You decide to split yo forces in three parts, one for each fort, so they cannot help each other.

A week later, you learn that a large cavalry troop - almost three thousand - is charging toward the southernmost of forts from the direction of Ceodwellian heartlands, endangering the Methiantese soldiers besieging it!

A) Time to toss our cavalry against the incoming horsemen!
B) Oh I'm sure they can weather the storm easily.
C) We gotta pull most of our soldiers there!

You decide to lead the Army yourself!

Congratulations! Cyl I embarks on another military campaign!

As your Army enters Ceodwell, three border forts stand before you, spread within half a day distance from each other. You quickly convene with your offices and three options become available, and you decide to...

A) Spread your forces equally between these three to conquer them.
B) Smash one of the forts open with all our might, and that will be our entry point.
C) Besiege all three with minimal amount of soldiers while the rest continues forward.

You declare a campaign against the Ceodwell anyways, to pay for their, what was it again? Ah yes, their treacherous and contemptous dealings against your noble nation.

Your officers were against it initially, but some discussion and support of the Marshal against the old clique that forced you to sign the treaty has eroded any resistance against this incursion.

The Marshal salutes and you know very well what question is being asked of you!

A) Let's ride the front into glory and victory!
B) I think I will stay at the capital this time.

You adopt the tile of 'Conqueror'!

Few days later you learn that Ansbach was successful, kind-of. After defeating Calahan in battle near the gold mines, the old Ceodwellian monarch has disappeared, with numerous rumors circulating that he was wounded, fled or outright killed. One of his trusted officers has taken over the diminishing loyalist forces and is fighting at the border, while Ansbach decided that it is a good moment to declare the fall of the tyrant, and crowned himself King Ansbach I of Ceodwell.

Having some scholars dig up his ancestry got him connected to Ceodwell's dynasty somewher 6 or 7 steps up the family tree, legitimizing his rule. That what matters for the noblemen; the common folk praise him as 'liberator' and 'protector' against increasing Gubta influences on the country in the past years.

A) Now is the time to strike! Onwards, against Ansbach and Kingdom of Ceodwell!
B) Maybe this one won't be a dick. Let's send him a congratulatory letter.

You demand that they become your vassals and kiss your royal signet!

They do so so eagerly you're not sure they understand, but some few hundred soldiers and few dozens officials are left with teh Hurthlings to overse their integration into civilized world (and Methiant).

Your campaign was a success! You decide to conclude it.

Congratulations! Cyl I successfully completed a military campaign!

1126 AD, Late Autumn

People hail you as a 'Conqueror', but the various negotiations you did back and now also make some scholars believe your should be titled 'Negotiator'! Rarely such a debacle occurs, and you prefer to be known for your skills in...

A) Besting hostile forces and conquering foreign lands!
B) Negotiation and diplomacy with others!

You lead your men northwards, to the forested areas of Tiftit!

Five days later, as your Army is marching through a forest tall and dark, suddenly Hurthlings attack from both sides! Your Army's formation and the thickness of the forest forbid any useful deployment and use of Fireblood machines, not that your engineers have the time! And the Hurthlings picked best moment for ambush, too - what are your scouts doing??

Quote

Your Army fights back chaotically as the forest clearly gives the Hurthlings a home field advantage, their javelineers and bowmen popping up from behind or on the top of the trees. Your Army is still numerous, so by numbers alone they have time to regroup and counterattack.

Quote

And that some time to regroup is all that your Army needs; the soldiers run into the thicket en masse, pursuing and cutting down any and every armed Hurthling they find. The battle is won, but this time some three hundred Methiantese soldiers won't be coming home. Bodies of Hurthlings are twice that in numbers.

Fortunately, after a week of trek total, your Army emerges into highly populated farmlands area. Some initial resistance is squashed but before your soldiers can 'teach' the little peoples a lesson, a group of Hurthlings clad in chainmail and pink cloaks hurries toward your position, wearing the white scarves of truce.

They kneel in front of you and smooch the dirt, crying aloud.

"Oh grate Hooman King, spare our lives, we will be nice agiin! We swear to never hurt a big man again, and we will be nice, but pliis stop with the killings!!" You decide to...

A) Satisfy yourself with this promise and return home.
B) Add their bodies to the pile, as the final day of Hurthling race is at hand!!
C) Demand they return the stolen supplies and money.
D) Demand they kiss your royal signet and begin their lives anew as your vassals!

You decide to turn south.

Few days later, your Army is attacked by the Hurthlings between two large hills! How did they manage to approach you unnoticed and with numbers reaching more than thousand, you do not know.

Quote

But even this surprise attack didn't help, as the poor-as-dirt Hurthlings were no match against your steel-armed, drilled troops.

For the coming week, your troops are busy manhandling the Hurthling populace.

1126 AD, Mid-Autumn

While your magistrates, heavily guarded by soldiers of course, teach the Hurthlings how to organize their settlements better, the resistance of Hurthlings has diminished. Still, many officers believe its time to move majority of the army to more forested areas where apparently the Hurthling's High Chieftain and his Chiefs currently reside within splendorous dwellings of Hundred Doors.

A) Onwards, to battle!
B) Time to parley methinks!

You decide to lead your men on a military campaign against the Hurthlings!

Congratulations! Cyl I embarks on a military campaign! During his absence, Queen Esta and the royal Council will take care of political matters.

It's been a week since your Army deployed and so far, it has been an easy conquest. Few times did the Hurthlings present any resistance, and none of these times they inflicted more than few casualties while their slingers, javelineers and archers were mowed down by your cavalry or brutally melee'd by your well-armed and trained soldiers (the fact that Hurthlings doesn't seem to work with any sturdier metal than copper probably helps a lot). Their settlements and homesteads, dug into hills or into the ground are easy pickings for your torch-bearers or Fireblood machines.

Forests now separate the settlements further north, and there are some hillside villages to the south which would probably require pacifying. Some of your officers ponder if maybe the Hurthlings should be offered a parley.

A) Let's continue conquering in northernly direction.
B) Let's mop up work in the south.
C) Send an offer of negotiation to the Hurthlings.

You order the Army to bring order and civility to the savage Hurthlings, who once were known to be much more amicable neighbours to Humans.

The Marshal adjusts his helmet and salutes to you.

"My liege! Will you lead us to glory and victory in this campaign?"

A) "Nah."
B) "Aye!"

You decide to send some money and supplies to the Hurthlings, hoping they will appreciate the gesture.

The report makes your court furious. Either by Hurthling violent nature or mayhaps a wrong gesture on the behalf of the caravan, your men has been attacked, their supplies seized and taken deep into the lands of Hurthlings. Few of the fifty men sent to escort the food and cloth in the wagons returned to tell the tale of this brutal attack!

You decide to...

A) Send the Army to bring order to the lawless swamp that is Tiftit Kingdom.
B) Send some diplomats to demand return of the stolen goods and money.
C) Let this incident pass without consequences.

You decide to send a delegation to the Hurthlings, to determine why they're being so annoying again.

Few days later, the ketton cloth arrives.

Quote

Enthusiasm - and the prices - for the cloth have diminished. At least the Treasury profited enough to pay for the cost of the cloth.

The delegation returns having successfully interviewed the Hurthlings. Apparently, their lands suffers famine again and they're in dire need of grain, but their leaders are too wary (or too proud) to ask the 'big ones' for help.

Your courtiers wonder if maybe Methiant should show their good will toward the little peoples. As your country has had a bad summer weather itself, the only option is to send them money so they can procure food from traveling merchants.

A) Sure, we will send help.
B) Nah, they're not worth it.
