Another charge, another chance for glory!

Quote
7!*

Your charge bumps into the fortified camp of the enemy, but that is not enough to stop you! The camp is overrun and the inferior troops of Euron fall easily before your soldiers. The King himself is not present in the camp.

By the end of the day, your force shrinks to less than three thousand, but no Evalian is left either alive or free. All the information you get from captives is that their force was led by Euron's brother Lesas (your agents find his body a while later), and King of Eval is currently organizing defense of the capital.

A) Truly only a madman would continue to resist our glorious troops. Time to show Euron that we are capable of negotiation and cooperation.
B) A futile attempt, because the end of this insurrection draws near, he just hasn't noticed that. Time to approach the capital and begin its siege.

You order a charge!

Your soldiers ride and strike into the heart of the advancing sea of torches. Either the Evalian troops weren't prepared for this or thought you were still busy with raiders, because the charge is glorious and worthy of a song or two. Your Army divides the advancing rebels into two, and both sides begin to crumble. Many are killed and the attack on the camp is repelled, although the chaos denies your soldiers the immediate ability to pursuit, or even locate, the heart of the rebel forces.

The morning comes, and bodies are counted; there is thousand five hundred of them, a third of them Methiantese. Numerically the attack and the casualties are lesser than the panic of the night would dictate.

Your scouts return; the Evalians are busily regrouping just over the small forest to the southwest. No doubt they will try to either escape or attack you again. It seems that there's no more than three thousand Evalians in the camp, but there's no information on their leaders.

A) We can easily use the time to rest and regroup ourselves.
B) A good opportunity to go and strike them where it hurts!

You order to set up camp for the night.

In the darkest hours of the night, the rattle and horns of alarm wake you up! The battle rages while you hastily put on your pants. What were your sentries and scouts doing if they allowed for this to happen!?

As you leave your tent with your guards and few officers, it obvious that the enemy cavalry ran into the camp during the cover of the night. The fighting is already underway and soon reports come that footsoldiers with torches are making their way toward the camp!

Despite the chaos in your camp, your soldiers repel and kill the mounted attackers, securing the rear and the centre. Troops are amassed against the incoming forces. Fortunately, retreat isn't necessary, but still the tactic should be chosen for the next few minutes!...

A) We charge into them, their torches will be our targets!
B) We prepare defensive formations to repel their attacks!

You decide to stop only when the Evalian usurper is dead.

Three days later, as you march towards teh cpaital, your scouts bring news. Euron has rallied his troops and is marching towards you. He has at least four thousand of footsoldiers, from peasant rabble to skilled mercenaries and soldiers from past wars, as well as about eight hundred cavalry, made up by Evalian nationalists and minor noblemen.

His army is a day away from your current position, but if you both march against each other, the battle could be joined mayhaps even before today's evening.

A) We plop down and let them come, no need to tire ourselves with constant marching.
B) Onwards, the setting sun will provide lovely backdrop for our battle!

You decide to fight against this upstart Euron and to crush his so-called Kingdom once more!

A week later, your forces move into Eval once again. You can give up on releiving the sieges of the keeps in the south, the scouts bring news that no loyalist garrisons remain except those few near the border that were captured by you.

The scouts report that there is no sight of Euron or his troops, despite the fact that you arrived at his doorstep.

A) Then we take it to his living room! Onwards, to the capital!
B) Then we will make a mess of his backyard, I mean, borderlands!

You move onwards to finish the business in Felonsein first.

1149 AD, Late Summer

Few weeks later, the Felonsine part of the campaign has been finished! Cities and garrisons were liberated from Felonsein nationalists with almost no resistance, and the few marauding groups of rebels were either captured or eradicated.

Unfortunately, while control of Felonsein was being regained, the Evalians didn't sleep, and your scouts bring news - Evalians declared independence! They're led by an Evalian noble that was spared by your purge, Euron Talva is his name. Claiming descent from Kings of Lametania themselves, he envisions himself as savior of Eval from cruel, foreign oppressors (we're talking about you, of course), and pledged to lead his supporters to glory and victory.

A) And to their deaths also because I'm gonna show him in a moment what I think of self-proclaimed Kings within my provinces!!
B) Eh, if they really want it, I might just decide to negotiate something with them. If they're nice, of course.
C) Whatever, I'm done with Eval and the Empire will do better without it anyways.

I have several concerns.

Some very serious concerns.

You march your Army against the rebel horde!

Quote
5to6

Your forces join the battle while maintaining the element of surprise. Your forces then announce themselves just as they fall on the rear of the peasant mass!

Quote
7!*

Your forces plow through the peasants and rebel rabble alike, cutting down by hundreds. Casaulties amongst your soldiers are light, when the rebel army is split into two, the center of theirs annihilated. But you and your Army press forth, for the battle is not yet done!

Quote
7!*

The two separated groupings of rebels have no chance. They're steadily being ground into mincemeat and corpses that are strewn across square kilometres of land.

The victory is bloody, complete and happens before dusk.

Finally, the brave soldiers who dared to stop the rebels are met. There's only couple hundred of them left and they prove to be what some of your officers thought; troops recalled from Orcworld. Their dead comrades are buried with honors and the wounded and still standing are personally blessed by you for their valor and dutifulness.

Your forces are currently about four thousand in numbers and it would be foolish to await more. Your officers ask for orders!

A) Let's go to Felonsein, the rebels who stayed there will surely surrender after this crushing defeat!
B) Felonsines are done with, we must return to Eval and lift remaining sieges as soon as possible!

7557
You decide to rush to help those unknown fighters against the rebels!

Once your Army gets there, your scouts easily determine the Methiantese soldiers as those being sent from Orcworld to bolster your numbers! The fighting continues, although the rebel masses are maintaining their numbers and the Orcworld soldiers are being, well, slaughtered.

A) Welp, nothing left to be done here. Let's retreat a bit and rest.
B) Onwards, we will strike their rear and send them into disarray!
C) Time to plop down, fortify ourselves and see if they take a bait.

7558
You order pursuit of the rebel army.

Less than three days your scouts bring news; apparently the rebel army has engaged some forces that were sent to stop their incursion, but the scouts weren't able to identify them.

However, the battle is just few hours away from your current position, if your soldiers rush it.

A) Gotta go fast and catch'em all before our soldiers lose!
B) Steady, we will pick off the remainder after the battle is over!

You march against the Felonsines this time.

Almost a week later, your enter Felonsine territory and your scouts bring news; the rebel army learned of your approach and has decided to change course - it has marched east into Methiant proper!!

A) Sure thing, they won't accomplish anything and in meanwhile we recapture our holdings.
B) After them! Before they raze some settlements or even convince them to rebel too!

>MFW when I don't update SPAMKINGDOM for few days and forget what was the current plot:

You decide to go and pick out rebel sieges one by one.

1149 AD, Midsummer

Four sieges have been lifted around small road garrisons. While of course garrisons gotta garrison, and finally wounded can be deposited safely somewhere, you do get some fresh troops. About two hundred men, plus some horses and supplies.

However and finally, about two thousand fresh troops have marched from Methiant!

You learn however that Felonsines are boldly 'liberating' city after city. Spies report that their forces have grown to almost ten thousand of peasants, centered around two cliques of noblemen with their own paid and armed mercenaries and soldiers, although those are no more than a thousand in numbers.

A) Time to crush their hopes of independence by crushing their so-called Army!
B) We continue with Evalian sieges, a work half-done will only worsen matters.
C) Let's split forces to accomplish both these tasks, hopefully we can do it!
D) We ain't got enough men, simply put. Let's wait for Orcworld troops to join us.
