You dismiss the Parsian envoy.

Few days later you receive a report; Parsian riders have broken into Tiftit Valley! They're not interested in conquest however, but pillage and destruction; they're destroying vineyards and farmfields, killing Hurthlings and torching their clan houses, which, per their traditions, are built on or are partially embedded into the hillsides.

The commanders of the outposts in Tiftif are doing what they can, but they were prepared for actual invasion force and not few hundred swiftly moving pillagers.

A) Bah! Then they should leave the garrisons and chase them out of the valley!
B) Our home soil has been attacked! This calls for emergency mobilization!
C) We need assistance - let's call our vassal, Evalians, to provide cavalry forces!

You write down the date on a piece of scroll.

Furs once more provide very nice profits.

A report comes from the Army in Parsia; they've taken several more garrisons, and gathered information about the Gubtas; they've fought the Parsians into stalemate.

The Parsian envoy, Shamsham Thot, arrives at your court! His copper skin is certainly exotic and his beard is curled upwards just like his shoes. His robes are of finest ketton cloth, dyed white, purple and green.

"Greetings, Emperor Yoe! I am Shamsham Thot, envoy of most magnaminous Prince Manipur, soon King of all Parsia! Your treachery and penchant for backstabbery has been noted, and Prince Manipur has no time to deal with you. He has made a wise guess about your hopes for spoils and loot in this war. Therefore he offers to give away the lands that his father, Shapur, has bought from your father, Cyl, if you agree to ten years of truce and peace between our nations. So speaketh Shamsham Thot, voice of Prince Manipur, the Greatest of Parsia!

A) "That is not enough. Give me more!"
B) "This offer is so cheap it insults me! Begone Thot!!"
C) "Your master is indeed wise. I accept the deal!"

Are Aliens a thing? Like actual, bonified space aliens?

Is the world flat? Or is it round?

Dunno, haven't met any yet :P

It is round, but no one circumnavigated it yet.

Happy Birthday!

You decide to meet with the Parsian envoy.

1166 AD, Same night...

The voracious centipede that your wife mutated into has been devouring your soldiers amidst screams of horror and the flashing purple lights of the opened RIFT in the skies. Your children, all turned into murderous meaty, bone-less abominations are sloshing across the buildings in the capital, collapsing them with their bloated weight.

Then your wife screeches and charges at you, crushing numerous soldiers that were standing between you and her. Her mandibles move down toward you to take your head off in one clean bite.

You wake up and sit on the bed. You're still in your palace, in your bedroom, in your bed. Your dearest wife is snoozing at your side.

This was just a nightmare. Surely eating all those roasted mushrooms and pork stew late in the evening was a bad idea. However, the details already murky and the abominations in your dream no longer having shape, there's a date etched in your mind as if burned with a branding iron. You saw the date on the Imperial tome that you were reading at the very start of your dream. No, not a complete date; it was just a year. Yes...

Which year was it again...?

A) 1234 AD
B) 1337 AD
C) 1269 AD
D) 1300 AD

7193
Definitely.

What became of the dwarves who fled deeper underground when we sacked their fortress? Did they escape somehow, or were they just hiding in a mineshaft until the coast was clear?

Related, what were the dwarves fighting down there shortly before we sacked their fort? I don't remember exactly when that happened but they warned us about the situation but refused our offer to help, then just told us it was dealt with a while later.

They went deeper underground and through all those caves and tunnels, navigated their ways safely to other fortresses.

They dug too deep and released some couple forgotten beasts and such. Took them a while to kill'em all.

While Parsia is on our minds, what has become of Leath's widow, and his offspring by her?

Considering that they are heathens, by heathen, and of royal family, and 3 out of 4 are women, pretty sure that Manipur got or has planned to off them or sell them into slavery.

This is a subplot I/we should address soon, ye ;vc

The other leaders who got the title "The Great", did they also ruled that long or did they got titles faster?

I think the latter? No idea, I don't go that far with world-building :P

You send him a memo in which you ask that greater guard details are to accompany the scholars.

