You decide to give Enyn some time.

1122 AD, Mid-Spring

Two people want to audience you; the first is a messenger from King Elran III of Eldrican with a trade proposal, and the other is Enyn the Heretic, escorted by four 'trusted colleagues' as he described them to your guards.

A) Let's talk with the elusive heretic first.
B) Let's talk with the envoy of our neighbour first.

You decide to sponsor a year of activities.

1123 AD, Spring

"Hard to find?" The Spymaster nods.

"Indeed. After you've sent the invitation after Alldivines declared him a heretic, Enyn and his closest followers have gone into hiding. My agents have been able to track them down to the small city at border with Lametania, however."

A) "Splendid, bring him up in shackles, nobody denies my invitation!"
B) "Allrighty, maybe he's just afraid. Let's give him some time."

You send an invitation to this Enyn person.

In span of next few days, gemstones and the silver arrives at the capital.

1122 AD, Midwinter

Spymaster reports that the clique of the nobles planning the coup fell apart after death of your brother Aethled; the implosion of the group escalated especially after two of its most vocal members killed each other in a duel over some petty differences.

1122 AD, End of the Year

How did it go this year? Is everything doing fine, or is there still lots of work to do?

Happiness: 3
Population: 8
Economy: 3
Army: 4

Finally, a four!

"King Cyl," begins the Advisor, "our Army is replenishing and so is our Treasury, but peoples are still a bit bitter. Shall we sponsor a year of festivities to lighten their mood?"

A) "Thin years are over, let's party!"
B) "Let's not overspend just yet."

You crumple the letter and have a talk with the Spymaster the same evening.

1122 AD, Late Summer

A tragedy struck your family! Your brother Aethled has fell down the stairs during a dark and stormy night. Most unfortunate event of them all.

1122 AD, Winter

There's discontent in your kingdom once again, but this time its a bit different.

Enter Enyntheism, a new cult, or rather, a heresy of Alldivines.

Or Singularism. Or maybe both - its hard to define.

Enyn was a young officer in your Army that was captured during the war with Ceodwells and Gubta, and spent three years in the Gubta borderlands. There he met his wife, taught self a bit of Gubtan language and had some talks with traveling sudi, philosopher-preachers that roam Gubta countryside.

After returning to Methiant last year, he has began rather vigorously preaching a new concept of Singularism; not a physical deity that exists, but a 'concept' of all-encompassing thought, an entity that is here and everywhere. Devotion to the concept allows for higher spiritual fullfilment and understanding of all of existence.

Surprisingly (or perhaps not so much), he has gathered much support from Singularist youths that were unsatisfied with Damed-like monotheism of the their faith, and even some Alldivine acolytes who felt that the purely philosophical approach to spirituality isn't fulfilling enough.

This has stirred up both religious communities and in fact the Alldiviners, of all the peoples, has declared 'Enyntheism' a heresy that much be oppressed and dealt with. Considering the current sour mood that persists amongst populace, its only matter of time for the clash of theologies to go very bad.

A) Lets publicly oppose Enyntheism to show that heretics that destabilize our country have no place in Methiant.
B) Send letter to the leaders of Singularists and Alldiviners, asking them to talk with Enyntheists and find a peaceful solution.
C) Invite this 'Enyn' to the capital, so you can personally see if he is a wise philosopher or maybe a thorn in the side of the Kingdom.

You send a letter to your brother who currently lives in Luathbas.

The reply comes half a month later; in the letter, your brother speaks of no ill will toward the dynasty and that he would never destabilize the country, but would and will strive to make Methiant the most powerful and stable of countries, with the best of kings on their throne and happiest subjects of them living on the fertile and well-protected lands.

Nowhere in the letter he writes anything about supporting you specifically and goes great lengths to not mention you by name.

A) Clearly he is an extremist that needs to go through an unfortunate accident or two.
B) Clearly I should wait and see if Aethled is a traitor or not.

You send some written speeches to the peoples of the western cities.

1122 AD, Late Summer

Quote

Again your propaganda writings managed to calm peoples down.

There are news brought by travelers from further west; the Eldrican is having tough times fighting the Tirines, who apparently managed to hire a horde of nomadic mercenaries. Still, the outcomes of battles are mostly favorable for Elran and his armies.

1122 AD, Autumn

Your son Tywynn caught some fever, but the healers say he got through it with ease and no complications.

1122 AD, Mid-Autumn

The Spymaster bumps into you in one of the corridors during a cold, moonless night.

"Greetings, m'liege." He tips his hat. "I have news of great urgency for you."

"What would that be?"

"I'm sad to report that your younger brother Aethled is conspiring with some noblemen to overthrow you. Apparently the last few years convinced them and your brother that your leadership will bring ruin to Methiant. Moreover, it seems they're having talks with some Alldivine Cloisterlords to provide them with religious mercenaries, in return for some sort of concessions. Perhaps the land you denied the Cloisters a while back." You consider this carefully, your heart deeply saddened.

Is there no end for all this treachery and instability?

As for your brother Aethled and the nobles...

A) Have them executed for treason.
B) Make up some reasons to have at least some of them tried and arrested.
C) Send Aethled a letter, in hopes of reaching some understanding.
D) Gotta wait and see what they come up with.

As for the possible Alldivine treachery...

A) Have their Cloisters 'inspected' by your Army.
B) Send some agents to eliminate the high clergy involved in this affair.
C) Ignore them for now.

