The liquor sure helps when the wound if poked around, but it is bound to heal nicely.

(Miguel Manuello de la Costo regains 1 Max Wound!)

It is now Late Morning!

It ricochets off the boulder!

Will Miguel Manuello de la Costo's also miss Michael Trowel?

A burst of red comes from Michael Trowel's head as the hat falls off and he crumbles to the side and comest to eternal rest on the dirt beside the boulder!

"Michael! You will pay for that!!" Ian Trowel quickly points his gun at Miguel Manuello de la Costo and pulls the trigger!

A split-moment later Miguel feels a deep burning pain in his side!

Then Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet aims with his rifle and...

The bullet fairly rips through the air. Ian Trowel stands up stiffly like a plank, tumbles backwards and falls onto the ground, arms and legs splayed, his shirt's collar turning red rapidly.

SHOOTOUT!!

TURN 1

When the bullet is shot (at a wide missing line) and the word is shouted (at a startingly high pitch), the man at the cauldron ducks and yells. Another in similar duster and matching black hat runs out of the shack, his gun held high! His cauldron-tending companion draws a gun and they both run for cover of the nearby rocks!

The deputies ought to do the same and find cover! Or maybe they try their luck shooting right away?

Following another hunch they had, the deputies crossed the prairie further west and then moved onto the mountains west.

Soon as the morning break and they continue they search, a few hundred meters forward, they spot a small, crude shack built against the side of a hill. A wisp of smoke is rising from a small fireplace, a small cooking pot hanging on a chain over a tripod of large sticks. A lone horse, with saddle and bags on it, is tied to a lone post, few meters to the left-side of the shack.

A lone, tall man in a duster and black hat is stirring in the pot with some long spoon. The door to the shack is open, but it is too dark inside to see anything from this far away, and it has no windows to look through either.

The man is too absorbed with cooking his meal to spot the deputies from this far away.

Following the journey through the prairie and then through the mountains, with the sun setting to the side and sky darkening, the quartet finds no signs of human presence before them.

Whilst there was some random trash in some places, like a broken bottle here, or discarded cloth there, all was covered in dust of weeks or mayhaps months worth of time. There was nothing else. No hoof-prints, or foot-prints, no remnant campsites, nothing.

The Trowel Brothers are definitely not here.

Young Lady of Agua Fria: "The Trowel brothers? Why, I had met Michael once here. He tried to seduce me but honestly he was hitting too much bottles. But, otherwise, he was a pleasant fellow, well, if not for those eyes of his. They looked big and all-seeing, like eyes of an owl. What kinda man has eyes like this, really?"

The pricelist is carved on a wooden panel by the shopkeep's desk:

Northwesternly:

Agua Fria, Train Station
Pat "the Ghost" Gibbet (notquitethere)

Pat enters the train station which is deserted at this time of day.

A large blackboard, with words and numbers and little x's and long lines drawn in chalk, hangs on the wall opposite from clerks' desks.

Out of four clerk's desks, only one is occupied by train station lady in black uniform with golden trims. She looks at Pat expectantly.

A large and beautiful barlady stands behind the bar, pouring some drinks for parched patrons.

Some other patrons are busy playing blackjack. The pianist at the large wooden piano is playing a happy tune.
