You decide to send a letter to the dwarves too.

Few days later you receive a letter from Calahan III; he writes in it that he wants a copy of the documents to see if they're legitimate and he might be willing to negotiate your purchase of the lands.

A) Eh, let's drop the issue.
B) It was a demand, not an offer! TO ARMS!
C) Fine, I will send him a copy.

You decide to send a letter full of proper royal angst to the Gubtas.

1117 AD, Mid-Spring

The Rainbow Scepter explodes! The guards were doing their job one morning when suddenly they heard hissing, saw purple light, and then a loud rumble akin to thunder. After opening the vault they saw that the scepter was naught but a molten pool of metals and shattered gemstones.

Your courtiers angrily discuss this despicable act amongst themselves. They believe that dwarves should pay for this - after all your grandfather paid a mountain of wealth for it! You decide to...

A) Forgive the dwarves, you could've seen this coming.
B) Ask the dwarves to send some money as compensation for the destruction of priceless artifact.
C) Ask the dwarves to refund the artifact's purchase in full.
D) Act on this as a pretext to fight the dwarves.

You decide to write a letter to Calahan, demanding return of the rightful Methiant territories.

Finally, you grant an audience to the merchants.

"King Cyl!" They begin with saddest voices ever. "The expedition that went through the mountains, got to Gubta but was robbed and then held prisoner for few years before they were allowed return! The Gubta treat our men terribly and rob us!" You decide to...

A) Remove their sads with enough moneys.
B) Send an angry letter to the Gubta.
C) Shrug and tell them to go, you wasted enough on this.

You decide to meet with the Spymaster, who shows up at the side of your throne. You wish he didn't to that.

"My liege, I have fortunate news. My agents, after browsing through some libraries within Ceodwell and Methiant, have found some legitimate documents and maps which seem to indicate that the border of Methiant and Ceodwell is currently at least fifty miles too far to the west." Your courtiers murmur. You decide to write up a letter to Calahan III, in which you...

A) Demand return of the rightful Methiant territory.
B) Monetary compensation for the territory.
C) Inform him that you formally 'cede' the land to him.

You try to solve this diplomatically.

This only incenses them more. They mumble angrily in their language amongst themselves for a while.

"It seems people of Methiant do not wish to be friends with dwarves anymore. So be it!" They storm away angrily.

The guards look after the dwarves and then ask whom you want to see next.

A) The merchants!
B) The Spymaster!

You decide to meet with dwarves first.

"King Cyl!" The leader of the group shouts almost from the very door of the throne room. "Despite your promises that your peoples wouldn't loot, we have catalogued sixteen crimes of looting by Methiant subjects! This is an outrage! Or do you not control your subjects at all??" The angry, bald dwarf presents you a ledger. The pages are full of dwarven script on the left-hand pages, and human script, what you assume a translation, on the right-hand pages. It details various individuals being seized and in possession of 'missing' dwarven crafts from Zasitost. The dates in the ledger go as far as Summer 1116.

"Compensate us for thievery of your men!" The dwarves cry in unison.

A) Toss money at them so they shut up.
B) Tell them to shut up or else.
C) Attempt a diplomatic solution.

You sponsor a year of festivities to lift people's spirits.

1117 AD, Spring

Three groups of people want to meet with you. The first is a group of rather annoyed dwarves, the other is a group of very sad merchants, and the third is the Spymaster with few of his agents.

A) Spymaster!
B) Dwarves!
C) Merchants!

You send your mighty Army to crush the disorganized rebels.

Two weeks later you receive news of a flawless victory. Few of the two thousand fled to see the next morning.

1116 AD, Midwinter

You receive a report from the south; your soldiers helped quell a noble uprising against King Umar and his court.

1116 AD, End of the Year

Like every year, the Advisor arrives at your room. The Scrolls of Kingdom Status are of course in his hands.

Happiness: 3
Population: 7
Economy: 4
Army: 6

You know what the Advisor will talk about even before he coughs.

"My liege, the peasants are unhappy. Shall we sponsor some festivities for next year?"

A) "Sure, let's party a bit."
B) "No, we're still short on monies."

You order the Spymaster to send agents to destabilize the rebel horde.

And within two weeks, the agents do just that; one of the leaders who was the 'glue' of the others was slain, causing several to get into debacles about the course of action, but apparently another prominent figure rose amongst them that seems to be slowly getting things back into normalcy.

A) Send them a letter, they will listen now.
B) Send the Army in, they're weak now.

You decide to allow the Shotan sponsor their temples on the Republican soil. One more cult to the already filled-up melting pot!

Autumn, 255 REE

The Diplomats want u to sign a paper - a very controversial paper it seems.

It is for the execution of Teo Sare, an elderly Bureaucrat politician with a large family, who has been found wooing young ladies of proper birth and depraving them within the dark chambers of his manor. The Diplomats will not see this happen, because, as they say, the evidence is circumstatial and none of the ladies are more than plebeian girls selling themselves for coin.

Even as you review the paper, there has been several fisticuffs in the Council or outside it, the guards say.

A) Tear the paper apart, its clear the good ol' Teo is a victim of political infighting.
B) Sign the paper, it's just wrong for a stately old man to do as he pleases with unmarried girls.
C) Demand calm and offer to mediate between the Diplomats and the Bureaucrats.

You decide to send supplies to Kingdom of Cydwyl to help Queen Dogethe once again.

1116 AD, Winter

Fireblood ingredients and the silver come to your palace, the former in exchange for gemstones of course.

The very next day, you learn that there is a revolt in the southwest! Some peasants, unhappy with taxation, has gathered under a banner of a traitor named Teón, a (ex-)governor of one of the cities. The peasant horde is apparently 2.000 strong and is besieging the city that Teón once governed, Aeltiach.

A) Send a letter to the rebel horde, asking them to disarm.
B) Order the Spymaster to have their leadership eliminated, so the rebels implode on themselves.
C) About time our Army gets some target practice within Methiant - send them in!

You order the Pantheonist priests to purge the tomb just in case and have scholars study it more closely.

1116 AD, Autumn

Your dear wife gives birth to a boy! She names him 'Culainn'.

Few days later, you receive an visit from an envoy of Queen Dogethe.

"Greetings, King Cyl! Our Queen once again trusts the people of Methiant to provide for her people. The recent catastrophe has subsided and the Agaresians have been beaten, but the people of Cydwyl suffer famine and hunger. This time Queen Dogethe hopes that you can spare money and supplies without a promise for reward, for Queen Dogethe in her pursuit of keeping the life of her subjects decent has unfortunately run short on money." Courtiers murmur, the envoy awaits, and you decide to...

A) Demand that you be paid for services, as before, by Queen Dogethe.
B) Decide to show-off your generosity and provide supplies for Kingdom of Cydwyl.
C) Refuse because neither you nor your Kingdom are a charity organization.

You agree to send some more soldiers to Lametania in exchange for processed copper and crafts made thereof. THe grateful Lametanians leave to inform their king right away.

1116 AD, Midsummer

Interesting report arrives from the Tven mountains; when the miners of your new silver mines were digging up exploratory shafts outside the mines, one of the groups struck into apparent entrance to a tomb! The tomb is walled with rather, flat stone slabs rather than bricks or square stonework. The local scholar cannot identify the inscriptions on the frontal slab but it seems to a very old variation of the local language.

The overseer asks what to do with the tomb.

A) Bury it back and make sure no one mines near it, lest we wake up some devilish menace.
B) Have the tomb purified by the priests, then study it.
C) Just crack open the tomb and have the things innit brought to the Capital!
