I think the incorrect assumption here is that Ceodwell runs on the same military system Methiant does v;

You decide to leave the forts besieged with light forces and move forward, to the capital of Ceodwell.

1126 AD, Winter

It takes a week of marching before your scouts inform you about a worrying development; a grand fortress, manned by at least three thousand men, is standing at the crossroads just a week march away from Ceodwell's capital.

Your officers convene in a hurry - this one wasn't here last time! Calahan III must've built this castle after the previous war, and considering the size of the keep, the project must've had a big budget.

Ultimately, you decide to...

A) Besiege this grand fortress.
B) Launch an assault against the castle.
C) Bounce southwards and simply evade the fort.

You order your troops to form defensive formations and take a well-guarded position. Unfortunately besides a small glade to the side there's not much in terms of defensive terrain nearby, but it will have to do. Your troops deply in triple line with cavalry guarding Fireblood machines on the flanks, which will deliver annihilating first volley, before the infantry smashes against the enemy.

At least that's the plan but how it will go will show up in a moment!

Although the enemy numbers are higher than yours, the numbers alone cannot match your carefully-planned tactics! The enemy infantry marches right into volley of stone rain. As the Ceodwell soldiers and mercenaries attempt to form al ine, your infantry rushes in with battle cries and plows deep into half-formed battle lines of the enemy. There's no need for real tactic, as your men have and keep the upper hand from the first seconds of the melee.

Three hours later, the battle ends as the remnants of Ceodwell forces flee for their lives, more than two-thirds of enemy Army now being corpses upon the grassy dirt. Your own forces suffered only about six hundred casualties.

After a short celebration and some rest, your officers convene with to gain insights into your strategy.

A) We resume besieging the forts with full force.
B) We leave the forts behind and go right for Ceodwell capital.
C) We leave the forts behind do some loitering around the countryside.

You leave some skeletal siege crews around the forts, which amount of more than eight hundred men. The rest moves to meet the incoming army.

By the next morning, your scouts inform you that the Ceodwell forces are just an hour away! You convene with your officers and decide to...

A) Get into a defensive position.
B) Form standard battle lines.
C) Move and find favorable terrain first.

At least the retreat is orderly. The troops besieging the forts, seeing the main of their army leave, hastily flee their posts too, furthering boosting the amount of soldiers at your side to almost 5000.

Okay so lets say you guys have 4k if ya need more definite number. Yeah, imma stick with this ;v

You decide to resume the siege of the three forts.

Week passes without incident but neither of the forts surrenders. On the evening, your scouts arrive from southeast; another large Ceodwell army is moving from that direction. It is mixed cavalry and footsoldiers army, and they saw numerous foreign banners amongst them.

"What kind of banners?" The scout salutes the Marshal.

"At least 1 Damdamian banner, two Kashite banners, and some banners of mercenary guilds of this region. At least a third of banners weren't Ceodwellian." Your officers didn't count on Ansbach being able to host so much mercenary force, but apparently yearly profits of Ceodwell are just that good. You decide to...

A) Continue the siege with minimal forces while the rest meets the advancing army in open field.
B) Prepare defenses of all three groups besieging the forts.
C) Retreat few days away from the forts and see what the reinforcements will do.

What if someone mixed arms race with Fire Emblem? Like improving weapons... Would that work?

You tell me. You barely suggested the crossover and already have a question v;

You decide to form the lines.

When the enemy cavalry arrives to rush your men, they are ready - Fireblood machines and archers begin their counter-assault!

This time the battle is yours; the cavalry charge weakens from the bombardment and then your men have relatively easy time beating the cavalry away. Many hundreds of horses and Ceodwell soldiers die on this field.

Later in the evening, your scouts report the cavalry troop retreated far behind the forts. During the battle the three forts exchanged supplies and some men though.

A) And what do we care? Bombard all three into dust.
B) Then it's time for us to resume the sieges.
C) Let's just capture one of them and move on.

You call for a retreat!

Once again your Army is together, but that's not much of a good thing because the Ceodwells have ran after you much earlier than expected! Near two thousand horsemen, backed by few hundred foot, have been spotted an hour away to the south.

A) Plenty of time to dig in.
B) Gotta form the lines.
C) Retreaaaat!

You attempt to stir the souls of your men with a speech! You're not a good speech-maker but maybe, just maybe, you will do good?

Nope.

Some soldiers stopped to listen, but soon they also joined the numerous other that were 'withdrawing tactically' from the melee in large numbers. In fact, you think that you speech moved even more of them to abandon their lines!

A) Retreat! Retreat!
B) CHAAARRRRGGEEE!!!

You decide to quickly shift whole numbers of soldiers there to help against the charge.

Quote

They arrive just in time as the cavalry rides forward toward the positions of your troops! Your sodliers now have advantege of numbers.

You bark orders from afar and soldiers rally against the foe!

The initial charge of enemy cavalry slams through your battlelines! Many a Methiant soldier perishes under the hooves of the Ceodwell horsemen! The battle lines quickly become a swamp of melee, too close and too densely packed for your Fireblood engines to strike without decimating your soldiers also.

Why is this happening!? Your soldiers, instead of pushing back the foe, flee away from the eastern cavalry! This is the worst offense to the honor of the kingdom! The numerical advantage your troops had melts down very fast, and the frontline is on verge of collapse!

A) Retreat! Retreat!
B) Time for some morale boosting battle cry!
C) CHAAARRRRGGEEE!!!
