Splendid idea! Let's ask our relatives to lend us a hand, and maybe, just maybe, I will return the favor one day.
C) That is a good idea. We will send a request for assistance from Kingdom of Eldrican at once.
D) Pft! I'm the most powerful person in the most powerful nation on this planet! We need no assistance!

You order imprisonment and interrogation - and torture if need be - of the traitor scum, their families and supporters that are in the capital.

Within next few days, the royal prison welcomes almost two hundred most important peoples; the city prison takes in another near-thousand of those related to them. Within few weeks, many of them - especially elderly and children - die of cold, torture and mistreatment.

But reports come to you that the Duchies are beginning to gather support, the brothers, sons and uncles of those captured raising troops to get rid of you and free their families.

A) Send the Army to invade the northern Duchies and crush the rebellion before it really begins!
B) Let them declare war first, this way we will be seen as the side that simply defends against vile rebels!

You declare all of the bunch as TRAITORS TO THE EMPIRE.

They are TRAITORS of the WORST KIND.

You order your Shadowranks to arrest them all, and execute those who raise arms!

Quote
5*

Almost all of them do, and the Shadowranks come for the kill! The elite guards however easily slice through the enemies of the Crown, and you have to only protect yourself from the brave-slash-foolish few who manage to approach you, and even those are easily dispatched by your hand.

Before reinforcements arrive, the council room is full of dead, wounded or surrendered noblemen.

Though you're pretty sure you don't see at least half a dozen faces that were present when you demanded submission.

The captain of the Shadowranks arrives with extra guards to personally ascertain your safety.

"Emperor! About twenty of noblemen are still alive. What of them? And what shall we do with families and retainers that are also in the capital?"

As for the noblemen who surrendered...

A) Release them.
B) Interrogate and imprison them!
C) To the dungeon with them, they shall perish slowly!

As for families and retainers of the rebellious noblemen...

A) Let them go.
B) Imprison them all!
C) They shall suffer dungeon along with the traitors!
