You have the gifts accepted.

1173 AD, Autumn

Harvests across Methiant has been bontiful lately, both to good weather and expertise of Hurthlings, and few other factors. Therefore, the people of Methiant clamor for a harvest festival dedicated to show the gratitude to gods of harvests and earth and nature and all other types for this. Peasants, officials and priests ask the Crown to sponsor festivities.

A) Nah, we ain't got coin for dat.
B) Open up the wine bottles!!

You suggest that it would be good for actual healers to try and cure Bjeda.

The surgery is done, but Bjeda does not feel better. Instead, after week of increasing agony and pain, she succumbs to infection and inflammation of the wound. Courtiers are outraged, and some noblemen have the ire to blame you for Bjeda's death.

1173 AD, Summer

An urgent report arrives from Orcworld Fortress; the beakmen have returned with gifts; this time they've brought a lot of stone and clay tablets, murals and idols. Your scholars were awestruck at the quality of the stonework especially, the beakmen must have access to some quality metal tools to etch such fine and delicate lines into otherwise brittle stones.

The beakmen themselves are quite enthusiastic about their wares, and from their frantic grunting and chirping and exposition of their gifts, your scholars came to a sudden realization - these are not gift-givers, these might be missionaries. Even before language barrier has been broken, the beakmen are already attempting to gain followers for their faith amongst your unfeathered brethren. Your scholars assume that their religion is related to some giant bird (or birds) and an even larger thing than them all - the sun.

The commander in his report inquiries about course of action in this situation.

A) Eugh, missionaries! Repel them at once!
B) Give them scriptures and idols and tablets of religious kind from Methiant.
C) Politely accept the gifts.

Would have been nice to have an option to keep Physical Training instead of having it decided for us

Step 1: Grab whichever handbook is most suitable for u
Step 2: Add a spoiler titled 'Changes'
Step 3: Start a new game.

Simples! ;v

Silverwork got some coin into the Treasury.

1173 AD, Mid-Spring

Irvalina of Eldrican arrives to marry Hein!

You eagerly meet with your somewhat distant cousin, but a cousin nonetheless, and enter a chatty party time.

You learn that quite a few noblemen has been removed from power in recent decade by Tetan, and that silver mines at Koi have been in steep decline for past decade. What silver was brought of them last year was forged into some jewelry that makes Irvalina's personal trinkets for her future life as Princess of Methiant.

She then delves into more mundane topics, like bones of hippogryphs being dug out in southeastern Eldrican, and it seems that people again believe in their healing prophecies. Uh, hippogryph powder is so last century! Irvalina, in her chatter, reveals that silver and gold has been scarce in Tetan's treasury last year; instead, copper coins as well as foreign money fill it up, the break-up of Damdamians allowing Tetans' merchants to hook up several sweet trade deals with the southern kingdoms and states.

Wishing Irvalina happy and good wifedom, you give her away into Hein's hands.

The two marry in a somewhat moderate ceremony, with many local guests attending (you, of course, included).

1173 AD, Late Spring

Bjeda, your mother-in-law, is sick in bed!

The healers have found some strange growth in her abdomen, near her womb. They want to stuff her full of mineral and herbal tinctures and to sew some healing herbs into her abdomen, but Pantheonists have already prepared rituals for the God of Healing, to ask him to cure Bjeda of her ails, lest she dies so young. This has already caused some bickering at your court.

A) Obviously not my problem, this.
B) Healers are wise and learned in ways of medicine, they know what they're doing!
C) Such a strange illness requires something extra. Let us pray to God of Healing!

Well, this has been one right train wreck of a decade.

It's been barely 2 years so far, I will point out V:

Overlady?

Apparently not. Do I go with sovereign? Suzerain?

* Haspen must go deeper into feudal nomenclature!

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, Suzerain is just what I need: 'The terminology gradually became generalised to refer to any relationship in which one region or people controls the foreign policy and international relations of a tributary state, while allowing the tributary nation to have internal autonomy.[1] Modern writers also sometimes use the term suzerain to refer to a feudal lord, in regard to their relationship to their vassals.'

Enough time passed and enough votes were made. Let's go!

1172 AD, Late Winter

You are Ruberta, daughter of Aeldaun! You have been just now selected by the Council of Methiant as its next ruler, an Empress! And to think your father told you, when you were smol, that you will probably end as consort to one of Eldrican noblemen. Funny how that goes, but that would be another indicator that luck is your strength.

You consider what to regnal name to take, but there's not many amongst Methiantese noblewomen. Therefore, you decide to supplant your own!

All hail Empress Ruberta of Methiant, Queen of Felonsein and Ceodwell, Suzerain of Donuth, Tiftit and Eval!

Somehow, most of the important people consider 'Bjern's' passing as a good thing. It seems that loss of a leader concerned them less than possible demon summonings he might've carried out.

1172 AD, End of the Year

The last month was spent on preparations and paperwork, and now comes time for even more paperwork! It is that strange time when the Advisor visits their sovereign in their rooms and present them those mystical Scrolls of Kingdom Status.

You believe they really should just make a new copy every year; these scrolls, almost a century old, seem to be growing mold and acquired black pigmentation from overwriting on them. Kinda yucky.

"Your Highness, our Armt failed to get enough recruits to refill its numbers yet, and the authority of the office of Empress is a bit lacking despite all efforts made. Still, do you wish to honour your ascension with issueing of an Edict?"

A) Better not.
B) But of course!

//Actually, I forgot to add income from gemstones, silver and gold, so that's false alarm, the Economy is doing alright!
