You decide to send troops to Ceodwell and Tiftit, just in case the borders will see the flames of war soon.

1165 AD, Midwinter

There's state of war between Cydwyl and Helliste, as well as Parsia and Gubta!

According to rumors, King Erik hasn't been very happy with price cuts that Helliste merchants are getting on being trade proxies with Chia and Gan Minsong; a round of diplomatic letters later, the Hellistes denounced and insulted King Erik, who has flew into a rage and waged war against the Hellistes, promising to make them pay for this slight on honour.

Strangely, the Cydwyl Kingdom has not called upon Methiant to provide aid.

As for Parsia and Gubta, Manipur has declared a 'purge' of Gubtan heathens and reclamation of ancient temples which has been under influence of 'elephant whores' for way too many centuries now. Thanks to the plague that ravaged the Gubta Empire, its armies and peoples are in disarray. Already Manipur's armies have won three big battles and captured several border forts and villages, enslaving or killing many of those who follow Gubtan faith.

A) Well, for once we're not getting involved.
B) Oh come on, how can Cydwyls be so cruel! We should offer our help anyways!
C) Perhaps this is perfect opportunity to attack Parsia and regain the gold mines that once were part of Ceodwell?

You order the Treasurer to give them the silver they want. It's not much, considering the usual prices for dwarven services.

1165 AD, Late Autumn

Princess Ruberta arrives to marry Bjern! Her actualy beauty checks out with the advertisted one. Her bedchamber maidens, few guards and a matron arrive, along with Aes, brother of King Tetan I. No one else from Eldrican royal family shows up.

Along with usual gifts, there's also a caravan of silver. The Treasurer meets with you after you show the guests their quarters.

"The silver bullion brought by Eldricans could be chalked up to two years of treaty silver we were promised."

"So, fourteen years worth of silver left?" The Treasurer nods.

"Fourteen years left, sire."

The ceremony is a grand, but not extravagant one. For some reason, Bjern, who was enamored with tales about Ruberta, has definitely lost his enthusiasm towards her once he met her in person. Maybe he wished for someone even more beautiful, or talkative (as Ruberta is rather shy), but he does not run away from the altar and fulfills his duties to his new wife, the bedchamber maids report.

Silver and gold arrive in the Treasury, gemstones are sent north...

...and the glassware generates only modest profits.

The Spymaster meets with you, bringing news about Parsia.

"Your Majesty, King Shapur's illness has taken a turn for worse, and he is on his deathbed. His heir Dashir has gone missing, nobody have seen him for over a month. No doubt he was forced into hiding or outright murdered by Manipur who has taken control of the government. Manipur has talked to his courtiers about purging of heathens and reclaiming Parsian glory, and, according to my agents, the courtiers at Parsian palace cheered to these plans. I think it's definitely time for action, sire."

You decide to...

A) Strengthen garrisons in Ceodwell and Tiftit.
B) Ignore the situation for now.
C) Have Manipur quietly 'removed', if possible.
D) Reinforce the borders and try to get Manipur killed.

Laura looked at Tomik, back at Lily, then back at Tomik.

Then she took a comically long breath.

Then she cleared her throat and looked into Tomik's eyes.

"I was in love with you since the very first day but Lily got you first and all mean things I did or said to her was because I was jealous that she and not I, was your girlfriend... Sorry."

7204
Thunk, when the Saunion's shaft. Laura stopped before Tomik and Lily. And others too, but they're less important.

"So okay, if this is time for goodbyes, let's be quick. Goodbye." She looked at Lily.

"Did you tell him my secret or no? To be honest, I think he should know."

7205
You agree to the marriage between the kids. Aes leaves with a written message for Tetan; the wedding is scheduled for Late Autumn.

Later that day you hear from the guards that dwarves established a forge in one of unused dungeon cells, and faint noises of chanting and metal striking metal are coming from the darkness.

1165 AD, Autumn

Terrible thunderstorms and showers hail struck the Methiantese region, but thanks to the Rainbow Scepter's protection, once agian the farmlands were damaged only slightly.

