You decide to sponsor festivities.

Quote

The festivities were had. And there was much rejoicing, or so your overly optimistic courtiers say.

1171 AD, Late Autumn

The Spymaster bumps into you when you're on your way to your chambers to get some rest.

"My liege, I bring urgent report from Ysirene. My agents have found the whereabouts of your brother Saenn, his wife, and their newly born son. They've settled in a small village in central Ysirene, not far from the border with Damedian state. My agents await your instructions what to do with your stubborn and uncooperative relative."

A) Eliminate the entire family.
B) Capture them and bring them here.
C) Eliminate Saenn.
D) Observe them for now.
E) Demand his return to Methiant.

7067
You decide to keep the production on current levels.

1171 AD, Mid-Autumn

The fertile lands of Empty Plain are dragging much more brave pioneers than previously thought. Settlement grants will surely amount to some expenses this year.

Meanwhile, the harvests at Tiftit and elsewhere in Methiant has been pretty bontiful this autumn! Many people of both lower and higher classes clamor for festivals, and Pantheonist priests say it would be surely a good moment to donate upon altars of the gods of harvest, earth and life.

A) No, you see, a smart man saves money for later.
B) Go get some drinks! It's party time!

7068
You thank the diplomat for his arrival and proclaim that you will write King Estjald a letter of apology.

Alissa and her children are made guests of the palace and are free to stay as long as they want. Lady Alissa leaves the audience room without a word.

Few hours later you let the envoy go back home with your letter of apology in his hands.

1171 AD, Autumn

Reports from Orcworld indicate that your troops have destroyed over fifty smaller and larger encampments of the orcs, killing at least three thousand of them.

Springwine brought some profits; the goldwork fared much better this year, however!

A reply arrives from King Estjald. He has accepted your apology and decided to uphold the treaty of alliance between your nations. He wishes that Alissa and her children both remain under your care and do not come back to Cydwyl, as it is no longer their home.

Report comes from the gold mines in the northwest. The local prospectors have found even more gold veins around the place, which could allow the mining enterprise to be expanded, thus bringing much more bullion per year to the Imperial coffers.

A) Nah, steady is the name of the game.
B) Awww yeeeeah, gimme dat shiny gold!

@Atian:

You already have 4 Improvements in Noyama province ;v

You decide to meet with the emissary in public.

"King Estjald denounces this outrageous attempt at chaos, Emperor!" The diplomat proclaims loudly shortly after walking into the audience room.

"With much grief, King Estjald will have to reconsider the alliance treaty we have with Methiant, because lately you and your courtiers seem to be actively undermining the friendship between our nations, unless you make amends and apologize to him and Cydwyllian court."

"And what of Llewyn? My son must be made heir!" Alissa shouts from her chair, and the diplomat scoffs. He then opens up a scrolls and begins to read.

"'This is the will of sovereign King Estjald of Cydwy. Hereby I proclaim that my brother Cyl, is to be made heir and successor to the throne of Cydwyl in case of my death or incapacitation. So signeth I, King Estjald, on tenth day of Midsummer of year one thousand hundred seventy one.' And this is the copy of his will, may I present it to you." The diplomat approaches your throne and hands you the paper. Signature and royal seal of Cydwyl are genuine, you can tell.

"And here is the second paper - an edict of exile for you, Lady Alissa, as well as Princess Llewyn, Tolin and Aron." He hands you the second document, and again, you can't see any mark of forgery with your skilled eye. You quickly pass the documents to the Advisor for a quick check-up.

"This is an outrage!" Yells Alissa.

"I am the true heir of Cydwyl!" Llewyn echoes after her.

"An outrage is the despicable manner in which you left the palace of your King, Lady Alissa, taking your children, only to scheme and plot behind King Estjald's back with people whom he considered his most trusted allies!" The envoy replies, only angering Alissa more.

"If he made his will clear instead of collaborating with shadowy people, if he had not ignored my polite inquiries, there would be no such situation!"

