You decide to meet with the envoy after the guards check him.

After being told by the guards he isn't carrying concealed weapons, you meet with the nevoy.

"I bring an offer of profitable alliance with my Dahnian masters, King Yoe." He says in hushed tone.

"Strike now with your fearsome Felonsine contraptions against Cydwyl! My King, Daen II, will reward you handsomely if you manage to tie up Cydwyllian forces in the south, whilst he conquers to north."

A) "Agreed, we will go to war against Cydwyl."
B) "Unfortunately, I believe my kingdom is simply not ready yet."

B

Haspen: How much economy do we gain from tax normally per year? (Assuming we don't hike them up)

Just enough to cover your expenses ;v

If you have 8 or more Pop, you get extras.
If you have 1 Pop, you lose money from inadequate taxation.

You accept the offer of mercenary faithful. Battlebrother Angst thanks you, blesses you, and leaves.

The people in question arrive at your capital after two weeks.

1081 AD, Midsummer

A new host of Blackhearts and their operating teams arrive in Methiant! You now possess over twenty of these fearsome siege engines of flame and smoke.

1081 AD, Late Summer

"Sire, there's an envoy from Dahnia who wishes to talk with you."

"Then ask him into the audience room." The guard coughs.

"I meant, he wishes to talk with your privately."

A) "All diplomats are equal, therefore he has to ask for audience."
B) "Alright then, search him and direct him to my chambers."

You raise the taxes.

1081 AD, Summer

Battlebrother Angst from the Cloister of Tech arrives for audience.

"Greetings, King Methiant. I'm here on the behalf of my Cloisterlord, to ask whether you are interested in buying the services of a thousand strong and well-trained men? We know that you pased on previous offer from our brothers in Augas, so if you do not wish to hire more faithful, we will understand and seek our sponsors elsewhere."

You decide to...

A) Hire them monks to boost the Army numbers.
B) Decline the Cloister's offer once again.

Once again you devote money for the welfare of the peoples.

People praise your leadership. Thanks to the generosity you have offered, nobody will starve this year. Citizens of Methiant are now much happier!

1080 AD, Winter

Silver mines, gemstone mines and mineral mines all bring their payloads to your Treasury; the last ones are sent westwards per agreement with Felonsines.

1080 AD, End of the Year

"The latter half of the year was quite peaceful my liege, don't you agree?" The Advisor unrolls the Scrolls of Kingdom Status on your table.

Happiness: 5
Population: 3
Economy: 2
Army: 4

"With the influx of peoples from the east, our settlement project should be brought to conclusion sooner, my liege. The people are happy, at least, although our Economy rating looks rather low. Do you wish to amend that, my liege?"

A) "Naw, we good for now."
B) "Yes, we shall raise tax to increase our revenues next year!"

You decide to provide your people (old and new) with supplies so they do not suffer.

1080 AD, Summer

The snow is no more, but the water has done its course. Farms are ruined this year, meaning that little will be harvested, and people are already going about hungry, many not even wishing to think about autumn and the upcoming winter.

Of course, people once again turn toward you in hopes their mouths will be fed.

A) Nope, their mouths will remain empty.
B) Once again, I shall feed them.

You agree to the deal.

1080 AD, Mid-Spring

Already hundreds cross the now-open borders to your lands, and even the weather (blizzards giving away to rain by now) aren't dampening their spirits.

He he.

In the other news, flooding! Farmlands and valleys are covered with water as the heavy snow melts and create brooks and streams where previously there were none. Many areas are affected and governors call for aid!

A) And the Crown will answer! Send them money and supplies at once!
B) My thoughts and prayers to the affected people, the Crown stands by their side daily.

You ask whether King Aun would be interested in paying you for that.

"He might be willing to compensate you with money if he sees that you're truly taking the hordes into your lands."

A) "Sure, it's a deal then. Homeless from Ceodwell are welcome here!"
B) "Naw, I want real money if I'm to take some poor scum in. Begone!"

9296
You conclude the campaign and begin a trek through snow back home.

Congratulations! Yoe concludes his campaign!

1079 AD, End of the Year

You were sipping wine while looking through the windows at the blizzard going crazy outside your palace, and then the Advisor brings in Scrolls of Kingdom Status.

Happiness: 3
Population: 2
Economy: 3
Army: 3

"My liege, the revenues from silver mines were lost, although gemstones and tax got us some profits to counter the ongoing settlement project."

You ponder the possibilities but will all those 3's, you don't see any good choice there.

1080 AD, Spring

People are alarmed.

The heavy blizzards and snowfall continue despite the time of year requiring the snow to melt and the weather to give away to winds and spring rain. Messengers from elsewhere report better weather and Frostlings being dealt with; Cydwyl especially managed to destroy their horde as fast as you.

You also receive a messenger from Kingdom of Ceodwell.

"Good King Yoe," he begins, "The lands of my master have recently received an influx of migrants from Gubta and the Kashite, and the streets and alleys of Ceodwellian cities swell with homeless. He has heard that you're building new villages across your land - mayhaps you could take some of the homeless to your lands?"

A) "No, we don't need easterners here!"
B) "Is he offering anything in return?"
C) "Sure, we've shortage of peoples anyway."

9297
You send another expedition out.

1079 AD, Late Winter

Though the blizzards continue to blast the land!

Many men freeze to death and even you catch a fever and cold that puts you under blankets.

After several days you get better, although healers believe you should stay in the tent, near the brazier fires.

Finally! About three days after your bout of fever, the expedition returns; only half of the thirty men return, and they failed to venture far into the mountains. No Frostlings were seen, but they felt uneasy and weren't able to sleep well during camp time.

A) Clearly something's afoot. We should stay around for another month.
B) Let's get out of here before the snow covers us all!

9298
You send an expedition of soldiers to scour the nearby mountains for any sign of Frostlings.

1079 AD, Midwinter

The expedition returns, short of few men; they have found no more Frostlings, although the heavy blizzards persist and your agents report that elsewhere the walking dead are still causing trouble.

During a council with your officers, you decide to...

A) Camp around the mines for another few days.
B) Conclude the campaign.
C) Send another expedition, this time further into the mountains, and wait for their return.

9299
You order the soldiers to attack!

Quote

Your men ride and run against the Frostlings, meeting them in the fray. There's no retreating as the soldiers hack, crush, trample, shoot and slash at the frozen zombies.

After about an hour it is done - the Frostlings are destroyed! You have suffered about one casualty per slain undead.

Your scouts report that there were only a couple of Frostling bodies in the silver mine, which means that Blackhearts aren't particularily good anti-personnel weapon.

With the battle finished, you decide to...

A) Conclude the campaign.
B) Stay around for few days while scouts check the surroundings for any remaining Frostlings.
C) Stay around for few weeks while an expedition goes up the mountains to search for any remaining Frostlings.

9300
The roar of the Blackhearts is rather thunderous, and provides much smoke.

By the time the salvo is finished, the Frostlings have almost approached your position!

A) It's time for soldiers to chaaaarge! CHARGE I SAY!!
B) Retreat with the cannons while horsemen and archers harass the approaching corpses away from you!