1165 AD, Mid-Autumn

The dwarves appear before you, having finished the artifact you asked for. It is a silver crown, with three dark bands of Sky Iron wrapping around it. A large, milky opal is set in the front of the crown, small intricate stars and triangles engraved into metal are surrounding it.

The leader of the runemasters passes the Crown to you, and you put it in place of your old one. The courtiers, who were murmuring and whispering, go silent and everyone's eyes are affixed at your personage.

"We have finished the item that you have asked for. The pebbles and dust of Sky Iron that remained after the forging has been already gathered by us. Now, we ask to be paid in silver that we agreed upon."

You decide to...

A) Ask the Treasurer to go with them and give them the silver they want.
B) Order the guards to remove the smelly creatures from your audience room!

7206
You ask what about the dowry - specifically, if there will be at least some silver includ-

"Yes. Some silver will be sent as part of the dowry." Aes replies curtly.

A) "Well then, all set. Time to stock up on drinks!"
B) "I decided against the marriage after all, sorry!"

7207
I've spent the better part of a week's spare time reading through the whole of SPAMKINGDOM

Bullshite, it takes months to read all three V:

jk, welcome aboard.

You agree to have a crown of authority created for you.

"So be it. We shall now descend to your dungeons where we shall set up a forge, inside which we shall labor for hundred days and nights, and then we shall surface with the item you requested."

They leave, and the brother of Tetan is let in. Aes looks down at you; he is a very tall man in his forties.

"May Damed bless you, Emperor Yoe. I'm here to negotiate the marriage proposal between niece of my brother, King Tetan, and your family. I believe that your son Bjern is of age, and has no spouse yet? Therefore, how about marrying beautiful Ruberta to him?"

A) "Good idea."
B) "Terrible idea."
C) "Does the dowry include, say, some silver perhaps?"

7208
You decide to meet with the dwarves first.

The smelly runemasters, clad in brown and grey cloaks, arrive, their beards low to the ground and heads bowed in respect.

"Greetings, Emperor Yoe. We've heard that you desire our craftsdwarfship to forge an item from Sky Iron, and so we are here. We've done our research upon your family and your Empire. Therefore we offer to create a crown of sky iron and gemstones, one that will radiate authority and prompt respect in your subjects. Or we can fashion the sky iron into protective ring or bracelet. Of course, a small blade could be made too - a knife, or a spearhead for a lance? Sky Iron causes pain and death to fanciful creatures, we might add. As for our payment, we ask for naught but some of your silver you mine plus the leftover ore of Sky Iron that we won't spend."

A) "This is too much of a price. Let's haggle a bit, shall we?"
B) "A crown radiating authority and instilling respect in people? Count me in!"
C) "My nephew died by terrible curse, a protective item sounds like a good idea!"
D) "An enchanted weapon is always a solid choice. Make one for me!"
E) "On the other hand, I have better use for Sky Iron. You can go home."

7209
You send for the dwarves.

1165 AD, Midsummer

Guards report that two peoples desire an audience. One is Aes, brother of King Tetan I of Eldrican. The other are dwarven runemasters, here to talk about Sky Iron job you had for them.

A) Politics before trinkets!
B) Artifacts before matchmaking!

7210
You decide to try and bring the two nations closer!

Few days later, early in morning, you're busy reading a book about ancestry of the tyrants of Methiant, while your wife is breastfeeding little Deathan. The bed is warm and cozy and you don't feel like getting up just yet.

Suddenly your plans are slashed; because there is a loud soudn akin to a wheeze, then a flash of light and thunderous explosion. Your wife screams and Deathan starts to cry, and courtiers and guards begin to run down the palace's corridors as you peek outside.

Few hours later, your guards come back with a bundle of shiny, pitch black nuggets in a bag.

"Sky Iron, my liege! We found a crater in the farmlands north of the capital. A heavenly rock smashed right into a field of turnips." You know what Sky Iron is; rumored to be magical, it is most often used to create weapons of war or items of holy or royal significance. The Dwarves are known tfor refining it into artifacts, too.

