Inb4 "Liir gained an 'Insult' pretext for war against Humanivers"? :P

6152
You decide to deny it fervently.

The father, the girl and the babby have to leave and courtiers give them glares, but some of the courtiers also give you some stares as well. Some might be suspecting that you lie, few might be even convinced of it.

You can bet that they won't see it a good light when they consider how much of an 'Emperor' you are!

1195 AD, Mid-Autumn

You're called to a council on economical matters. "Is it about the inflation?" You ask, and the advisors agree.

"Yes, it is. We can all agree that the prices are goign down and our currency has gained in strength."

Inflation has been removed from the Empire.

"We must avoid over-minting our precious metals, and make sure to invest the money to keep it healthily flowing through the system."

The fur trade brought enormous profits this year! This only adds to the money made from silver and gold mined in Methiant. Furthermore, Parsian gemstone are of very good quality and earn a bit.

You learn news that Hein I of Eldrican made first diplomatic moves; he has re-strengthened ties with Lametania and Rucus, by the way of setting his youngest daughter Una with one of Rucusian royal princes, as well as setting newborn Alfyn for marriage with Lametinia, second daughter of King of Lametania, Lamallus I.

A) And that is good, we will be one big happy family in the future!
B) This is an insult - shouldn't my children get priviledged deals?
C) We can't be worse. Let's send offers to Lametania and Rucus, too.

6153
You decide to let him go, with hopes that Eldrican will be friends of Methiant closer than before.

1195 AD, Autumn

You hear that Hein ascended the throne of Eldrican and took upon regnal name of Hein I.

Glasswork, t'chai leaves and spices sold pretty well! The access to such luxurious goods made your people happier, and Springwine ended the report with a little extra of profits on top.

The court is in uproar (again)!

A certain father of noble family arrived from the south, with a rather shy girl in tow, a little babby, wrapped in a towel, in the maiden's hands. He claims to be Ulran Owalden, and that you produced the child that the girl is holding. It is three-to-six months old, at best, and the father accuses you of sleeping with his daughter, and thus being the child's parent.

You count backwards in time, placing the child's conception somewhere in Autumn last year... you can't really remember this girl. She had longer hair, and less make-up? Maybe?

"So tell me Emperor, are you my grandson's father!?" The moustachioed nobleman glares angrily at you, and many of your courtiers look at you as well. You can bet Wihemina is in audience room, but cannot locate her.

You decide to...

A) Deny it fervently.
B) Acknowledge the fact.

6154

Of they ask, he is our son in law, so we have every right to do so.
(They must not find out that our logic is flawed!)

Pretty sure Hein is Yoe IV's half-uncle few-times-removed ;v

Hein laughs at your demand once you make clear it to him.

"Are you drunk again, Doge?"

A) "As your Emperor, I demand your fealty! Obey me!"
B) "It was only an offer. But I hope we remain friends!"

6155
This one-in-a-million combination of good luck/fun/whathaveyou happened only because I asked random.org for a number, and it gave me a 6. Just in case, I asked for another number, and it was a 6 again. I was like 'come on, RNG, really?' And rolled again. And it was a 6 again.

All this without a single time of Lucky trait activation... therefore I decided that, heck, natural triple 6 demands awesome stuff, so there you go.

6156
You decide to pile the loot in the Treasury, you can always spend it later if needed.

1195 AD, Midsummer

Various bureaucratic work has been completed on Parsia; its population is quite big, and thus the numbers on the censuses went up a notch. Also, the gemstone mines on the opposite end of the Parsian mountains are now added to your economy!

Meanwhile, the male line of Cyl's descendants grow; Hein's wife Irvalina borne him another boy, whom she named Alfyn.

1195 AD, Late Summer

Shocking news arrive from Eldrican!

Sadly, the little boy King, Tetan IV, has died from high fever. The regency council, against wishes of some more western-oriented noblemen, have decided to invite Irvalina - or rather, her husband, Hein of Methiant - as the next ruler of Eldrican Kingdom!

They say in a letter that despite being female, Irvalina (and her kids) are the closest in line to the throne after all other claimants dropped dead during plague, and after Tetan IV expired. It seems that they're even dismissing several (distant) cousins n-times removed as potential new Kings of Eldrican, instead opting for someone with already big family...

To some of your courtiers it looks like a sign of desperation and weakness, to other, a solid proof of Yoean prestige and fame. Entirety of Methiantese court is gossiping about this, and Hein, on urging of his wife, is preparing to accept the invitation.

A) Hold it! Hein ain't going nowhere, because reasons!
B) Only if he swears loyalty to Methiantese crown!
C) An adult relative on Eldrican throne? Ka-ching!

This is all fine and nice, but only every few months. Once a year, maybe. In the morning, you dismiss the pretty things to better deal with the head-splitting hangover.

You ought to establish some festival schedule or something.

1195 AD, Late Spring

After few weeks of pacifying the pockets of resistance, the Army is ready to depart. Ajarat Padarashka, as a parting gift 'to fellow conqueror', has given you gold-ink parchment in which Mahjar Sim agrees to division of Parsia; the Gubtans taking what was theirs before Shapur's conquests, and the remainder - along with city of Karasau - going into hands of Methiant.

You decide it is time to head home, altough part of the Army will remain in Parsia, for uprisings of various kind are ought to happen.

Congratulations! Yoe IV has successfully concluded a military campaign!

1195 AD, Summer

You return triumphiantly to Methe, leading the parade of victorious soldiers, carrying much of loot! The Royal Treasury accounts that the captured jewelry, gold and coinage amounts for what your silver mines make in two years.

Quote
Heads

What to do with part of the loot?

