You write two letters; one in which you use flattery to express your hopes for eternal friendship between east and west. The other is a letter of warning to the Parsian court, telling them of your agents' findings and that they should prepare for possible war with Gubta.

1194 AD, Late Autumn

You receive a reply from Mahjar Sim.

It is a short letter in he assures you that Simian Empire owes much friendship to the Empire of Methiant for helping it recover from its lows and regain its ancient glory. For this, Mahjar Sim personally views Yoean Dynasty as friends for time eternal.

1194 AD, Winter

As the news of Queen Mother Eirika's death reach your palace, the Trade advisor presents you report on the profits made from fur trade.

Quote
1to3

They were rather dissappointing. At least hard silver and golden coinage is made from the bullion.

Some courtiers wonder if you should visit Cydwyl on the occassion of Eirika's funeral.

A) I will send some courtiers as my representatives.
B) I will send my wife in my place.
C) I will go with most of my family and a grand entourage of hundred courtiers!
D) Eh, nah.
E) I will arrive with my wife, few important courtiers and some servants.
F) I will send a letter of condolences to the Cydwyllian court.

You swear loyalty to her (and her bedchamber) and sweeten the promise with a hastily made serenade.

Quote

It seems to have soothed her worries and her anger, for she forgives you after you're done singing.

1194 AD, Mid-Autumn

Quote

The Spymaster bumps into you and tips his hat.

"An urgent report from my agents in Sim Empire, my liege. They've obtained information about possible invasion of Parsia by the Gubtans, and their Sim Emperor. Mahjar Sim apparently is using the money obtained from Methiant to fund troops and mercenaries, as well as sway noblemen and priests to support his plans."

As for Simians themselves, you decide to...

A) Thank the Spymaster for this information and let him return to his work.
B) Preemptively declare war against the Sim Empire!!
C) Write a letter to Sim Emperor in which you hope that cooperation will thrive forever between Sim Empire, Methiant, and Methiantese allies like Parsia.

As for funds being sent into Simian Treasury...

A) We need those trade goods of theirs!
B) Let's stop buying t'chai leaves to make them think about this.
C) Let's stop buying spices to make them think about this.
D) Stop all trade with this warmongering Mahjar Sim at once!

As for warning of the Parsians...

A) Obviously, we can't keep them in the dark!
B) There's no need to.

6273
You fall to her feet and beg for forgiveness because your loins directed you to a random noble girl (which, you add with haste, have ordered to leave).

"Well, I understand that you're an uncontrollable enthusiast of bodily pleasures. I've heard the rumors but today's betrayal hurts nonetheless." She stops her work and gives you a death glare worthy of an archnemesis.

"Don't ever do that again, or else." She threatens.

You decide to...

A) Calmly and politely refuse to be ordered around by your wife.
B) Reason with her that for your mental 'health', some side 'fun' is absolutely necessary.
C) Agree with her and once more swear loyalty (with a sweet serenade on top).

6274
You stop both of you abruptly and tell her that this cannot continue; you have a wife, and she is bound to be promised to someone and bear his children instead. Confused, scared and a bit remorseful, the girl finally comes to her senses.

She slaps you, hisses that you were using her to sate your primal urges, and leaves in a huff.

Few hours later, you return to your wife. Wihemina, embroidering a small tunic, looks at you for two brief moments before returning to her work.

"Have you been busy much today, Yoe?" She asks, not taking her eyes away from the fabric. You sweat while your northern wife calmly works on the cloth. Does she know? Did she send the noble girl to test you? Oh gods, did she plan this??

A) I ain't done a girl thing!
B) Admit what you've done.

I don't want no more Misc thing! D:

You decide to pass on the tax. The Treasurer will keep a copy of the project in the Edicts' library just in case.

1194 AD, Midsummer

Your father decides to return home, seeing that you haven't embroiled yourself in another scandal. Your wife, seemingly exhausted from your mutual 'championship tourneys' every night, decides to frequent your bedroom less than usual.

