You swear to rebuild the Grand Temple of Luathbas when this is over plus try to convince your son and his Lametanian court to accept Pantheonism as equal amongst Singularist and Damedian faiths.

The envoy looks pleased as he leaves.

Congratulations! Estwalf embarks on another campaign!

Within five days, you join with Atan and Eidach's troops. You speak with both of your sons, ciding Eidach for his foolishness just a little bit. Eidach praises Atan's skills so far, as lately they had skirmished with a fifty of mounted Singularists and Atan's forces scored a victory against them.

"I put my forces under your command though, father. What are your battleplans?" Atan steps forward too.

"And I have to speak with you about matters of succession, father. Will you appoint me as your successor? It's clear Ulan's not returning!"

As for battleplans...

A) We will continue chasing after Singularists and pressing them into skirmishes whenever possible.
B) Let's send them an offer of amnesty if they lay down arms, even if fanatics are unlikely to surrender.
C) A small troop of horsemen will harass them, while we make haste to help Feodh besiege Luathbas!

As for succession matters...

A) Fine, let's officially appoint Atan as heir of the family to settle the issue.
B) Time to scold Atan for being a pessimist. Surely, Ulan's about to return this year!

//No split votes pls.

Don't we have the option to reject?

You decide to stop sitting at the rear and finally join the conflict of religions. The ecstatic messenger leaves to inform Atan.

Before that, you let the Archpriest's envoy come in.

"Greetings, Grand Duke of Estwalf, the Lizardslayer, the Master Tactician, the Good Ruler of Tven! The Archpriest offers the assistance of Pantheonist warrior-priests and the support of the faithful."

"For what in exchange?"

"There are several things you could do to convince the Archpriest..." The envoy then lists several ideas, and you come up with a couple your own...

A) Convert to Pantheonism along with your family.
B) Make Pantheonism a state religion in place of Singularism and/or its derivatives.
C) Promise to rebuild the Grand Temple of Luathbas, which was ruined in early 900s.
D) Agree to donate money to the Pantheonist temples for next three years.
E) Persuade Lametanians to finally accept Pantheonism in their lands.
F) Accept Pantheonist clergy into Army ranks, allowing for religious units to be formed.
G) ...or just decline the offer.

//Pick 2 options. Bolded options will tickle the Archpriest extra good! Pick just 'G' if you wanna reject the whole thing.

9544
You let your son's messenger speak with you first.

"Sire! Prince Atan asks that you come and join the fighting personally. Your experience, reputation and charisma will make the army unstoppable."

A) "ABOUT TIME!"
B) "Alas, I rather stay at home."

9545
You send a letter to the court of Ceodwell, demanding of your relatives that they don't meddle in your affairs.

Once again, Eidach suffered defeat, and once again, he suffered terrible wounds!

The healers barely kept him alive, and he has lost feeling in both his legs and his loins. As a cripple, he will never be able to fight personally again!

While he is resting and under care of medics, Atan was made the new commander in charge.

The next morning, the guards tell you that you have two guests awaiting at the gates.

"One is representative of the Pantheonist Archpriest, and the other is messenger from your son, Atan." The first audience belongs to...

A) Your son's messenger.
B) Archpriest's envoy.

9546
You declare emergency mobilization, citing the need to bring order to the chaos of this religious war.

892 AD, Spring

Largen umbers of trained youth were sent to aid Feodh and Eidach.

The Spymaster appears by your side one evening.

"Any news about Ulan?" You pre-empt the Spymaster but he shakes his head.

"None. I bring other important news though. My men have managed to obtain evidence, or, rather, interrogate some captured agents of Ceodwell, suggesting that he is willing to or already is send arms and men to the Singularist cause." You surmise that would explain why the Singularists are converging in the south-east.

A) Time to inform Eidach about possible reinforcements or supplies coming from Ceodwell for the Singularists.
B) Let's keep this information to ourselves for a moment.
C) Send a message to your uncles, demanding they not get involved in this.

9547
You admit to Atan that you've overlooked him, but no more - he is sent to assist Eidach, whose skill might be hindered by recent wounds. Atan thanks you for this chance and leaves capital with haste.

The recent piles of battle reports come from all over the south; the Acceptant hordes were split in two, and now occupy Luathbas and Felonsein cities, while the Singularist militia have been coursing through countryside, evading your Army while looking for safe haven to rest and recuperate. Eidach and Atan are chasing them, while Feodh has concentrated his forces at Luathbas, the larger and more important of two strongholds.

In many skirmishes of recent weeks however, they lost quite some troops - well past three thousand mark. And, of course, some of your populace suffers; either by being trapped with extremists or having been killed in raids by the rebels or militants. That doesn't do well for people's moods.

A nice change from this war chaos happens when the Advisor appears with Scrolls of Kingdom Status.

"Recent warfare has brought our Army score considerably, my liege. Mayhaps it is time to get masses involved and call up an emergency mobilization?"

A) "Definitely."
B) "Nope!"

