And then there was a murder, committed against a chick, most fowl.

You order another few barrages at the city!

Quote
4*

The thunderous roar of the engines is probably startling people few miles away.

Another cannon is lost and few dozen peopl killed total, but they do it! Scouts report several strongpoints and towers flanking the southern gate of Ynwall collapse, with the gate's structure damaged as well.

A) Now it's time to retreat, camp somewhere safe, and wait.
B) Now it's time to retreat and camp somewhere safe while we send another envoy.
C) More destruction! More explosions! Do not stop!

You order Blackhearts to fire upon the city!

Quote
1*

The assault goes poorly; the Blackhearts fire slow while the trebuchets do not. Several puffs of smoke rise from the bombarded city and those with keener eyesight report a single tower crumbling, but otherwise the walls are unbreached.

Then the worst happens; one of the Blackhearts fires up prematurely, sending fiery bits of Fireblood and hot metal shrapnel around!

Quote
6

You had good luck in this bad luck; no one else but the crew of that Blackheart perished, as it was on the far flank and by distance was furthest from all others.

Quote
3*

Trebuchets keep launching their stones and two more Blackhearts are destroyed! Along with the precious machines of war, many operators are killed and at least fifty more of your soldiers perish as well. The city smokes a bit as well, but neither its walls or spirit seems to be broken yet.

After the third barrage, the Blackhearts require thorough cleaning, and their operators hurry with their acids and other ingredients.

A) Keep'em going, boys!
B) Okay, that's it - time to retreat.

You send them an offer of surrender.

Your emissary returns with the first of the trebuchet shots landing in your camp!

Fortunately, the Cydwyl siege operators are either blind, untrained or too far to do any real damage, except of course some unfortunate men and horses crushed under the stones.

A) BLACKHEARTS AWAY!!
B) Retreat! Retreat to safer grounds!

Fell mood victims are treated just like animals designated for slaughter - they're dragged to the workshop and are instagibbed for instant resource bundle.

Personally I like my fort being either dark green (olivine), dark red (kaolinite) or plain gray, either darker or lighter shade of it (mica, granite, and buncha others).

You move on to Ydwall.

Next day, your Army half-surrounds the city from the south, with few groups of scouts running off northwards to keep watch over the roads.

An agent brings you information on the city.

"The inner keep of the city has very spacious barracks, and from what I heard from the citizenry, up to two thousand soldiers garrison the city pretty much every time. Furthermore, the are trebuchets installed inside the city, the garrison having them prepared when we were detouring to the forts."

A) "Then we should show that that trebuchets are obsolete in our times! Bombard the city!"
B) "Clearly they know we're a formidable force - I will write them a letter to show that we're reasonable as well."
C) "Tighten the ring of siege around the city, we will starve them out."

You decide to write a letter to commanders of the forts, asking them to surrender.

Quote
5*

Your letter has the best consequences it could have; the comamnders were supporters of the Cydwyl and weren't going down in a fight, but their more reasonable subordinates formed a conspiracy and within a day, they killed their superiors and shown the white scarf of surrender.

The two forts are now yours!

After the garrisons are swapped and most of Cydwyl officers cuffed for security reasons, your own officers convene with you.

"We should capture the nearby city of Ynwall as well, it's just half a day away from here."

"Why go for the small fish?" One other says. "The road leading north and west from these forts leads straight to the Cydwyl heartlands; fertile farmlands and the capital itself! We should move out at once and capture the cpaital ourselves!" Other murmur and shake their heads, because this way your Army would be bypassing most of Cydwyl forces.

You decide to...

A) Hold the ground and the forts for inevitable Cydwyl counter-offensive.
B) Take the risk and march into the heart of the Kingdom of Cydwyl itself!!
C) Move on to Ynwall and capture the fortified city as well.

You send horsemen against horsemen.

Quote
6

They return after few hours with only a handful men and horses missing; according to their commander, they caught the Cydwyl cavalry by surprise when it was taking a break. The chaos of sudden strike sent most of them flying, and those who didn't run got ran down by your horsemen!

By the next morning, your Army has both forts surrounded; half of Blackheart force per fort is deployed and your officers ask what now.

A) Just start shooting, I wanna hear them thunderblasts already!
B) Send them an offer of surrender, maybe they're cowardly enough to take it.
C) Besiege them the normal way, to kill the time.

You decide to assault the forts.

As the Blackhearts - and your Army - move toward the twin forts, officers and scouts bring news.

"My liege, we have detected horsemen movement, attempting to get to our flanks. What are your orders?"

A) "Bombard them with Blackhearts, scare the horses into rout!"
B) "We set up camp and prepare to defend ourselves!"
C) "Send our own horsemen against them whilst we continue toward the forts."

You decide to lead troops personally.

Congratulations! Yoe embarks on another campaign!

1081 AD, Autumn

Your troops deploy to the Cydwyl border, again the Blackhearts and their crews taking forever to get there. There's no activity there, but your officers believe that your northern neighbours are paying attention to your movements with their own scouts.

Scouts report that there are two small outpost in northeast, and a fortified city further north from your position.

A) Let's make example of the smaller forts. To the northeast!
B) Let's crack open that big city to make a big impression. Northwards!
C) Let's seek some other targets elsewhere. We're going northwest!

You decide to go to some conquering.

Your officers meet with you at a council, during which the Marshal asks the obvious question:

"Will you lead us to death or glory, my liege!?"

A) Nah.
B) Yea.
