You decide to preserve the kingdom even if that means your family might not survive intact.

Few days later, the proclamation of divorce circulates while Segeda, truly in shock and speechless, is escorted under guard to her home.

You send a letter to the western rebels...

...and they accept the decision. Some doesn't, and you hear a bloody skirmish followed

Within few weeks, many noblemen who has risen against you arrives at your throne room to praise your leadership and ask for forgiveness.

1104 AD, Autumn

A most unseen thing has happened in the far south. Damdamian Republic and Damdamian Empire has, after decades upon decades of conflict, decided to go for a peaceful solution. Already there are rumors that their politicians will attempt some sort of a merger, to satisfy both religious Imperialists and the shrewd Republicans.

Who knows what kind of radical idea might be brewing amongst the Damdamian politcians. Feudal republic? Elective monarchy? Something more complex? Time will tell.

Few days later, father of Segeda has sent you an insulting letter - he demands that the dowry and expenses for wedding feast are to be repaid to him!

A) Send him the money, he can have it just as he can have his terrible daughter.
B) Send him a letter in which you demand he shuts up.
C) Send agents to imprison the crazy old man.

Your decision makes some courtiers angry, but still, you are the King.

Or, until few seconds earlier, were.

1104 AD, Midsummer

You are Yoe II, and you have returned to the throne of the Kingdom of Methiant! Your most honorable and trustworthy brother has passed the throne to you after you were more or less proven to be sane and well again.

The last two years, you remember them as if through fog. The earliest thing you clearly remember is waking up in your cell one summer day, very confused. Let's not think about this embarassing matter too much.

You just receive news that caravan from Eldrican has arrived, bearing Fireblood components in exchange for gemstones. That is good.

1104 AD, Late Summer

Rebellion! Rebellion occurs in the west of Methiant, roughly at the lands of Felonsines. It is some of your own noblemen, disgruntled that Segeda once again meddled in affairs of the state and got you reinstated. They are led by the court members who previously decided that, instead of Segeda having a regency over Cyl, your brother Luath is to rule Methiant.

They have only one postulate really; that your most loyal wife Segeda is to be divorced and sent home after being stripped of all titles and priviledges. Obviously, they won't stop from directly bearing arms against you if you do not comply. They do not have Luath or his family with them; he didn't have time to move out from the royal palace yet, and when the news reached your court, your captain of guard, out of his own initiative, put him and his relatives into house arrest.

"Bastards." Segeda scoffs from above her books after you tell her the news. "I should've known from beginning when they managed to get Luath onto the throne. Traitors, all of them!" You calm your wife down and then meet with the loyal noblemen at your court.

Few of them consider the demand of the rebels, but most go for the obvious action:

"Our Army ought to march forth and crush the rebel scum!" The Advisor brings some scrolls with numbers for you.

"They command little in terms of military numbers*, and have almost no funds, but they might have loyalty of as much as third of Methiant subjects* to replenish their ranks if their situation turns so dire." The noblemen clamor for action.

One way or another, the Kingdom is now suffering from a civil war. After much thought, you decide to...

A) Divorce Segeda and send her home to fix the situation before it gets uglier.
B) Personally lead the Army to crush the rebel scum.
C) Send a letter of negotiation, maybe some money or other concessions might appease them.
D) Send the Army to destroy the rebel forces.

She steps forward and raises her hands, palm open, towards the ceiling of the audience room.

"O, Mare Terra!
Oh, Pare Cel!
Concedeixe aquest desig!"

Suddenly, the skies outside darken!

"Tot el bé i el mal
i el brillant i el fosc
amplieu el poder de la vida!"

And now the royal palace is shaking! Your courtiers are screaming in terror!!

"Déu intemporal de la mort
No busqueu aquesta família
I que prosperin!"

You slump onto your throne as your wife collapses to the floor. But the extreme dizziness and numbness of limbs that suddenly seized you disappears just as suddenly; the earthquake stops and the sky is clear once more. You look at the Sorceress, who seems to be quite pleased with herself.

"Now, I want my riches." Not willing to anger the powerful woman any further, you order the guards to take her to the Treasury. Later her monstrous entourage leaves, packing bags upon bags of coinage and gemstones, leaving the royal vaults mostly empty. Your Treasurer spends most of the day weeping.

1104 AD, Summer

You receive a report from the dungeon overlord. He claims that lately, your mentally sick brother Yoe II was just... better. He had no outbursts of screaming, has been sleeping properly and even held several conversations with the guards, who saw barely a tint of insanity remaining in him.

Few days later, as the news get around the Palace, your healers bring joyous news - your daughter Yra has been improving in matter of days!

A week passes and the courtiers gather in your throne room, arguing loudly. Your sister-in-law, Duchess Segeda, has sent them a letter that split the court in two. In the letter she asks that you abdicate and that Yoe II be reinstated as the King of Methiant.

"This might be only temporary improvement, and King Luath was all but incompetent during last two years! He should remain our King till Cyl's ascension, as agreed!"

"King Yoe II has been cured and is the legitimate ruler of Methiant! Let him back on the throne!" One way or another, Segeda opposes you once more, and now even the court isn't sure whom to follow.

After a long debate, you decide to...