Glasswork and Springwine sales brought similar profits, while Spices had better sales compared to last year. Aromatic t'chai leaves however soothed the minds of your upset peoples, and brought quite some profits as well.

Her lips are like softest pastries, her breasts akin to large, juicy fruits, and her body's heat explains that she is well attracted to you.

Of course we're not talking about your wife, but about this young noble girl. One day your gaze fell upon her buttocks, and then you saw her gaze look you up and down. Took you but few hours to corner her in remote part of the palace, and you two has been locked in hot, comprimising position for a while now, in this dusty storeroom, on this sturdy low table.

As she makes sounds of total pleasure under your careful, steady movements, a brief thought sparks in your mind, which is...

A) That I should stop at once and send her away!
B) That a mistress on the side only befits an Emperor!
C) That she makes a better wife than Wihemina already!

6277
You decide to send the loyal bits of Army to stamp out the rebels!

Quote
6

The loyal soldiers, outraged that their colleagues would turn their backs on such a proud and militaristic dynasty like Yoean, fight thrice harder to restore the Army's reputation. Thousands die, of course, but the rebel pockets are destroyed within a month!

1194 AD, Summer

During reevaluation, a certain young trader-turned-accountant in the Treasury has came up with a novel but potentially very controversional idea; he has noted that noblemen with holdings and Methiantese earn quite a lot, but because they usually keep their households and families small, the usual tax received by the Treasury from these rich guys is rather small.

Therefore, this Aide of Treasury, Beor Gaiwonn is his name, is proposing that the Crown establishes a new tax what would be called 'Scaling Tax' - a certain percentage tax that would affect certain men who earn certain amount of money, and would take a certain but equal part of money from them (he proposes 5%).

The senior officials in the Treasury and most of the courtiers are opposed to this, however, citing traditional priviledges, low stability in the country and simple absurdism of punishing those who are successful in life with an additional tax!

A) But think of the profits! I shall stamp the approval of this Scaling Tax at once!
B) That sounds like an abhorrent idea. Mister Beor is abhorrent. Remove him from my Court!
C) Maybe later it could be a better time for this, but now, I shall pass on this tax.

6278
You decide that corrupt, lazy and unfit must be removed from Methiant, even if it will thin its numbers!

1194 AD, Late Spring

Quote

Garrisons across Methiant refuse to be subject to purges! There has been several armed revolts in Ceodwell and Felonsein (with numerous dead and wounded), and armed resistance to your policy is mounting up at border with Lametania, where resistance to your shake-up is the strongest. Few keeps already have been overtaken by the disloyal scum that once called itself your soldiers!

A) Try to negotiate with the rebels, they must see the light of my decision!
B) Fight fire with fire - send in the loyal Army troopers to kill the rebels!
C) Maybe the purging was a bad idea. I can still back out of it, right? Right?

6279
You decide against any edicts or budgetary decisions.

1194 AD, Spring

True to their word, the dwarves (from Zasitost), fetch you several wagons of silver which, as your Treasurer computed, indeed equal a yearly output of Methiantese silver mines.

The dwarves are given a stamped letter in which you acknowledge their fulfilment of the deal, and the dwarves leave without further ado.

Few days later a grand procession of Cydwyllian nobles arrive, along with your new wife, Wihemina!

The girl is pretty, you have to admit. Unlike most of northerners, her hair is black, and she has a bright skin, steel-blue eyes and it wouldn't be a lie if you said her breasts are one of largest you have seen so far in your short life.

Quote

The ceremony proceeds without incident, fortunately.

Later that night, Wihemina wears down your loins because of what she coerced you to do - experimental with about thirty-some, rather taxing yet, strangely satisfactory performances from this 'Book of Pleasure' she has taken from her mother's library (and the book demanded participation from various body parts, from nipples to toes!). By the time you call for truce, the sun is already up and shining down upon the Empire with all its glory.

Her parents leave a week later, your father stays to watch over you a while longer.