A) Sell the Sky Iron ore, it will surely fetch a good price on the market.
B) Commission some artisans to create jewelry for the Imperial family out of the metal.
C) Send a messenger to the dwarves, offering them to work the ore for you.

H7 and practice acupuncture on Chaos

7212
You decide to pass on the opportunity.

1165 AD, Mid-Spring

Your tutors can't find any good quality about your eldest daughter, Eiri. Althought considering sickness and injury avoided her so far, one could say luck is smiling upon her.

1165 AD, Summer

You've become father again! Bjeda has given birth to a healthy baby boy, whom she named 'Deathan'.

Profits from fur trade have come to the Treasury, albeit they're not as high as in the first years.

A diplomatic report lands in your hands. King Tetan I of Eldrican is looking for a groom for his cousin Ruberta, who is eighteen currently and is of some beauty. Apaprently, this adventurous lady has always dreamt of marrying a foreigner, and King Tetan is looking to fulfill her little desire.

A) Not a match for anyone in my family, sorry.
B) Well, let's play matchmaker then!

7213
No option to send our military into Orc-World?

What do ya guys wanna conquer? Entire civilization of pebbles strewn across the place? :P

You decide to establish the House of Learning. This glorious place of knowledge will take a year to construct, of course sponsored by Crown's money.

1165 AD, Spring

The Spymaster arrives in your stud unannounced one day.

"Greetings, m'liege." He lifts his hat.

"I bring urgent report from my agents in the east. King Shapur of Parsia has lately became progressively sick and infirm. His son and heir, Dashir, is running the place in his stead, keeping people and neighbours content. However, Shapur's courtiers seem to be lending more ear to his second son, Manipur, who is known for his zealous tendencies and persecution of non-Eleven heathens. Given the Parsian's culture knack for assasinations, aggressivenes and succession wars, we might prevent rise of an enemy in the east if we take an action."

A) "Make up some proof that Manipur was going to invade us, so we can pre-empt with an invasion of our own!"
B) "Nah, we wait and see how this situation develops for now."
C) "Indeed. Try to get Dashir assassinated!"
D) "Indeed. Try to get Manipur assassinated!"

7214
Basically, ye.

7215
MILITARY EDICTS:

Matters of military hierarchy, philosophy of war and development of military tech.

-

BUREAUCRATIC EDICTS:

Matters of administration and government.

Issue the Bill of Rights:
A standarized code of basic laws of the common peoples. Even if peasants will have nothing else left, they will always have their basic freedoms, helping ease their minds in times of emergency - and perhaps allow the spirit of liberty and humanism to blossom (for good or worse).

Establish Imperial Trade Commission:
To ensure stricter and better control of trade in the Empire and through its borders, an imperial guild of trade and commerce should be created. Its officials will keep an ever-vigilant eye on market trends, supply and demand, as well as establish and maintain favorable tariffs and taxes on goods, and help our merchants gain upper hand over foreigners. Hopefully, they will avoid price gouging, corruption, favoritism and other nasty things.

CULTURAL EDICTS:

Matters of religion, culture and art.

Establish Calendar of Festivities:
Rather than throw a festival every few years to celebrate a bontiful harvest, let's instead establish a cyclic and stable calendar of state-sponsored festivities for the whole year. This will cause a drain on the Treasury, but hey - people love festivals!

Endorse State Patronage of Arts:
To help develop the nation culturally, set aside certain amount of budget money to sponsor sculptors, poets, musicians and painters. It will be a constant drain on the Treasury, but think of how prestigious your nation will become, what with those masterpieces of art popping left and right!

Establish The Royal House of Learning:
Scholars scribbling down books in secluded libraries and scriptories should be a thing of the past! Let's instead establish a centre of learning, where those of intellect can exchange ideas and educate those willing to learn. It will help the nation develop technologically, although maintenance of this beacon of enlightenment will obviously require yearly costs.

REVOKE EDICT: Revokes a previously implemented edict, either to cut spending, appease some disgruntled subjects, or both. On the other hand, it might tick off some other peoples, potentially causing a deadly cascade of discontent.

