A city is indeed found worthy of conquest - Edain an Evel, with its fortified walls, large population and some regional wealth!

About a week later, your Army is surrounding the city.

Unfortunately, there are some unfortunate or outright disastrous news for you just as you unpack your bags - the Dahnians have been beaten! Their Crown Prince has been slain and his now heir-less father ran away with his bodyguard back north, with Cydwyl horsemen in hot pursuit.

A) And what of it? That's on the other side of the kingdom, we can besiege Edain an Evel anyways!
B) Oh, uh, then we better retreat and hole up in Ydwall!
C) Now is our chance! Let's run to their capital and finish what Dahnians started!

...

Or go to the voting poll and become President of SPAMDEMOCRACY!

9258
Your President name: Make one that fits a Modern-ish setting.
Your President faction: A name and place on the left/right scale is all I ask for.
Your President primary cocern: Strong Military, Stable Economics, International Reputation, Internal Stability

And that's all, but to start properly we need at least 20 or so votes!

You let your soldiers loot the place.

Quote
3to4

They go rather thoroughly through it, punishing the citizenry, stealing their loot and wives.

After several days, your Army reassembles after this good party time. There were about thousand casualties in the city and about twenty amongst your soldiers (responsible Ydwall peasants were punished, don't worry).

The officers bring you a report from a scot; Dahnians have successfully destroyed a large Cydwyl Army and are now marching toward the capital.

A) Let's go to the capital and conquer it before Dahnians for giggles and loot!
B) Let's camp around here for a while and maybe someone will come out to fight us.
C) Let's seek another city to force into submission! Or maybe two!
D) Let's call it a well-done campaign so we go back home and Dahnians do their stuff.

Your send your own horsemen against the Cydwyl savages Just ot be safe, you put on your armor, mount a horse and draw your sword.

Quote

The initial push is met with fierce resistance of Methiant horsemen! They enter a deadly melee with the Cydwyl riders, swords and axes and spears mingling together.

Quote
6

But your men prevail, and a bloody mess engulfs the Cydwyl horsemen, who fall in droves. The rest, seeing their brave but reckless charge fail, rout and flee toward the city.

Your officers murmur and urge you to punish the Ydwall severely, as they seem not interested in negotiations and reason!

You decide to...

A) Bombard the city into total ruination.
B) Send your soldiers to pillage the city.

You await further developments.

After an hour, scouts raise an alarm; a host of Cydwyl horsemen emerged from the gates and are rushing toward your positions! You decide to counter with...

A) Blackhearts
B) Archers
C) Horsemen

9265
You order a barrage of artillery fire followed by a run of infantry and horsemen to capture enemy trenches! All this while

Several minutes later, while you hear the distant artillery going, your Lieutenant hands you the phone.

"Hellooo?"

"Major Mogard? This is Lieutenant Colonel Aspir speaking. Mogard, I do not have any reconnaisance craft ready! Several are undergoing repairs and Colonel Radjik has requested heavy bombardment of Ardaug fields, so I can't devote any fighter and bomber planes either. Can't you do without my steelbirds?" You decide to...

A) Stress the utmost importance of your offensive and demand that Aspir finds some planes to do the scouting.
B) Apologize to him and tell your sub-officers that they will be storming the trenches without air reconnaisance.
C) Threaten to report him to the Patriotic Courts if you won't have recon planes going above your head in half an hour.
D) Ask him whether he can provide planes tomorrow morning as you will try to postpone the offensive.

1st Mai, 1880 CYA*

You are Major Rikkard Mogard, field officer of the Gulden Empire!

The Great War, dubbed by the contemporary historians already, has been a bloody five years business so far. Who thought that those Sterling bastards would react so strongly against conquest of a small republic on the other side of the Empire?

But they did, and they dragged their friends into it, and so your beloved Emperor Matthias III had to drag his own friends into it.

