You send the Army to deal with the bandit problem.

In few weeks, all but the most elusive of bandits are dead.

1150 AD, End of the Year

Why, of all things, it must be snowing so hard these days? The Scepter only quietly hums, the guards say, so this must be just an exceptionally strong blizzard and nothing else. Accursed winter weather!

Fortunately, there will be a pause in the monotony; the Advisor arrives to give you the Scrolls of Kingdom status, as he did in last thirty-something years.

You glare at the colorful numbers up there on the scroll.

"Sire, it seems that our economy isn't as it used to be. While the profits from mines and taxes are quite something, our expenses, both recurrent and spontaneous are siphoning money from the Treasury. And I must remind you that the treaty with Parsia about the gold mines is due to expire in two years; from 1153 onwards, we will no longer receive the part of gold bullion smelted there."

"The recruitment offices allowed our Army to spring up into safe numbers. The Council of Statesmen however was unable to strengthen your autohirty, due to recent trouble with money and happiness of our people. I would advise against issueing an Edict, and I also must ask whether we should raise taxes for next year."

A) "Taxes and edicts, now that is what I like!"
B) "Raise the taxes, but let's pass on edicts this year."
C) "Prepare the parchment, I have some Edict issueing to do!"
D) "Nah, let's not burden the peasants with either."

A delegation of diplomats is sent to Cydwyl Kingdom while Eivan is sent with haste to the coalition forces, to spearhead the negotiations with Agaresians.

1150 AD, Midwinter

The delegation returns from Cydwyl; King Erik proclaimed that the alliance with Methiant shall continue to bring peace and prosperity to both nations.

Few days later, you receive a report from Eivan; he has managed to successfully negotiate with Agaresians; the lizard riders will abandon some lands east of Cydwyl and north of Parsia, and those two countries will move in there; also, all sides are to respect thirty years of peace, or repercussions will be sanctioned.

Unfortunately, it seems that Eivan isn't much of military commander, because Parsians left without further ado the moment negotiations were completed, and little camaderie was between them and your soldiers in closing days.

1150 AD, Late Winter

The remainder of Methiant Army that helped against Agaresians has just returned, with Eivan in lead.

While the weather is mild, the situation in the countryside is not. Bandits are marauding in large groups in the north, mostly in the Donuth region. Governors and noblemen alike are unable to stem the tide of criminals pestering travelers and peasants there. They ask for help.

A) Let's hire some adventurers to eradicate the bandits. Bandit hunting is staple adventuring job, after all.
B) Our Army will go forth and destroy them all!
C) The governors and nobles are simply not trying hard enough.

You banish the woman from your palace. Judging by her glare, she wasn't happy about this.

1150 AD, Winter

Gold, silver and gems pour into the treasury.

But all those dry reports are nothing compared to tragedy that struck your (somewhat distant) family - King Cidric of Cydwyl is dead! He has perished after a bout of fever wrecked his body.

His son Erik, just barely mature enough to hold the throne himself, ascended to leadership of the Kingdom. A report arrives from the allied forces soon afterwards; the Parsians aren't really good at negotiations, nor they are really friendly toward Methiantese at the moment. It seems that the central figure of Cidric was the glue that held the coalition, and its now on verge of breaking apart.

You loiter in your beloved study, wondering why all those things require your attention? You're not going anywhere however, you're sure of that. This room and this desk of yours is where you belong!

As for Cidric's passing...

A) Send a letter of condolences for young King Erik.
B) Send a delegation to King Erik to attend the funeral.
C) Things happen, eh?

As for problems with coalition forces...

A) I'm sure they will work it out by themselves.
B) Houlandin, a warrior-prince, will surely be a good substitute for the martial man that Cidric was.
C) Eivan is wise and learned in customs of other cultures, this might help him solve the alliance's crisis.

You try to interest Lerna in yourself.

She laughs at your attempts, and after several minutes she shakes her head.

