The initial assault smashed the roof of the mighty keep! The subsequent volleys smash apart the tall towers and soon a smoke follows, rising from the central keep, the attack proving more devastating than your officers could've imagined! Either by luck or maybe mysterious two explosions inside the keep, you reduce the once proud fortress to a sorry state within hours.

By the sunset, when there's a lull in bombardment , there's a loud horn sound coming from the fortress, and a lone rider leaves the castle gates, a white scarf of truce around his neck.

He is brought to your tent, where he kneels before you.

"My lord commander, Prince Alac, asks you for mercy and offers to surrender the castle to you if only you allow him and his garrison to leave for the south." You decide to...

A) Refuse to negotiate and continue the bombardment for a bit longer.
B) Grant freedom to Prince Alac and his men in exchange for the fortress.
C) Accept surrender only if Prince Alac and his men either become your followers or your prisoners!

The enemy is routed by sheer mass of your counter-attack! The amount of casualties amongst your loyal horsemen is negligible. And most importantly - the Blackhearts suffer no damage. Phew!

In an hours time, your troops are ready to begin the siege.

A) Time to blast the Asortum castle into pile of rubble!
B) Time to plop down and enjoy a nice picnic for next few weeks.

Time for more obscurity game I racked from the edges of my memory:

I remember getting this platformer game in early 2000s. It involved a little guy, wearing a knight suit, ascending a top-scrolling platformer to gather stars and rescue princess(es) or just reach the exit. Sometimes, you chief enemies were simply spikes or a flood of lava coming from below the screen.

The game was entirely in German and came with a map editor that was easy to use. Graphics were rather low quality, maybe made in Photoshop or even MSPaint.

The Terran Empire was doing good. Its numerous colonies grew in size and numbers as the terran Galleys and Centurions captured enemy ships and starbases with assault shuttles and boarding parties. We even managed to conquer Bulrathi and Meklar, and were preparing to gobble up the next minor neighbour, the Alkari...

...when someone framed us against the Psilons. The Psilons flipped into a rage against us and their mighty Titanfleet rolled over our colonies right into Terra system, exploding our stuff with advanced weapons that our scientists were barely poking sticks at.

And so, the Terran Empire and Emperor Macarena XI died in a hail of anti-matter bombardment.
