flabort where's you :V

I need your action.

9482
You order the siege to begin anew.

982 AD, Late Summer

The siege continues.

982 AD, Autumn

News from the north - one of the cities has surrendered to the Dahnian forces. Some hardline heretics were dealt with, and part of the Dahnian soldiers were stationed in the city while your own are leaving the capital to establish themselves there.

Exactly six mornings after that, your soldiers report that a man wearing white scarf of truce has left the safety of Luathbas' walls. Must be their envoy.

A) Kill him!
B) Turn him away.
C) Let him into your tent under guard and after a thorough body search.

9483
It's been almost a week since my latest update, guys.

9484
You leave your heir Atan in charge of the siege of Felonsein and leave with some guards for Luathbas instead.

After a week, you're with the forces at Luathbas. You can see the Pantheonist militants, wearing holy symbols instead of crests of your Duchy, mingling with the soldiers. Your commanders detail you the situation; nine hundred were lost in the reckless attack, but by now the enemy must be very low on supplies.

A) Splendid, a good moment to launch a crushing attack!
B) Then continue the siege, we're almost there.

9485
No need to worry, Estwalf has spares with his 2nd wife and of course Ulan's coming back this year for sure '<.

You order the siege to begin.

Banners of King Eón have arrived in the north, say the reports! They've taken to chasing around heretical rebels, and the main force under the lead of Duke Genann, a renowned military commander (and son of the man who helped you get the Duchy of Tven), is laying siege to two large cities.

Your siege continues uneventful in the meanwhile.

982 AD, Midsummer

Pantheonist rabble has joined forces with Feodh!

The clergy preached amongst his troops to lead an assault on the city and kill the heretics. Unfortunately, Feodh caved in to their demands and launched an attack...

He died of his wounds three days later!

All of the Duchy mourn the passing of your brave son, and the Pantheonists have declared with haste that their deities saw fit to put him into the 'Hall of Heroes', commemorating his name on the feast calendar.

The commanders of Feodh's army quickly send for you to give them commands or a commander. You decide to...

A) Send Atan with explicit orders to not listen to clergy.
B) Leave Atan at Felonsein with your Army and join the depleted forces of late Feodh to coordinate the siege personally.
C) Tell them to continue the siege and don't make new attacks till the city gives in to hunger.

Just head's up - updates only after all 6 players post. Plan accordingly ;v

Chapter 1: Road to Ardallone

Having journeyed for six days and six nights, the group wandered into the small village of Bianco, whose people spoke of strange noises in the nearby cementery, which has become a dump for plague victims. But when asked about direction of Ardallone, the ever so helpful peasants said:

"To get to Ardallone, you must follow the road through the corpse dump and then by the old necropolis of the Romans." Yet some said, "Through the dark forest to the west, the shortest route to Ardallone leads."

But then the clouds began to thicken and the sun hid behind them, causing the day to turn into a greyish state...

Segment A: Fields of Plague

The group was nearing an old, dead tree. A lone raven was perched atop it, staring down at the travellers.

Dunno, haven't played it yet :P

You order them to proclaim Atan as your successor in the more or less likely case you pass away.

They set out to inform Atan and others right away.

You slip into the darkness...

Ah, what a nice morning it is! The healers bring you your soup and you sit up, feeling much better than yesterday. The healers continue to feed you herbs and tinctures, of course, but soon everyone in the camp knows that you got better.

By next day, you're reaching Felonsein along with your forces. The orders are for siege, but some officers believe that an attack is viable; the nearby forest can provide much lumber for siege engines and the city itself is smaller, has shorter wall and overall is less protected than the fabled fortress of Luathbas.

A) No, let's stay with original plans and surround the city.
B) Yes! Let's construct siege engines and break into the city!

9492
You decide to assault the city of Felonsein next.

982 AD, Late Spring

But six days later, while you're almost at Felonsein, you catch a fever.

Sickness ravages your body; the old age, the exhaustion, a simple infection is the cause for this? The fever worsens and you feel terribly weak, so much that you're carried around for a while.

The healers double and triple their efforts, but the fever continues to pin you down rather strongly. Some believe that it was reckless to get involved in your age.

"My liege? My liege. You're awake, that is good." One of the healers smiles to you and makes place for trio of officers, including the Marshal.

"MY LIEGE!... You're in a sorry state. Some of the lesser men speak that you might be dying, and that you still have not established a clear line of succession. What we ought to do if you pass?" You decide to...

A) Order them to proclaim that you make Atan, your currently eldest son, as the heir to the Duchy.
B) Order them to proclaim that you make Feodh as your heir, because his martial skills are much needed by the Duchy now.
C) Cuss them out for assuming that you're on your deathbed, while you're obviously not, and tell them to wait through the night.
D) Order them to proclaim that you send the Ducal coronet to the King Eón, requesting he himself picks the next Duke.
E) Order them to proclaim that the crown is to pass to King Salus, your true eldest son, so that two realms will be brought together peacefully.

Died for fifth time and gave up on the game for now.

I can't get through fast enough, hearts run out too fast for subweapons, and THERES TOO MANY DAMN GIANT RAVENS ON THE WAY TO INSIGNY VILLAGE.

Am I supposed to grind here or something? I'm lost, because I like the game but the difficulty level is so unforgiving in the unfunny way.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A letter is sent to your uncles - taking a more aggressive approach, you skip the pleasantries and demand that they pay for their subjects' rebellious behavior, or there will be consequences.

You then march your Army into Uidach.

Upon the sight of your forces entering the city, the people in it surrender to your rule and Singularist heretics are quickly called out. Many convert or pay money to be left alone, although few strong-headed ones are executed.

Few days later you get a message from your son, Feodh.

The Acceptants of Luathbas tried to mount a counterattack to dislodge the siegeing force, but Feodh managed to rout the enemy and resume a tight collar around the center of heresy.

A week passes.

City of Uidach is secured, soldiers rested, supplies procured and so far there was no reply from Ceodwells, nor the Pantheonists. Your officers grow weary, suspicious, or both. A council is hosted to determine the course of action.

A) We shall loiter in Uidach for a week more.
B) Time to march and help Feodh besiege Luathbas.
C) Time to swing through south and besiege the other Acceptant fortress - city of Felonsein.
D) Let's march the Army to the border with Ceodwell and send another letter to your uncles.
