The Eldrican diplomat is let in first.

"Greetings, King Cyl! My master, King Daric III, wishes to obtain your agreement to letting his caravans pass through Methiant. King Shapur of the Kashites has been very eager to get his hands on ketton cloth!" Your courtiers murmur and some glare at the envoy.

A) How dare he! Conducting favorable treaties behind my back?! Get lost, you dog, and warn King Daric that all caravans will be seized for this sleight upon collective honor of Methiant!
B) That is mightily fine for us, and we wish Eldrican traders favorable outcome of their dealings with the distant Kashites.
C) He will have our grant of passage but we would like to have some Eldrican money in return, thank you muchly.

You decide to lower taxes below average, and spend some money on festivities.

1131 AD, Spring

There are two delegates wishing for an audience! One is from Eldrican - the other from Lametania. You decide to meet with...

A) Eldrican diplomat.
B) Lametanian envoy.

You order the Army to go and free Methiant of criminal scum.

Quote

Two weeks pass and Methiant is indeed free of criminal scum. Glory to the Army!

1130 AD, End of the Year

It is that time of the year, when the Advisor comes and the Scrolls of Kingdom Status are laid down upon your table...

And have to brave the numbers.

Happiness: 2
Population: 8
Economy: 5
Army: 6

The Advisor coughs.

"My liege, the people's mood this year has been in awful state. Riots and revolts will only continue if we do not do anything. Some drastic measures might need to be taken."

A) Let's sponsor festivals for the angry little peoples.
B) They shall have nothing!!
C) Lower taxes, higher amount of festivals should do it.
D) Let's lower the taxes below usual for next year.

You decide to give extra money to Army families, and not to sponsor any purges in the Army.

1130 AD, Winter

Gold, silver, gemstones arrive in your Treasury, filling its coffers quite a lot.

Quote
2to5

Metals from eastern mines also provide certain amount of money!

1130 AD, Midwinter

The winter is harsh, but not harsh enough to cause starvation. Nevertheless, as teh Advisor says, many a peasant has took it upon life of a bandit, harassing travelers, merchants and tax collectors to take their valuables, lives, or, most often, both at once. Wandering groups of criminals popped up across most of Methiant since beginning of the winter, and various governors ask the Crown to provide help.

A) The Army will go and cleanse Methiant from criminal scum!
B) Let's pay some adventurer groups to hunt down some bandits.
C) It can't be that bad. I'm sure it will get better once the snow melts.

You unsheathe your sword, hop on your horse and CHAAAARRRRGGEE!!

Quote
6

Either due to your reputation, the 'purge' a while ago or mayhaps inner courage of your men, your soldiers run after you and rush the enemies, smashing their battle lines! Mercenaries and peasants soon flee on en masse, abandoning their equipments and their masters to preserve their lives instead. Enemy numbers thin considerably!

Quote
8!*

The battle then descends into a slaughter of the rebel officers, noble sons and their lackeys who too late notice they've picked wrong side of the conflict.

As the moon peeks over the horizon, one of soldiers with haste presents you a gruesome trophy; the bloodied and severed head of Daeh Cuthwynn, its identity confirmed by the few captives that survived the battle. The deed of the soldier youth is attested by comrades from his unit and therefore you bestow him a knightly rank. He kisses your royal signet in gratitude.

Next morning, as dead are buried and wounded carried away, your Army returns home as scouts report no one else is nearby to rise against you.

Few days later you return to the palace. The Marshal and the Spymaster begin investigation into sudden riot in the Army.

1130 AD, Mid-Autumn

You set the goblet down and nod at the Spymaster, who opens up his scroll.

"Your Majesty, the riot has been sparked by one of well-liked junior officers. A recent Enyntheist convertee and believer in superiority of the Army, he took your order of withdrawal as a sign of cowardice, apprently well-suited a scandalous King like you."

"Scandalous?"

"Sire, you married the heir to the throne of Methiant to a commoner. You allowed his twin brother to die and did nothing to avenge him. And then there's recent religious upheaveal in the country. It's impossible to not have some younger soldiers influenced by all this." Maybe indeed it is time to loosen up on your peoples? Or is it time for purges in the Army?

As for the people's mood...

A) Give extra pay to all soldiers' and officers' families.
B) We can deal with happiness of my people later.

As for the Army purges...

A) We don't need any.
B) Purge religious zealots from my Army!
C) Shake the top levels of hierarchy a bit!

You attempt to form the Army into defensive formation.

Quote
1

Unfortunately, you don't even get anywhere close to finishing when with loud war cries, the enemy descends upon your positions!

Quote
3*

The initial combat goes as you could suspect it would go in this situation. But your men are better trained and have more staying power than mercenaries and peasants of the rebels. As the battle progresses toe-to-toe and lines form, your men recover from the initial chaos and upreparedness.

Quote
3*

Still, your men are beginning to lose some ground!

A) Retreeeeeeat!!
B) Fight, fight my brave men!!
C) CHAAAAARRRGGEEEE!!!

You leave the tent and lead your guards into the rioting masses, calling loyalists and denouncing the rioters, fighting them as they show up.

Quote
5*

Very quickly you gather dozens of supporters, and a bloody swath is cut through those who do not run or do not bend their knee at your approach.

The riot is down within an hour, and some officers estimate that about two hundred youths and few influential officers died.

Then the scouts arrive, looking aghast at the situation for a while, before approaching you.

"Sire! The rebels are just behind this hill!" You decide to...

A) Quickly form a defensive formation.
B) Rush the enemy before it arrives at the camp site.
C) Go on with withdrawal anyways.

You take the Army back a little bit.

Quote
2

Either there is enemy spies or rebels inside your ranks, because there's an Army riot shortly after you announce your decision for tactical withdrawal!

Hundreds of young officers are fighting old dogs loyal to you, with a mix of words like 'cowardice!' 'treason!' 'dishonor!' 'tyrant!' 'bastards!' 'lapdogs!' being exchanged in this chaos.

The fighting is near your tent too!

A) Send the guards out to the fight.
B) Come out and find a safer place.
C) Come out and lead your guard to victory!!

K then, Militaristic is now +2 to rolls rather than extra combat dice. Feel free to choose your Trait if you wish :3
