You decide to learn how this all happened.

Ysa retells the tale much like Leath; she bumped at him in the temple area and, seeing in him someone wealthy, she robbed him of his coinpurse. But she underestimated him and after a long run through the alleys, Leath caught her and demanded the return of his money. Apparently out of his good heart, he decided to at least buy her a meal, and then Ysa fell for the prince's charm-

"You fell for him? Leath told me you stole his heart." The girl hmphs.

"I dunno, but did you hear him play th' lute? He be a divine musician, my liege. Is worth fallin' for!"

You then move on to the important part - did the two have sex or not? Ysa's face burns vividly just as Leath but she is much more cooperative in this matter.

"He insisted to buy me a night's stay at an inn, and uhhh, I felt... indebted." The guards snicker and your wife, who arrived few moments prior to hear most of Ysa's confession, rubs her forehead in consternation.

A) "Not only a commoner but also a whore! You shall not marry my son! Guards, to dungeon with her!"
B) "You two are worth of each other. You will become his wife."
C) "How much money would it take for you to leave Methiant indefinitely?"

You decide to let him do as he wishes.

Few hours later, while Leath is all happy in his chambers, Ysa is brought to you in shackles. The Spymaster's agents had no trouble ambushing her while she was sneaking about the city gates, perhaps to escape (she didn't tell). From her looks, she is merely above average, so mayhaps it's her charm that Leath fell for, or maybe it was this fabled 'love on first sight'.

You decide to...

A) Inform Ysa that she will be Leath's wife.
B) Demand some answers from the girl.
C) -

You ask him what he is planning to do with Ysa.

"I will marry her, be the father of her children, and help her live a life she never had before!"

A) "Insolent brat, you do want to bring ruin to our family! To the dungeon with you!!"
B) "Fine, but you will do that as a commoner yourself and outside the palace!"
C) "No no and no! You will marry a noblewoman for benefit of our family and Kingdom!"
D) "Fine, but I'm going to replace you as a heir with Ustwelf!"
E) "Do that if you want, even if I really can't endorse this union!"

You decide to have Leath released while the guards and agents are sent to the capital city to find and capture Ysa the thief.

Even before your son arrives in your chambers, you know it will be a hard conversation.

You can't get to an agreement. Leath in fact claims to have seduces Ysa with the help of his lute, and she is innocent of all but stealing few of his ducats (which he persuaded to have her give them back). He refuses to collaborate on 'having virginity stolen' although that vivid blush on his face might give a clue or two.

You decide to...

A) Threaten to disown him if he ever again goes this close to damaging the reputation of the family and the kingdom.
B) Attempt to persuade him to marry some noblewoman of minor standing.
C) Ask him what is he going to do with Ysa and this whole situation next.

You decide that vineyards could be good, bu they have to find a better way of doing it before you consent to anything.

1129 AD, End of the Year

That time of the year again.

Happiness: 5
Population: 8
Economy: 4
Army: 6

You rub your noble chin. Not much to work here with.

1130 AD, Spring

While you're reading the daily herald's scroll about happenings in capital and nearby, one of your courtiers, a known diplomat, arrives in your chambers.

"Sire, do you have a moment?"

"Mm."

"It's about Leath."

"Mm?"

"He wants to marry a commoner."

You slowly put down the scroll and look at the diplomat.

He explains that, few days ago, Leath apparently met this Ysa, and she's is a pickpocket.

If Leath's story is to be believed, he was walking through the temple area, and then Ysa stole his coinpurse (literally), and after he caught her, she stole his heart (metaphorically), and at an inn during the night, she stole his virginity (Leath didn't want to cough up details here, so your courtier is skeptical about this one) as well. And because Leath might've read too many fantasy books, he believes he is obliged to marry Ysa and become father of her kids.

"Where is Leath and this Ysa girl"?

"Leath is in his chambers, under guard that Advisor placed there on my recommendation. We haven't found the girl yet." This is a potential disaster to your prestige and dynasty!

In regards to Leath...

A) Release him from his chambers as you have to talk with him.
B) Keep him under guard and lock for now.

In regards of the heart-stealing Ysa the Thief.

A) Have the guards find her.
B) Ignore her for now.

//Remember, no split votes.

You decide to sponsor renovation of non-Enyntheist shrines from royal pockets.

That helps a bit, and the situation quiets down for now.

1128 AD, Winter

Silver and gemstones arrive in the Treasury, and so does the gold.

Quote

Even the various metals mined in the east bring profits.

1128 AD, Midwinter

An envoy arrives from the magistrates currently 'civilizing' Tiftit Hurthlings.

"Greetings, King Cyl! I've come under orders of the magistrates to tell you of the fertile slopes of the Hurthling valley. Our farmers have found out that grapes could be grown there at a large scale, but Hurthling farming system of mixed crops and farmlands is simply incompatible with what your magistrates dream of."