//No split votes pls.

You have the Treasury sponsor creation of the mines in the west.

1122 AD, Midsummer

Another round of riots! This time, or maybe we should say, again, people of cities that once were Felonsine, are rioting for various petty reasons. Several larger and few smaller settlements are affected, and the governors of those cities say they can manage the situation.

A) If they can, I see no reason not to let them try.
B) Nah, I will soothe the peasants with speeches!
C) Our Army should intervene and crush the riots.

You send them a letter asking them to get back into your fold, or else.

Quote

You get wholesome results out of those letters. Apparently some younger officers decided that you're better person to stick with, and challenged their superiors who sided with the rebel. A fierce fight over the garrison ensued and there has been several hundred casualties, but the loyal youth triumphed in the end, capturing or killing many of important rebel figureheads. THen they surrendered to your arriving officers who treated them properly.

1121, End of the Year

This tumultous year has finally come to an end. You ponder what the numbers will be, while your wife knits some tunics for your little band of princes loitering around. The Advisor arrives, and, after skillfully evading the ever-present babbies, presents you the Scrolls of Kingdom Status.

Happiness: 3
Population: 8
Economy: 2
Army: 3

You sigh. One day. One day those low numbers will be gone. You swear it on your mum.

1121, Summer

Splendid news has arrived from the east; the prospectors have found ores of iron, copper and zinc in the mountains! While there's no abundance of any of these, mining those metals would still be profitable. Perhaps it has been one of the reasons for Zasitost's existence, although their underground mines are out of your reach of course.

The prospectors and the newly settled populace of course lack funds to begin digging of the mines on their own, and therefore a petition for funds from the Crown has arrived along the report.

A) Of course we will sponsor the mines! Never there has been any gains without prior investment.
B) That sounds lovely but we're currently tight on almost everything, so no sponsorship for you guys.

You sponsor some festivities.

Quote

At first there has been some reports of misconduct and lack of cooperation, but in the end the festivities did happen. Many a weary peasant could get drunk and fed and priests declared whole year an auspicious year. The mood of the populace sure did improve.

1121 AD, Winter

Gemstones and extra silver fill into the Treasury.

1121 AD, Midwinter

An Army garrison is rebelling against your rule! Located at the Castle Atwandych in the south, they flock to the banner of the local noble, Bewulf, asking him to bring them to better glory and restore the glory of Methiant and blah blah blah.

Your courtiers are aghast at this and urge you to take action.

A) Time to kill fire with fire - onwards my soldiers!
B) How about we toss some cash at them?
C) An inspiring letter should provoke a change of heart!

You order the Army to deal with this 'King of Bandits' and his lackeys.

Quote

The Army smashes through the bandit hordes like a hot knife through the butter; Othoc and his lieutenants are captured and executed. The bandit army is no more!

1121 AD, Autumn

The harvests this year has been quite plentiful, compared to the previous. Many a governor and priest clamor that festivities should be sponsored, and your courtiers repeat after them for obvious reasons, considering recent difficulties in the kingdom.

A) Sure thing.
B) Nope, sorry.

You decide to hire some adventurers to deal with the 'bandit army' and their so-called 'King'.

1121 AD, Late Summer

Quote

The adventurers get killed. This emboldens the bandits into assaulting a keep at the border, taking it over! This causes local populace to flee and the peoples in nearby cities very loudly and very aggressively turn against your officials, demanding they do something or else!

Your courtiers see this situation as one that needs to be adressed immediately.

A) Hire a more competent group of lvl20+ adventurers, then?
B) Time to get our Army into the field to bring order back to the borderlands!

You decide to adress the people with letters, asking them to remain calm because better times are just behind the horizon.

It takes a while, and a few hundred casualties, but they eventually listen to your words.

1121 AD, Midsummer

Banditry is on the rise. In the northwest, near the forested areas, many bandit groups prey upon wealthy travelers and hapless villages, only to disappear into the thicket after they're finished with their crimes. As far as rumors go, all these groups are controlled by Othoc, self-proclaimed 'King of Bandits'!

A) We can do naught but ignore this threat, for now.
B) Our Army will deal with them with ease and haste!
C) Time to hire some lvl20+ adventurers for a mission.

You decide to sell the gemstones.

1120 AD, Winter

Quote

Silver comes in many, many boxes! And per your orders, the gemstones are sold away. The Treasurer cries a bit because its been years since he saw such profits.

1120 AD, End of the Year

Happiness: 3
Population: 7
Economy: 1
Army: 2

The Advisor coughs but he has nothing to say. You drum your fingers on the table.

Still, these could've been worse.

1121 AD, Spring

Quote
6grumblegrumble

The colonization effort has been a success! Many a wanderer or migrant from across the borders to north, east and south has moved to Methiant. The governors report that thousands have settled in the lands once controlled by Zasitost dwarves. The drive to develop the lands has led many prospectors to sniff around the mountains to the east; you might expect results in some time.

(Population is now at 8; this means extra tax money thanks to Bureaucratic reform).

1121 AD, Summer

Unfortunately, in the west, riots smolder the beautiful landscape once again. Numerous cities populated by Felonsines experience angry people stirring up trouble and beating up your officials and even city guards when nobody's looking. The local administrators believe they can fix this, but some at your court doubt their assurances.

A) Our Army will deal with these rioters!
B) I will address the people to soothe their anger!
C) Well, it's up to the governors then.