A) Man up and toss Segeda where she belongs - into the dungeon - and claim the throne for self and your descendants!
B) Agree to abdicate and return the throne to your apparently cured brother, Yoe II.
C) Stick to the old plan - the throne will return to Yoe dynasty but only when Prince Cyl becomes of age.

You attempt to negotiate with the Sorceress, so she accepts less money.

"Negotiate? You dare negotiate with ME!?" Xaviera looks like she is about to explode you and people inside the throne room, but only harrumphs.

"Alright. I have a good mood today. I can spare you one tick extra off your Economy rating."

"Our what?"

"You know what I'm talking about." She stares expectantly at you.

A) That's a good deal!
B) Maybe a tiny bit more?
C) Nah, that won't do.

You ask the Sorceress to bless your family with good health and longevity and children. Xaviera Roarecho simply huffs.

"And that's all? Pathetic wish for pathetic king, I guess!"

Your courtiers grumble at her insults but she doesn't pay attention to them. Instead, she looks at you.

"I wish to be paid for my services, of course."

"How much?" The Treasurer asks, a bit nervously. Xaviera rolls her eyes and with ap uff of silver smoke, a scroll materializes in Treasurer's hands. He reads it and suddenly wheezes.

"My liege! Our Treasury will be nearly emptied if we agree to this!" The Sorceress grimaces.

"Idiot! Did you think I would see myself cheaply? By gods big and small, I value myself highly!" You decide to...

A) Pay Xaviera Roarecho what she wants.
B) Attempt to negotiate a lower amount of money
C) Politely refuse her services, due to exorbitant price.

You reply that you are willing to enlist Xaviera's services.

1104 AD, Mid-Spring

The guards hurriedly open the gates as the grotesque cavalcade enters your castle! A pair of winged, scimitar-wielding men in loincloths, eleven giant cockroaches with rubies for eyes, a throng of goblin who-knows-whats in white robes, and at the end, Xaviera Roarecho herself, riding a black hrse with glowing white eyes and fiery pink mane.

Xaviera Roarecho has skin as black as charchoal and hair whiter than snow. A chainmail made of some redddish metal covers her body. Your wife elbows you after a moment so you keep your eyes up.

The Advisor whispers that there is clear difference between the two magical entities, Wizards and Sorceresses - while Wizards travel light to do good, Sorceresses are extremely vain, and thirst for any and all riches they can get.

The sorceress raises a hand and her terrifying mount kneels, allowing her to get off the animal.

"I am Xaviera Roarecho, Guardian of the South, Heiress to the Emerald Throne, Protector of the Ruby Scepter, Lady of the White Flame, and Sorceress Extraordinaire. I've heard of the riches you possess, and that is all that interests me, human king. Do tell, what do you want of me?" You explain that you're not sure what you can ask of her. She scoffs.

"Bah! I can make you smarter! Grant you immense powers! Conjure you a magical, fearsome beast! Think of something, little brain, I'm sure there's something a petty monarch like you desires."

You decide to ask for...

A) Ask for an artifact... (details to follow)
B) Ask for a spell that will scare fanciful creatures away from the kingdom's borders.
C) Ask for prosperity and growth for the Kingdom and its populace.
D) Ask for a mighty beast to be bound as your pet/mount/guardian/something like that.
E) Ask for wisdom about many things.
F) Ask for skills of elite battlemaster.
G) -
H) Ask for endurance and better health.
I) Ask for innate good luck.
J) Ask for a spell that will make your soldiers stronger.
K) Ask for health and prosperity for your family.

You decide to keep the money in the vault for now.

1104 AD, Spring

You receive a letter from one of noblemen in far northwest of your Kingdom.

He writes that a powerful Sorceress by the name of Xaviera Roarecho was passing through his domain on her way who knows where, and heard tales of the immense wealth of Methiant. The noble inquires, on Xaviera's behalf, whether your would be willing to see the Sorceress to purchase her grandiose services.

A) Sure.
B) Nah.

You accept their offer of 'payment' for your grain.

The Hurthlings depart two weeks later with lots of wagons of grain.

1103 AD, Winter

Agaresian caravan arrives! They bring bags upon bags of salt.

Quote

Selling the salt to your subjects earns you some profits that equal the cost of the salt; your people are happy to be able to add salt to their dishes! Speaking of silver:

Quote

The silver mines managed to fill the yearly quotas, but just barely.

1103 AD, Midwinter

Ana gives birth to a child! It's a boy; your wife names him 'Duach'.

You receive reports from the borderlands; some brave men entered the domain of the Hurthlings and did a little of trading with them, although they haven't traveresed further than a day travel from their borders - confirming that Hurthlings are, or rather, were, suffering from crop failure. Some of younger Hurthlings then decided to travel to your lands and do some sightseeing at the border.

1103 AD, End of the Year

It's that time of the Year, and the Advisor is as punctual as ever.

Happiness: 6
Population: 6
Economy: 8
Army: 4

"My liege! We have managed to accumulate lots of wealth this year. Shall we spend it in some way?" You decide to...

A) Request dwarves to come to your palace and make an artifact.
B) Donate some wealth to appease the peasants.
C) Just keep the money in the vault.
D) Build a grandiose monument to commemorate your prosperous reign.