"Therefore, the magistrates ask if, for the good of Methiant - and its coffers - they could be allowed to seize farmlands of smaller families and organize the larger ones so that our viticulturists could begin production of what they already branded as 'Tiftit Grape'."

A) "They're there to civilize the Hurthlings and help them assimilate into Methiant, not to anger them with land grabs!"
B) "That is a good idea, but I need them to find a better solution than to anger Hurthlings."
C) "Splendid idea, and they have my consent and my blessing. The wine must flow!"

You decide to sponsor all the other important faiths. But how?

A) Donate to renovate their temples and sponsor new shrines.
B) Write royal letters to their temples, and thus, their faithful.

You are determined to defend your viewpoint and write a letter of reply to the Arch-Patriach, hoping to convince him to not bring disaster upon your dynasty's legitimacy.

1128 AD, Mid-Autumn

The reply arrives, and you feel nervous while breaking the seal and opening the letter.

Fortunately, the Arch-Patriarch decided not to excommunicate you. Howerver, he warns you that he cannot stand aside and watch the wildfire of Enyntheism devour Methiant. If you do not take any measures, he - and Alldivine Cloisters themselves - will.

You feel you cannot simply try to avoid the issues or adopt a neutral stance here.

A) I ought to help promote other faiths as well.
B) I ought to curb Enyntheism's influences in the Kingdom.
C) Maybe if I 'donate' on the altars of Alldivines, all will be well?

You decide to write the letter in form of a suggestion.

Quote

Later on you learn that your suggestion has been 'thought over' and he will consider shifting some expenses for renovations, but promises nothing.

1128 AD, Autumn

You receive a letter from the Arch-Patriarch of Alldivine Cloisters.

In the lengthy letter, he first attempts to mellow your incoming wrath with praises of your wise leadership and magnaminous conquests.

Then he quickly descends into your latest inability to deal with the rising new threat to the harmony of Methiant, the threat being of course Enyntheism. While he understands your need to pursue the ancient and sacred policies of tolerance that always been prominent in the region, he feels that you are simply blind to the potential danger of this new cult that equally stirs all three major faiths of Methiant.

Therefore, he demands that you, the King of Methiant, take the steps to preserve the Kingdom, or otherwise he will have no other option but no longer consider your family worthy of Alldivine attention - in other words, he will excommunicate you!

This will not only annul your marriage with Esta, but also stir up both fellow adherents into action as well as give opportunities to those who would profit from your misfortune.

A) Well, I always wanted to become...
AA) an Enyntheist.
AB) a Singularist.
AC) a Pantheonist.
B) This is terrible, but I cannot simply change the course of the river of fate! Clearly I have to convince the Patriarch.
C) Maybe I should seize up some Enyntheist troublemakers to soothe the Patriarch's mind?
D) So be it - it's time to forcefully stop Enyntheist influence and growth!

//If you want to have Cyl (and his immediate royal family) switch religions, please type AA, AB or AC instead of just A.

You decide to send a letter to the governor, asking him to, well...

You gnaw on the quill because you're conflicted - you meddled in religious matters with the COuncil yet wish to maintain neutrality! How you should compose the letter, because you feel either way something might go wrong. And possibly will.

A) It will be a polite suggestion not to stir zealotry of opposite faith with that temple project.
B) It will be a request to not sponsor the grand temple of such young cult in such important city as Luathbas.
C) It will be an order to cease construction of the temple to help maintain peace and harmony within the Kingdom.

You decide to let Undar go. After he finishes up seventeen other more or less experienced warriors, he decrees the kingdom 'not worthy' and leaves for some other place to bother.

Your wife slams the door in front of your face when you come to share the bed with her, and, after unsuccessfully arguing that it is your bed, you decide to sleep on the royal couch tonight.

1128 AD, Midsummer

Enyntheism grows stronger day by day. Just now, the adherents of the young cult has gained a prominent ally in the person of governor of Luathbas himself, who decreed that he will sponsor construction of grand new Temple, upsetting other religious leaders who had the town's budget allocated to renovation of their shrines.

Do you avoid it this time? Of course not! The upset high clerics of Singularism, Pantheonism and Alldivinism has come in person to you, demanding you curb this violent and subvertive new faith.

A) I won't, and neither will you!
B) I can try something? A letter maybe?
C) Stop bothering me and do it yourselves!

You decide to let Tywynn challenge the traveling barbarian, despite the pleas of his mother and your wife, Esta. You order some courtiers and guards to go and watch Tywynn's performance.

Quote

The worst (and obvious) happens rather quick; Tywynn lasts several seconds before Undar's claymore cleaves him from top of his head to the ribcage.

Your courtiers believe this should not stand! This is a regicide of a sheeple, something that shouldn't be allowed to go unpunished. Undar should be brought into dungeon for his crime!

A) Obviously! To the dungeon with the savage barbarian and murderer of my son!
B) Tis was a fair duel to death that both accepted, and therefore, its laws are above us!