1194 AD, Mid-Spring

The report presented by the Quartermaster of the Army is a great worry on your mind; apparently, he has been writing down a general report on the Army's doing and it seems that your soldiers aren't what they're used to be. Sure, Methiantese Army is still the best Army - at least in the minds of its own officers! Training regimen was lax as of late, new recruits unruly and stubborn, and budgetary concerns of the officers was mostly food, capes, fancy hats and other provisions rather than sharp steel and sturdy armor.

You decide to...

A) Fire the Quartermaster, he is belitting the name of our great Army!
B) I cannot let this low standard of Army to prevail - it's time for a shake-up!

So a army of 1 in my second example would be bigger in numbers or it's just that we can pull more population to refill it again when it's needed?

Higher population, faster refills, yes.

There was a change of what 1 Army means; in earlier times when your nation wasn't that big, 1 = 1000 soldiers. Now I believe I enlarged it to 2~2.5k? I know Criptfeind was involved in my changing of mind ;vc

Haspen, what's your favourite part of running SpamKingdom?

When people are sure that some more or less crazy idea gonna work.

And then they roll a 1.

it always made me a bit confused, if it's proportional what would be the difference in-game of having population of 8 in a small land (methiant in the beginning of the game for example) and population of 8 in a giant land (methiant-cydwyll after being united)

More manpower for army, and this stat ain't listed anywhere ;v

To precede another question: Army stat shows the amount of currently combat-ready troops.

What do the Dwarves think of us and our people?

That you're somewhat OK.

A: When will we next get the option to colonize?
B: Is there the possibility that a large portion of our population is practicing other religions in private to avoid persecution?

If there will be a rush to settle, you will be notified of possible sponsorship. Otherwise peeps do it (very slowly) on their own.

Why would there be persecution of religion, though? v:

what's up with that Mistemon lands?

Dorf hall also responsible for slight reduction of Elven forest to the west. Their ballsiest endeavour so far.

How densely populated is the Damdamian Republic? With Parsia under our influence and Cydwyl close to personal union with us we'll be pretty close to them soon in terms of land area, but if I remember right Cydwyl is mostly featureless steppe and Parsia is mostly featureless desert.

Related, what would annexing Cydwyl and Parsia do to our population score?

There are cities upon cities upon villages upon fortresses in the south and west, the coastal areas always were the Damdamian core lands and their first Republican capital was on the coast too (today's it would be in Spania). North and far east are considered somewhat of a frontier, and the central division lines are slightly less populated also due to decades of fighting between The Empire and The Republic.

Cydwyl would bump it up by a 1, Parsia would not.

You name your father, King Cyl of Cydwyl, as your heir. This will no doubt cause some legal consternation in both nations, but your word is law.

1193 AD, End of the Year

You dread the moment in which the Advisor comes in to present you the Scrolls of Kingdom Status. How bad was the Empire affected by your scandal and the currency reevaluation?

Quote

Happiness: 4
Population: 4
Economy: 2
Army: 10!
Imp.Authority: -2
Inflation: 1/8 (+1)

You grimace rather hard.

"Sire, your authority and happiness of the people are very low; the state of the Empire didn't let your Statesmen or the Crown to mend that. What's the most pressing issue at the moment is the Imperial Treasury. Some courtiers do recognize the fact that our Army is keeping its full budget intact, and are wondering if it should be slashed for a year. Some call for extra taxes for peasants as an emergency measure."

A) "We can cut down Army's budget for a year, it's not doing any fighting anyways."
B) "Budget cuts for the Army plus taxes should get us back into green in no time!"
C) "Just raise taxes for a year and we will be fine."
D) "We do not need such extreme measures yet!"

"It is a pity that people believe the Emperor's office to be so weak. They might not like an Edict, but perhaps you wish to issue one?"

A) "Of course, it's my inaugural Edict after all!"
B) "Let's keep it quiet for the time being."

"Also, the Cartographers have updated the Royal Map and here it is." The Advisor shows you the big-ass scroll.