Five years have passed and the trenches are filled with bodies, farm fields littered with wreckages of steelbirds, and depths of sea sprinkled liberally with sunken vessels. The Great War carries on and you have been recently promoted to full command.

You're well known amongst your trops as a confident and caring father figure, who gets along with his soldiers and your soldiers repay you with loyalty and utmost respect.

5th Mai, 1880 CYA

You arrive at the frontlines, and the 11th Arrmy, of the recently killed Major Potatokin, becomes yours, per orders of the Emperor himself.

After the morning cup of tea, Lieutenant Fritz Frizten brings you the Army Ledger:

Morale: Moderately High (7)
Manpower: 68.500 Imperial soldiers
Vehicles: 142 Landships (mostly medium-size), 84 Mobile Guns
Supplies: Average (5)
Support: Adequate (5, mostly artillery)

Then your Lieutenant reminds you of current task: continuation of the paused Kapustatt Offensive through the southeastern border of the Umbrian Republic.

Reconnaisance report places many trenches and pillboxes in your way, and although Umbrian airforce is decimated, they have the saupport of Sterling steelbirds, and of course the reckless Umbrian cavalry is known to strike at least fortunate times.

It is time to set orders!

As for the pace of the offensive...

A) We will go slow and steady, pushing through the fortified area in one spot while other strongpoints are only tied up.
B) We will rush landships and cavalry through the trenches - why bother conquering something that you can simply roll over?
C) We will blast the entrenched enemies with artillery before our infantry moves in to conquer the trenches for the Empire!

As for the support...

A) We will call the local Imperial Airforce units to provide reconnaisance.
B) We will call the local Imperial Airforce units to provide strafing and bombing of the trenches.
C) We will do without it.

Pssst, guys, look what I made, it's so pretty, you should join immediately '<.

You decide to approach the city and give it hell in the ways of BOMBARDMENT!!

Quote
5*

Your Blackhearts smash apart more towers and fortifications of the outer walls, and smoke thickens inside the city. The trebuchet fire is late to reply and comes in sporadic amounts.

Several barrages later, you hear a loud rumbling noise; many of your officers witness alongside you as the central gate and its surrounding walls crumble and collapse into giant pile of rubble!

A) Charge, my soldiers, and take the city with swords and torches!
B) Continue bombardment till they come crawling to us, begging for mercy!
C) Stop the barrage and wait for now, let them think it over.

Q: Haspen y u do this
A: Because I don't know any better and have to make up another one with random gimmick at its focus?

You guys gotta fill out this:

Name: make up some!
Army Bonus: Morale, Manpower, Vehicles, Supplies, Support
Trait: Father Figure, Tactician, Logistician, Friends at HQ, Athletic, Improvisator
Allegiance:
GRAND IMPERIAL ALLIANCE: Gulden Empire (provoker of the Great War, huge manpower and vehicular reserves)
High Kingdom of Krone (elite marksmen, ally of Gulden Empire)
Third Lirean Republic (low manpower, famous artillerymen and aviators, ally of Gulden Empire)
Urgyan Monarchy (minor manpower, elite rangers/cavalrymen, ally of Gulden Empire)
CONCORDAT OF LIONS: Sterling Monarchy (great air support, decent manpower, archenemy of Guldens)
Umbrian Republic (great manpower, but inferior vehicles, ally of Sterling Monarchy)
Saltanian Republic-in-Exile (near-fanatical remnants, victim of Gulden aggression, ally of Sterling Monarchy)
United Kraltia (decent manpower, automobile innovators, ally of Sterling Monarchy)

And that's all! Fast updates of the military victories, defeats and the career of the army officer promised!

You order a retreat away from the range of the trebuchets, and thus, the siege of Ydwall becomes less tighter. An envoy is sent with inquiry whether Ydwall citizens would like to surrender.

After two days and awfully quiet countryside, your officers murmur a need for some action.

A) Naw, let's stay around few more days.
B) Resume the siege.
C) RESUME BOMBARDMENT!