"Excuse me, Emperor, but I prefer meat that is fresh and tender, not one that's stringy and wrinkly after sitting on the shelf for too long." How dare she!

A) "Begone from my palace then, harpy!"
B) "You think you can insult the Emperor like this!? Guards!!"

7522

7523
You try to get information from Lerna.

She is quite forthcoming.

"Why, my liege? Is it so strange for a woman to seek companionship of a noble man and bear him a son? Iwald has died, but this pond has plenty of fish left I say."

A) "How about the biggest of them all? *wink wink*"
B) "Fine then, you can marry Saenn if you want."
C) "Don't you talk about my family like its cattle! Begone!"

7524
Hey don't you diss Zeus, I've spent ages on it V:<

You decide to seek information about this.

By next day, the Spymaster meets with you.

"Apparently, Lady Lerna has been trying to court Eivan, too, before he married, and once he did, she set her sights at your youngest son, my liege."

You decide to...

A) Banish the seductress from the court.
B) Talk about this with Lerna.
C) Talk about this with Saenn.
D) Let this thing solve itself.

You try to convince him to relent and marry the Damdamian girl.

Not only you fail to do so, you feel the crushing urge to retreat to your study. There you find peace and comfort, and it's good thing nothing else came up today because you would probably leave the important decisions to your court.

The court, of course, still has to write a letter of rejection to King of Rucus. You sure hope they do good.

1150 AD, Late Autumn

The Parsians has taken control of the alliance forces, because Cidric's health begun to deterioriate and he has been moved back to Cydwyl territories.

Meanwhile, an indecent rumor is coursing about your palace; apparently, some people have spotted Lerna, widow of Iwald, being unusually friendly toward Saenn, your youngest son and her brother-in-law.

A) And what of it? They're family, family gotta talk from time to time.
B) Is that incest? In my palace?? Not on my watch! BEGONE THOT!
C) I need to discreetly get information from or about them.

7527
Wait I fucked up, Eivan is already married to Helliste King's girl 'v.

Uhhhhh. How do I-

Aha!

You decide to accept the deal.

Einvan Saenn throws a fit, however.

"I'm absolutely not marrying some heathen Damdamian, father." He says, furrowing his brows. "I will marry a proper Alldivine girl from Methiant or somewhere!"

A) "Do it for the Empire, son!"
B) "This was a bad idea, it seems."

B) "Fine, Seann will have the honour instead."
C) "This was a bad idea, it seems."

7529
You decide to meet with Mr.Rabaul. A meeting is scheduled for Week 5, if he takes up your invitation of course.

1950, Week 4

One of Alarrosian-operated tankers has struck an underwater rock and is currently sinking. It's crew has been rescued by copter but the oil spill, and thus environmental damage, is sure to be gigantic.

Your ministers are wondering whether the glorious Alarrosian coast guard can clean this up or mayhaps we should seek help elsewhere (Murrikans already offered to send some navy and aquatology vessels to help).

As for Murrikan offer of help...

A) The Great People's Republic of Alarros needs no help from the stinkin' Murrikans!
B) Sure thing, but I'm not paying their people for helping us!

As for seeking help elsewhere...

A) Call up the Allied Nations, asking for help to deal with this disaster.
B) Call up Moskovia for help, even if they have no presence in the region.
C) Nah, the glorious soldiers and workers of Alarros can clean this up by themselves!

7530
You decide to send a proper delegation and proper set of words for Tetan to let him know what you think of his deal breakage.

1150 AD, Mid-Autumn

You receive word from the northeast; apparently, Parsians begun negotiations with Agaresians on behalf of King Cidric, as he has recently fallen ill with a fever.

Meanwhile, your diplomatic council got you a potential tie with Kingdom of Rufus; their king, Audian, is willing to give the hand of his daughter, third in the line to the throne of Rucus, to Eivan, your second-youngest son.

A) Aww yiss, that's my kinda deal!
B) Ehh, pass, Damdamians are only trouble.