"King Estjald wished to see if your son, besides his good health, had any traits indicative of a good ruler, compared to the well-renowned and charismatic man that is Cyl. My liege told me that 'Patience is a virtue, and Lady Alissa has none'. These are words of King Estjald." Alissa's pure red face indicates that she is near boiling point, while Llewyn is gripping on his sword so hard that his knuckles are turning white. The Advisor approaches you and leans to whisper.

"The seals are genuine. Those are truly documents signed by King Estjald." Courtiers are murmuring at your court, and there are many whispering conversations. Clearly, the noblemen are split on this whole issue. This situation will require delicate manuevering, lest your courtiers get unhappy or your authority plummets.

Of course, the decisions are in your hands.

As for relationship with King Estjald of Cydwyl...

A) Write a formal letter of apology.
B) Do nothing.
C) Dissolve the alliance and declare war against the scoundrel!
D) Send him valuable gifts.
E) Renounce the alliance treaty once and for all!

As for Lady Alissa and her kids...

A) Offer to make your palace her new home.
B) Kick them out for dragging you in this terrible mess.
C) Promise to make whatever you can to ensure that she and her kids return to Cydwyl.

You decide to send spies into Cydwyl to find out Estjald's plans.

Furious, you dismiss the Spymaster after he delivers the report of failure and susbequent capture of his spies by Estjald's courtiers.

Few hours later, the guards come to tell you that a Cydwyllian emissary has arrived, and demands an audience with you.

A) To the audience room, then!
B) Tell him to go back, I'm kinda busy.
C) Lead him to one of the side chambers.

No, they gave out magic to humans who didn't have any magic prior :V

By 500s-600s there was scant few magical humans left, and nowadays only elves and dwarves have any innate magic left from all peoples of spamworld.

According to legend, have dwarves and elves always been a part of the world, or did they appear after humanity?

I'm curious if there's an elfworld and dwarfworld somewhere.

Elves and dwarves are native to Spamworld, if that's what you're asking.

Currently only Orcs are 'immigrants' from outside world, in this case, Orcworld.

Hmm. I don't think I ever asked this but was magic always weakening throughout the game or did it start weakening after the start of the original SPAMKINGDOM? Could we have stopped in from weakening if we had taken actions to strengthen it earlier?

Gradually weakening since Descent (Year 0).

You decide against Edicts, but send a word to your generals - a crusade against Orcs needs to be launched!

1171 AD, Spring

Already hundreds of soldiers and dozens of wagons of equipment is being prepared to move into Orcworld.

Silverwork trade brought bigger profits compared to the last time!

1171 AD, Mid-Spring

Peace came to Damdamia!

The nobles and governors and royals and republicans have decided to split the country. The margraves and statesmen who decided to become their own rulers will retain their titles; the Holy Damdamian Empire has been divided in three. Its core lands now lie in the west, where most of monarchist sentiment remains. Ten states belong to the federation under the Emperor, amongst them are Margraviate of Tiallia, State of Tocana, and eight Duchies, located chiefly in the south.

Damdamian Republic has been reborn, the numerous city-states and republican nations forming a new Senate in the middle lands. They've already elected their first Consul, and signed a treaty of non-aggression with Kingdom of Ysirene.

Damedia, a new state, has been created in the lands surrounding the city of Amad, where the main temple of Damed resides. The theocracy is independent, although with only token military force.

Far to the south, there are two small kingdoms, Cadia and Spania, which are oriented toward trade. While small, they govern over most of trade ports of the former Republic (and Empire), and thus will surely play a major role in politics.

All of the states agree to keep the peace as brothers in faith, although how long this peace will last, nobody knows. For now, everyone in former Damdamia has something to do, something to call 'home' and something to look for in the future.

1171 AD, Summer

The crusade against Orcs has begun; four divisions of three thousand men and horses are moving in fan-like dispersion to the south and west of the Orcworld Fortress. Several smaller groups of orcs have been found and eradicated, along with two larger camps.

Goldenwork sold on Rucusian markets have brought profits comparable with those from silverwork! The Treasurer and other officials are glad to see the bullion and the coins circulate in healthy ways.

