You decide to ally - and to proclaim that Duchy of Eval commited most heinous crime of attempted assassination and will pay for it with blood!

The Lametanian envoy is quick to chime in.

"My liege, on behalf of my master, may I negotiate for Evalian soil to be returned to its ancestral owners? King Dangarm would heap praise and gifts upon you and your house if the Duchy of Eval would become integral part of Lametania again."

A) "Gifts and praise, sure thing! The Duchy will go into hands of Lametanians when I'm done with it!"
B) "He will only receive the Duchy from my cold, dead hands. That land is mine to take!!"
C) "He can have it if he bends the knee to me first!"
D) "Sure, but only if he fields men and arms to help me take it. I won't be giving hard-won territories to him for free after all!"

7892
How old is he anyways?

Cyl? He was born in 1099, so he is 'barely' 36 at the moment.

You attempt to solve the economical woes of the Kingdom.

The economy of the Kingdom is mostly agricultural - Unicorns are bred and slaughtered for war mounts, exotic pets, meats and horn dust. The land not claimed for Unicorn enclosures is farmlands, mostly growing corn, the staple cereal, if not food crop, of the region. Corn Syrup is also a delicacy, highly sought after outside the borders.

As the Advisor Agropublicus has noted:

50% of farmland dedicated to Unicorn enclosures.
33% of farmland dedicated to Corn growing.
Remaining farmland dedicated to other plants and crops.

You decide to shift some bulk of the farmland to...

A) Unicorns!
B) Corn!
C) Other stuff!

On the expense of...

A) Unicorns!
B) Corn!
C) Other stuff!

You decide to keep the matter a secret for now. After a refreshing goblet of watered down wine, you return to the throne room.

The envoy from Lametania is last to speak to you.

"Greetings, Emperor Cyl! My master, King Dangarm, cannot in his wise mind turn blind eye to both the threat of southerners as well as the continous splendour of Methiant. Therefore, he asks to become allies, so that together the two nations, Methiant and Lametania, can ensure lasting peace in the region. To further cement the alliance, he is offering the hand of his second child and only daughter, Cespina, to whichever of your sons you want."

A) "Wonderful idea, something I was going to offer myself. Consider the deal accepted!"
B) "Allies? Ha! Tell your master this - I shall only welcome him as a vassal, if its protection that he wants!"
C) "Ha! His wish is not my wish. Begone, I have no interest in alliance with Lametania!"

Furthermore, you decide to...

A) Tell the envoy - and the court - that you're soon going to invade Eval due to Targald's treachery. Because you're going to, right?
B) Say nothing of Targald and the terrible fate that befell him.

7895
"I already said no. Begone!"

"But you have to! It's the only way-!" The youth then does the unthinkable - rushes you with his hands and face full of anger!

In the ensuing scuffle, your heart skips a beat when you hear - and feel - that the Duke's son manages to unsheathe Wolf-Fang!

But luckily, the Wolf-Fang's weight is a surprise for the youth. You manage to un-steal the sword and, in self-defense (or mayhaps rush of adrenaline), impale the youth on the enchanted blade. Gurgling like some animal, Targald collapses to the floor in a fetal position and breathes his last as the pool of blood forms underneath him - just in time for the guards to rush in, alarmed by sounds of scuffle.

Soon, the Advisor and few important and most trusted men know what happened. Soon you will have to deal with consequences and mayhaps, dish out some consequences too, in light of this terrible event. But first, you decide to...

A) Keep this in secret from general public, for now, and call in Lametanian envoy.
B) Cut short any audiences because you're going TO WAR!!

Er? Okay, I guess that's what "one point per rank per turn" was supposed to mean? That's super unclear.

Not sure where that 'per Rank' came from, so fixed.

7897
It is, in Supply Point part, but I guess it needs extra mention in Research spoiler too v;

Ah yes, you're Princess Lovecraft, your weapon of choice is a sword and you're skilled in all things arcane.

