You decide to sponsor the harvest festivities!

People take it as a fact rather than an occassion to praise your name! Some of your courtiers even openly grumble that such waste of money should not happen again in near future.

1096 AD, Mid-Autumn

The old and cruel Donuth is dead!

The barbaric yet strong-willed despot has died peacefully in his sleep, a fate that should not befall a man of such cruelty as his. But his domain won't last long; of his fifteen children, six are now marshalling to war, including his eldest daughter. Mercenaries and enslaved thralls will die en masse in this bloody war of succession.

There are rumors and reports from travelers that Cydwyl Kingdom is moving troops to border with Donuth, either to prevent spill-outs or to seize some land for themselves. Probably the latter, really.

Your courtiers murmur that Methiant should take the piece of lawless but populated cake for itself.

A) Send the troops over the border - it's conquering time!
B) Let's negotiate with Queen Dogethe of Cydwyl first. Maybe she agrees for a fair split?
C) Nah, we will pass, lest we anger the Cydwyls.

You dismiss the diplomat, who leaves unhappy.

1097 AD, Autumn

The harvests this year has been most bontiful! From peasants through magistrates to noblemen and clergy, everyone clamors that a grand festival should be sponsored by the crown to celebrate the agricultural wealth of the land!

A) Naw, not this year.
B) But of course! PARTY TIME!

You tell the envoy rather forcefully that King Elran III won't have Methiant money.

"I'm sure however, that such a powerful and wise monarch like you would be willing to negotiate?"

A) "Fine, I can loan him half the money requested." (4 Economy, 4 years repayment)
B) "Fine, I can spare half the money he wants as a gift." (2 Economy)
C) "I shall not repeat myself. Now shoo!"

You allow the envoy to speak with you privately. Once you two are alone and the door is closed, suddenly he takes out a hidden crossbow and pulls the trigger!

Hahah, nah, just screwing with you guys.

Once you two are alone and the door is closed, the envoy bows to you softly.

"I bring dire news from my King. While the developments on our fronts have been most successful, the royal Treasury has been thoroughly drained and King Elran is worried that a year or two more of stiff Koi resistance and his nobles might start complaining while mercenaries will abandon our cause en masse. Therefore he has tasked me with this request - he requires money from our most trusted ally, Kingdom of Methiant. Either a 'small' donation in return of our good will, or a bigger loan that King Elran would start paying off only after we win against the accursed Kiwis and Kois. He has already secured a safe route through the heavily protected lands of Ankurvat dwarves, but your men would need to escort the money through Felonsein..."

You then ask him what kinda money he is talking about and you grimace - that's kinda lotsa money, and the payment plan ain't better!

(One time donation: 5 bits of Economy, loan: 7 bits of Economy, paid back 1 per 1 year only after end of war).

A) "King Elran will know our generosity. I shall donate the smaller amount of money to his cause."
B) "King Elran must be joking. I won't give away such outrageous amount of money to sponsor his badly planned war!"
C) "I cannot give money - but how about I send some of Methiantese forces to assault the lands of Koi?"
D) "King Elran must know that I prefer fair deals. I shall send the loan money, and expectantly await return of it."

It is 1st January 1800

Starting as humble mercantile Brandenburg, turning into Elector and briefly being HRE Emperor during the traumatic times of Protestantism, transforming and conquering my way to become Prussia in whole of 1600-1700s, meanwhile breaking the hegemonies of Portugal, Sweden, France and Austria, in that order, I completed German Unification after the highly profitable mercantile republic of Lubeck was annexed on the last day of 1799 while Dresden and Thuringen became cores few months prior.

Russia is in Personal Union with us, Polish-Bohemian union was disassembled (with the former being deleted from existence) while Sweden and Castille are our best friends.

Germany, a Constitutional Monarchy of fair warrior-kings and devoted, happy free subjects, race through tech tree as they left the ancient and backwards Holy Roman Empire behind. Such was an impact of this decision that numerous tiny lands in west send spies and diplomatic warnings towards the great Germany while Austria, the alliance-master and protector of Catholic faith himself begs for alliance with Germany.

21 years to go, and I dunno where to go, BUT I WILL BE FUN~!

You decide to write up and sign a guarantee of your own. Random events nonwithstanding, this will bring your two families closer than before. The envoy thanks you profusely before leaving.

The Eldrican diplomat comes in next. The guards search the confused envoy first. He then pats his robes so they look nice again and steps forward to your throne.

"Greetings, King Yoe! I bring a request from my King, one of utmost importance. May we speak in private?"

A) "But of course, let's retreat to one of side chambers."
B) "Speak publicly or don't speak at all."

You decide to meet with Ceodwellian envoy first.

"Greetings, King Yoe! My lord and king, Ceodwell X, was most pleased to hear that you agree to have your daughter marry his son. For this, he wrote a guarantee that says his nation to be damned if the contract is broken by his family or nobles." The envoy moves up to your throne and hands you the scroll. Ceodwell X must like you very much if he is risking such a guarantee for almost fifteen years - after all, one unfortunate accident plus one uppity cousin and things might turn ugly very quickly.

A) "Tell your master I am deeply moved by his kind gesture. You may now go."
B) "If he trusts us so much, let us do the same! I will give him a written guarantee of my own in return for this!"

Ethan was busy thinking and considering his options for a long while. The training fight nearby didn't make his eyes wander - even if there was a lot for eyes to wander at - but instead helped him concentrate. Finally, he stepped closer to the rest of the crew.

"We will keep the orb and use it to find the royal treasures. All of them."

1 Decision 1 Season v:

THIS IS GOING ON ~HIATUS~

Two main or rather the only two reasons being:

1. New computer, which means I can catch up with games I always wanted
2. Documentation tally at work, which means I have to spend usually extra 1-2 hours at work doing nothing but numbers

The hiatus will take at least two weeks; at start of November there are few days off work and the tally ends, plus two weeks of gaming is enough to get my FEF drive refueled v;