1171 AD, Midsummer

During a violent summer storm, you pass the times of darkness in the library, reading books about fanciful creatures and tales of old. Your pleasant time is rudely interrupted by a guard, who announces that you have guests, who came up to the palace's gates on foot.

"Who wishes for an audience in such unpleasant weather?" You ask, and the guard bows in respect.

"Sire, Alissa of Cydwyl and your grand-nephews, Llewyn, Tollin and Aron are begging for a meeting with you."

You hastily make your way downstairs and meet with them in dimly lit chamber. Your wife Bjeda and your son, Bjern, also arrive a short while later, surely disturbed by Alissa's arrival. The family gathers around the table. Few trusted servants bring water, some springwine for Alissa, and plates of meats and bread for the weary travelers to snack upon - except for little Aron who seems to have a voracious appetite, the rest of your relatives from the north seem not to be hungry.

"Thank you for receiving us, Emperor." Alissa smiles, although the smile is forced; as if she was fearful of something. "It's about King Estjald. Recently I begun to ask him about Llewyn's ascension, for Estjald has no bride and has sired no heirs of his own, but each time I'm being rejected with an excuse. He has written no will nor decree who will succeed him. And recently, I've been receiving news that apparently Estjald has been meeting a lot with his Spymaster and other shady figures."

"Grand-uncle!" Llewyn stands up. "My mother tries to say, that there might be a conspiracy to see me and by brothers killed to strengthen uncle Estjald's rule. Who knows, maybe he has always been jealous of my late father's throne, and wishes to keep it forever!"

"Emperor Yoe, I beg you." Alissa claps her hands together. "Truly, the dreaded shadow of tyranny looms over Cydwyl. Please, ensure Llewyn's ascension to the throne, or at least convince Estjald to guarantee it in writing!"

A) "You're clearly over-reacting. Nobles of Cydwyl made Estjald king out of their own will, and I'm sure the crown will peacefully pass into your son's hands one day or another."
B) "I will shelter you for now, and meanwhile I will send a letter to Estjald, inquiring about this situation, the future of Cydwyl, and his current plans for continuation of the dynasty."
C) "I will shelter you for now, and meanwhile I shall send my agents to ascertain Estjald's plans. If he has spies and agents in his employ, it's only natural for us to counter them with agents and spies in my employ."
D) "My own family was chased out of their rightful home by a man who has given in to the shadows? This shall not stand! I will show Estjald the error of his ways - by sword and lance!"

7078
//I forgot to mention silverwork being sold; it was a 1 so you got nothing outta the sale, unfortunately!

You order them to send another party to the mountains in Orcworld.

1170 AD, Midwinter

Empress Iva of Holy Damdamian Empire has died, and with her, died the hardline monarchist support. The republicans, the theocrats, the royalists and the kings and dukes across the gigantic mess of a state agreed to a truce and are going to host a large council in the city of Daris, to discuss the future political and territorial layout of the Damdamian nation, with the young Emperor Hadrian presiding over said council, the scholarly son of Iva himself being a populist and reformer.

Maybe this time Damdamians will get their shit together.

1170 AD, Late Winter

1170 AD, End of the Year

Mm, those salty fried pork scraps are delicious! One would consider them food of the peasants, but you have to say the kitchen's leftovers can be as tasty as your royal meals.

Oh, here is the Advisor! Better wipe your oily fingers, lest the Scrolls of Kingdom Status get dirty.

"Sire, this has been a very bad year for your authority. Not even your statesmen and the crown's magical power, if it truly has any, helped to strengthen your image in the eyes of your subjects."

"The Army grows a bit discontent, too. They clamor for some war; otherwise, they complain, the discipline is taught for naught and the glorious arms and weapons of Methiant grow in rust and mold."

A) No wars!
B) Let's bully the Parsians again!
C) Gotta kick those Lametanian nuts!
D) Time to force our friendship on the Cydwyl!
E) A crusade against Orcworld Orc commences!
F) About time we settle the business with Eldricans!
G) How about a rematch with the Rucusians!

"Despite the abyssmal authority of your office, I have to ask whether you shall issue an Edict this year?"

A) Sure!
B) Nope!