Week 1, Year 596

"Princess Lovecraft! Save our Kingdom!" The pudgy, bald advisors bring you the Ledger of Royal Problems. Inside, the list is as follows:

1: Zyrtec the Allmighty will be resurrected on Week 1 of Year 600.
2: People are unhappy with monarchy's governance due to bad corn harvest last year.
3: Duke Bastardic is rebelling against Unicornia in the southeast.
4&5&6: Eagleland Republic, Equileian Orthodox Church and Manatolian Magocracy are always trouble at the border.

Per the traditional laws of the Kingdom of Unicornia, the ruling King (or Queen, or their heir apparent, in this case, you) have to personally solve the problems with enough Heart and enough Power.

Lovecraft's Heart: 5/20
Lovecraft's Power: 5/20

What is your agenda for this (or incoming few) week(s), Princess?

A) Travel the countryside in search for clues how to prevent or defeat Zyrtec the Allmighty
B) Begin diplomatic talks with the three neighbouring superpowers.
C) Tour the Kingdom and raise the spirits of your hungry peoples.
D) Secure economical prosperity and increase agricultural output of the Kingdom somehow.
E) Rally your loyal soldiers against the vile usurper and your uncle, Duke Bastardic.
F) Take lessons on Heart, so you can try to become a master politician and champion of the Light.
G) Take lessons on Power, so you can try to become a powerful warlord and master of weapons and magics.

Forum Games and Roleplaying / PRETTY MAGICAL UNICORN PRINCESS ADVENTURE!
« on: January 07, 2018, 04:57:51 pm »
"Princess! Princess! Wake upppp! I have some unfortunate news for you!!"

Oh boy, the little Navibulb really must learn what an understatement means!

Your father, King Justus V, has died mysteriously overnight. The prophesized coming of Evil Warlock, Zyrtec the Allmighty, has been rescheduled and will occur 4 years from now instead of 400. Your uncle Bastardic has shown his true colors and has rebelled against the fair regency council of Unicornia. The Eagleland Republic, Equineian Orthodox Church and Manatolian Magocracy cannot be trusted to keep their hands off the Unicornian borders. And to top all this, the last year's corn harvest was terrible and people are complaining.

But first of all, formalities!

Name: proper name for proper magical princess!
Weapon: Sword, Wand, Bow
Trait: Martial, Charismatic, Arcane

After you fill up those lovelies, we will get back to the haphazard plot! Hurry! The fate of Unicornia, nay, the whole world, depends on you!!

7904
You reject the youth's offer.

"What if we offer you tribute for five years?" The kid doesn't relent yet!

A) "I already said no."
B) "Make it ten years!"
C) "Fine, then."

7905
After he is given A-OK by your guards, you retreat with the youth to a side chamber.

"Emperor Cyl, it is great to meet you in person." The hooded youth says before taking off his hood. "I am Targald, son of Duke of Eval, Caun." You look at the youth with a degree of surprise.

"I have asked you to come and talk privately, because my father has some grand plans that possibly couldn't succeed without help of a man like you."

"What are those plans"?

"My father eyes jealously the throne of Lametania, and has a rightfu claim for it. But he lacks arms and men to conquer our ancestral home, in fear that the Dukes under yoke of Damdamians would try to swoop in and seize power in both of our lands, and obviously we're unwilling to try and attack these two first, lest the Damdamians turn their eyes towards us. And so the impasse has lasted for many years, before my father decided to instead look northwards for support."

"He wants us to help him recover Lametanian throne, then."

"If you're willing to help him reunite two parts of Lametania under his rule, he would be your most loyal ally, and so I will, when the throne passes to me."

You decide to...

A) Agree to a joint invasion of Lametania.
B) Counteroffer with supplies and Thundercats on lease.
C) Reject the silly offer.
D) Call the guards and capture heir of Eval for a ransom!
