You hold your sword aloft and CHAAAARGE!
This ends in both of you falling to the ground. While the bodyguards do manage to help you stand up, the Felonsine noble stays on the ground, blood pouring from the face wound you inflicted upon him. This could've very well be the other way around, you know!
You soon learn that he was indeed someone important.
The rebels do not fight as well and the y are beaten back from your flank, but only slightly. The battle continues as you and your commanders bark orders to keep the soldiers fighting!
The haphazard combination of troops amongst Felonsines, loss of a commander and loyalty of your soldiers tip the outcome of the battle in your favor. Soon, the mercenaries and other less trusted folk flee en masse, leaving their noble overlords behind to be destroyed.
By the next morning, you have twenty captives; your agents, after checking the bodies and questioning the captured nobles estimate that this battle helped get rid of 3/4ths of the nobles unaccounted for during last year's 'purge' before King Elran's arrival. Good riddance.
A week later, after your soldiers hunt down some more nobles and weed out lesser conspirators hiding in the area, the rebellion is dead. You return home, victorious.
Delivery of Fireblood components arrives from the west! As the Advisor delivers you this report, he also mentions that the resources are already being transferred into the hands of your alchemists and metallurgists, guided by the wise scholars of King Elran.
Speaking of which, the head of the Methiant's alchemists approaches you few days later.
"My liege, there's a dilemma going amongst me fellow alchemists. We have broad knowledge of how to manufacture Blackhearts, but the scholars from the west have designs for more elaborate machines which also use a different material composition for Fireblood and thus can acquire greater range and strength of the projectile; they call them Thundercats."
"So what's the dilemma because I do not really follow?" The alchemist smiles.
"It's that we can have some Blackhearts assembled and ready for war in few weeks' time, but making those Thundermares, that will take months of time till we learn how to do it skillfully... and we will need a larger assembly hall, some laboratories, and of course a specialized furnace..." A torch lits up above your head.
"You want money." The old alchemist smiles sheepishly and nods.
A) "Fine, you shall have the money. Blackhearts are so last century anyways - start making those Thundercats!"
B) "We don't need new designs, we need fire and roar to scare our enemies. Just forge me some Blackhearts, at once!"