A) Give it to the people of Methiant, let them know I'm generous!
B) Throw a big party for me and my soldiers!
C) Put it into the Treasury, of course!

6158
You sample the local variety of food and drink.

Sugarfruit! Heartplums! Sweetdrums! And plenty, plenty of wine, all of it red, yellow and purple like finest royal fabric.

Quote
Tails, tails

As the moon begins its ride downwards towards the horizon, you lie on a large table-bed-thing, wearing nothing but copious amounts of jewelry, strips of silk, indulging in wine and grapes served by two nubile and loincloth-only-wearing (former) slaves. They're so energetic and so pretty to the eyes, and you reckon they must be twins. The girl dances on your lap most lovingly, and her brother's sweet lips are just as good on your tongue as the wine.

Is this the splendor and decadence of the Parsians? Wine, parties, pretty things??

What do you think about it, babe?

A) Gotta walk like a Parsian from now on! Get me the dresses and the pastries!
B) I want more of this. I better move my capital here! Parties forever!!
C) This is the type of leisure every Emperor needs every so often (and away from his wife, too).

...A roll instead of a coin flip for Hedonism stuff? Is this a sign Yoe is making progress against his negative trait?

Sorry, I got it mixed up.

6160
You demand the crown of King of Parsia, and they happily fork it over for their relative safety.

You have just conquered Parsia! Is it a reason to celebrate, you ask yourself?

Quote
Tails

Of course it is!

You throw a big party inside the Parsian palace, where Parsian ladies and pretty servant boys dance away to the night amongst scorched walls and dried bloodstains. Your soldiers make sure that everyone is safe and secure from potential angry inhabitants of the city, who were mostly in hands of Simian slavemasters or executions anyway. Simians decided not to partake in the party, instead they're busying themselves counting up the cattle and wealth they've acquired for their Emperor.

As the night progresses, wine flows freely, and your eyes wander around the masses in the audience room.

You decide to...

A) Sample the local variety of food and drink.
B) Sample the local variety of something else.

6161
A. And yes, most good conquerors who managed to survive long and conquer lots of stuff at least started out as being careful when injured and made sure to rest. We don't want a situation like Alexander the Great, who decided that having a party and heavily drinking would be a good idea fairly soon after he had taken a liver injury and ended up dying. Oh god, I just realized that is actually a possibility due to our hedonist trait.

Oooooh :vc

You decide to rest.

Quote
5*

Three days pass, and you get better with every hour.

Before the sun is down, the Parsian nobility (that which survived Simian purges and looting of the city), is brought to you in shackles. According to your soldiers, these are councilmembers of Parsia, also responsible for murdering your Vizier (they tossed him from the highest tower once they've got the news you betrayed them). Your soldiers are also packed up with loot; money, precious jewels, sacred bowls and cups, idols and statuettes. Most of it will end in Methiantese treasury, for the wealth of Karasau was truly immense; some of the wealth will end in your soldiers' pockets, but they deserve it.

The Parsians kneel in front of you, weeping and begging for mercy.

You decide to...

A) Let them go free, and let all Parsia live in shame.
B) Demand their submission as vassals of Methiant.
C) Demand the crown of Kings of Parsia to be given to you!

6162
@Democratic Union:

There is a lots of construction going on this winter.

Sudetenavik's Phase!

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

6163
You decide to retreat. Your soldiers quickly catch on what is happening, and under heavy escort you're taken through the city and outside the gates, to the Army's camp where the surgeons and healers can patch you up.

Quote

They stop the bloodloss and patch the wound.

Somehow however, the city remains in Parsian hands and fighting continues even into the afternoon; the commanders are arguing with the healers whether you should take control of the Army for the last hours of fighting.

A) I better rest for now.
B) I've told you, tis but a scratch!

6164
You pass the Flagbearer to one of your aides, raise your Sword of Puncturing, and CHAAAARRRGEE!

Quote
3*

You two clash and you fail to do much than pry open one of the steel plates.

You feel however that your own armor has been pierced, and so was your body! Pain rings in your ears as you feel the tunic underneath the mail to get wet from your blood.

But there's no stopping now, Alalkan's turning his armored horse around for another pass!

Quote
6*

This time, however, you triumph! The sword strikes deep into Alalkan's armored collar, and he falls off his horse, producing a truly monstrous crash when his body hits the dirt. The Cataphracts, seeing their leader lifeless on the ground, are thrown into chaos, and many of the rout while few take charge against your men, who, invigorated by your spectacular victory, charge them and mow them down easily. So much for their fabled courage and invicibility!

Quote

However, once the adrenaline wears off a bit, you feel terrible numbness in your body. Only then you notice that your pants, on the right side, are stained with blood, which is even dripping down onto the road. The lance must've struck deeper than you've thought! You barely will yourself into not collapsing.

A) Tis a flesh wound!
B) I must retreat!

6165
You ride toward the capital!

Quote
Auto6!*

You arrive at the gates of the keep with ease, you and your soldiers crushing all opposition that stands in your way.

But then! With loud goat trumpets, the gate of the citadel opens and a unit of fabled Cataphracts sails out! They pour out onto the street, decked from hooves of their horses to the tops of their heads in steel plates, the most decorated one moving to the front and pointing his lance at you. You only see his eyes, nose and beard.

"Yoe of Methiant!" The man booms. "Traitor and a backstabber! For once behave like a man and face me, King Alalkan!" You've heard stories that in his youth Alalkan of Parsia preferred civil talk and diplomatic solutions over bloodshed, but nowadays, in his middle age, he seems more than eager to stab your guts out.

You decide to...

A) HELP ALALKAN DIE WITH HONOUR!!!
B) Ask one of your soldiers to shoot the fool down, for he has exposed face.
C) Order your men into the melee. There will be no duels!