Your soldiers scored another victory against the Parsians! Slowly, your Army is carving its way to Parsian capital.

1166 AD, Late Spring

You hear news about Cydwyl-Helliste war; after initial stalemate, Erik's forces began pushing toward the center of the rival, mercantile kingdom.

Your Army has gievn Parsians a thorough smashing. A force of four thousand Methiantese met with five thousand Parsians, including several hundred of elite Cataphracts. But Thundercats and Deathreeds and Methiantese discipline triumphed over the easterners. A thousand of your soldiers has perished; a thousand of Parsians escaped with their lives.

Few days later, you receive a hurried report. Apparently, Manipur of Parsia has sent an envoy to your advancing Army, and he wishes to begin negotiations.

A) Ha! But I'm not done yet!
B) Send him over, so we can talk terms.

7198
I just remember that the last time people insisted there was a civil war in the Damdamian territories Haspen was like "what the hell are you talking about, they're pretty much good".

Ye, they settled down and there's Damdamian Empire (with Damdamian Republic-states), Damdamian Republics, and some Holy Damdamian Republic and some Damdamian Coastal Republic, plus most of Margraves decided to try out this 'kingdom' thing.

It's a mess, but one that can be easily labeled around. I haven't updated the map yet ;v

You decide to keep the money safely stored.

The Army is doing great work in capturing Parsian garrisons and territories. However, it seems that they've got Manipur's attention, as a big pitched battle between six thousand Methiantese and four thousand Parsians ended in over five thousand casualties, 50-50 split between the two.

The report also suggests that Parsians have not only 'resurrected' their legendary Cataphracts, they've decked them out in steel armor, most probably of Dwarven make, with soft yet insulating padding made of ketton cloth (which plantations have been found near the mountainous areas). Arrows can't even penetrate the Cataphracts' multi-layer armor, while crossbow bolts and Deathreed blasts sometimes get lodged in the steel instead of puncturing it.

Another report brings some disconcerting news; your commanders haven't yet worked out the quirks in tactics involving large-scale use of Deathreeds. The military brass will tinker about it, but it seems that a change in military philosophy of Methiant Army is needed.

Your little Caimhe is dead! The poor girl has been playing on the balconies of the palace a bit too carelessly, and one moment, when the Shadowranks soldiers turned their eyes elsewhere, she climbed on, then slipped off the railing and fell down on the rooftops. The guards and healers could do naught but recover her body and clothe it in finest linen.

You receive happier news from the north; apparently, Queen Alissa gave birth to a child. The third son of hers and King Erik has been named 'Aron' by the Queen.

A week later after this flurry of events, reports and hearsays, you receive a messenger from Orcworld; apparently, the southern expedition has been annihilated! The soldiers of Orcworld Fortress found and destroyed a large nomadic tribe of orcs, who, much to their horror, had wrappings and trophies made from clothes and trinkets of Methiantese origin, many of them recognized by the garrison's men.

The commander of the fortress is asking for guidance.

A) We begin a crusade against the orcish nomads. They are good for naught but vulture feed!
B) It means we need to send greater guard details with other expeditions.
C) Obviously, sending out expeditions is a bad idea. If anyone wants to come over and chat, we will be waiting.

It occured to me I forgot about the Springwine income roll in Autumn; so I just rolled and it was a 2. +1 Economy for you guys!

You decide to stay at the capital.

1165 AD, Late Winter

The Army has crossed the border and has quickly gained control of city of Khosra and surrounding settlements. Parsian resistance, while fierce, has been miniscule at best. Hardly few hundred of Parsian soldiers were defeated.

House of Learning has been completed. The large building with three towers has gathered scholars, alchemists, theologians and healers from all around Methiant. However, this innovative institution has caused many a traditionalist and religious folk to voice their very bad opinions about this, causing unhapiness.

Next day a war council gathers. The Marshal salutes before asking the obvious question.

"Are you going to lead our troops to glory and victory, Emperor?"

A) "VERILYYYYY!"
B) "I'm a scholar, not a warrior. I trust in capabilities of your generals."