Late Spring, 1135 AD: Established the Fireblood Court:
Creation of a specialized military branch devoted purely to development of Fireblood arms to ensure they are aplenty and of best designs around. This will allow to centralize the production, research and budgeting of Fireblood weaponry rather than having some errant alchemists and engineers running around, trying to make things happen.

End of Year 1135 AD: Proclaimed Religious Equality:
Travelers, merchants, immigrants; they all bring new beliefs and philosophies into the country. Rather than fight those foreign influences, it might be best to allow all peoples free worship on equal level no matter the size and beliefs of the congregation, to help all different worshippers achieve a certain degree to harmony and peace.

End of Year 1139 AD: Established Recruitment Offices:
Mandatory training for youths is a good thing, but after bloodier-than-usual wars, there might be shortage of men to replenish the ranks. If we were to expand on the royal bureaucracy to include offices for traveling civilian recruiters and offer citizenship grants for mercenaries and travelers looking for a new home, our Army could refill its ranks much faster.

End of Year 1140 AD: Established The Council of Statesmen:
Creation of a small council of governmental officials who will be tasked with helping the government run smoother alongside traditional advisors, and, of course, the monarch himself. This will help strengthen the Imperial Authority, even in dire times, and help pass edicts quicker, although giving even more political power away from the throne than in the past might become a source of troubles one day.

End of Year 1142 AD: Established Passage Tax:
All those travelers, adventurers, merchants and others are moving through the country for free! Let's establish a tax for those entering and leaving our country - this will earn us nice profits each year, although it might slow down immigration and convince some merchants to seek passage through elsewhere.

End of Year 1146 AD: Established Diplomatic Corps:
Creation of a small but highly professional cabinet of diplomats and ambassadors that would visit neighbouring countries on regular basis to strengthen ties with nearby rulers and their nobles, and maybe even develop favorable treaties with them.

Summer 1152 AD: Issued the Codex of Training Regimen:
A set of efficient (and slightly draconian) requirements and practices of training to ensure that the Army gets only the best recruits of them all. This will make the Army much better in combat, although there might be a problem to fill yearly recruitment quotas sometimes.

End of Year 1153 AD: Established the Shadowranks:
Politics often involve underhanded tactics. A castle full of commoner staff and visiting foreigners just asks for a disaster to occur. Let's have the military form a professional division of most loyal of soldiers, who would protect the Emperor, his family and important state officials, during the day, night, war, peace, revelries of festivals and monotony of daily life.

End of Year 1154 AD: Established Religion Tax:
Various congregations are given away territories and various tax exemptions for those. With erosion of religious influences upon the state, its prime opportunity to dip our hand into prime source of income that is donations and tithes gathered by those numerous cults present in the empire. It will surely not please them, and, by extension, your subjects.

End of Year 1156 AD: Expanded Primogeniture Law:
A string of bad luck can render a monarch without a male heir or cause succession debates. Rather than risk some unpleasant consequences of such a situation, it might be better to allow a skilled female to ascend to the throne, especially if she is as good at matters of the governance as any other ruler.

End of Year 1158 AD: Enacted Settlement Policy:
Guarantee that those willing to settle in previously undeveloped lands or territories yet unclaimed by any nation will be given a certain amount of money to help further their effort. However, this might cause a severe drain on the Treasury, especially during times of sudden, mass migrations to the countryside.

End of Year 1159 AD: Introduced Elective Succession Laws:
Sometimes a firstborn might be below average in terms of his skills to rule the nation, but there might be no other alternatives left, even amongst females. Elective Succession will allow the monarch to select the most skilled to inherit the throne, even a distant (or foreign!) relative of the successor, although this might cause problems with less gifted yet highly ambitious relatives of the next ruler, as well as local nobility.

Late Autumn, 1160 AD: Proclaimed Dissolution of Cloisters:
There are some faiths that are living and dwelling in estates and keeps that once belonged to the Crown, hoarding wealth within! We should force them out, restoring the important buildings to our governance as well as profiting from the stored treasures. Obviously, the worshippers of the faiths in question will be angry about this.