You send Feodh off to fight, and he eagerly rides south with his companions and aides.

981 AD, Winter

Damdamian caravans have finally reached the Tven capital and much trading is done.

Despite the higher tax, the people of Tven are willing to pay lot to get their new glass items; this lifts the spirits of the populace and fills your coffers a bit.

A day later you receive report from another big battle, again against the Acceptant masses; what they lack in tactics and equipment they make with large numbers of zealous followers.

Unfortunately for them, Feodh paid heed to your words and delivered them a crushing defeat without getting himself into any risks.

981 AD, Midwinter

Money from gold mines and gemstones from dwarves arrive at your palace.

Feodh continues skirmishing against Acceptants while Eidach healed well enough to lead his men against the Singularists who dared raise arms against a loyal Tven lord who refused to support their holy cause. This incident unfortunately cemented hostilities between the Duchy, the Singularists, and the Acceptants. Nothing good will come of that.

981 AD, Late Winter

"Father, both my brothers are fighting in the field." Atan pops into your chambers while you're reading battle reports.

"Why I am not leading men? Do you think of me being worse than the other two?"

A) "Yes, you simply have no skills to lead an Army. Return to your studies."
B) "No, go and help Eidach, surely he will appreciate your help."
C) "No, because with Ulan's disappearance, I shall make you my heir, and I can't risk losing you too!"

9549
You send the Army, under the leadership of brave Eidach, to quell the fighting and punish both sides for stirring war and death inside your territories.

In the next ten days, the Army reaches southern cities and gets involved in no less than four skirmishes, winning them all.

981 AD, Mid-Autumn

The Army continues to battle both Singularists and the Acceptants.

A messenger came from King Salus; the Damdamians will send their soldiers to ensure the safety of their caravans, but they're going to tax their glasswares higher this year to pay their soldiers.

981 AD, Late Autumn

A report frm the south! Eidach's troops have waged battle against two thousand of Acceptant rebels.

The wounds to his gut and his legs have rendered him unable to fight and lead for the time being, and healers aren't sure if he will be back to health this year.

"Father!" Feodh shouts after learning the news about Eidach's misfortune. "Let me replace Eidach as leader of our Army! After all, the tutors said that in combat and tactics I'm second best! Surely my martial skills are satisfactory to you?"

A) "No, my commanders will take care of the fighting, you're too young."
B) "Sure, go ahead and be more careful than Eidach, please."
C) "I've already risked one son and can't risk another. Instead, I will lead my men!"

9550
You decide to help Eidach a little by sending a letter to King Eón, asking if he approves of the relationship.

Few weeks later you receive a reply that he does approve of it, and your son begins courting of fair Isfe.

981 AD, Midsummer

Blessed be fates! Your wife has given birth to another child. Seems that nature works even if you visit Ygwylla's cold bedchambers once a season. The boy is healthy and well, and your wife names him 'Gavan', after her grandfather from mother's side.

981 AD, Autumn

There's an Acceptant uprising in the south!

The Acceptants, not willing to continue being targets of Singularists, have procured aid from some of ex-Luthian nobles, and armed themselves. The whole thing began with burning of a Singularist temple in the city of Adwychaenn, and currently Singularist militia and Acceptant masses are duking it out on the streets of cities like Airach, Luathbas or Felonsein.

This whole thing might turn very ugly very soon, if nothing is done. You convene with your advisors and officers.

As for emergency measures...

A) Let's declare emergency mobilization!
B) Let's keep the masses out of it for now.

As for the strategy against the uprising...

A) The Army will be sent to stop the Acceptant rebels from setting your Duchy on fire.
B) The Army will be sent to support the heresy against Singularist militia (since when they're allowed to have militiamen in first place?).
C) The Army will be sent to battle both sides of this religious conflict, to make sure both sides get equally punished.

As for your participation...

A) VERILYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!
B) Naw, no need to get involved personally.
C) How about I send Eidach, who was recently praised by his tutors as being prodigy in all things martial?

You send the Army to destroy the bandits.

They deal with them splendidly. Those who aren't killed flee across the border back to their Kiwi homeland.

981 AD, Summer

"He wants what?"

"Your son Eidach wants to marry sister of King Eón, Lady Isfe. She is eleven years older than him."

"Is he mad? King Eón won't let him, plus she is too old for him."

"Could be a step toward closer ties with your liege, however."

A) "That's a point... we could send a letter to King Eón explaining him that Eidach is enamored with Isfe, and see where that goes."
B) "Well, if he wants to pursue a woman, then he is free to do that, just without my help."
C) "No! Just no."

9554
You publicly proclaim that Acceptant heresy is welcome in Tven just like any other faith is.

980 AD, Midwinter

Since your proclamation, there has been some loud complaining form southern cities and even violence toward Acceptant heretics, but the city guard remained loyal to you and had investigated and arrested the violent ones.

Nonetheless, this sours the mood quite a lot in the Duchy.

Time to agree these look fine for now.

Bandits have appeared into the westlands!

The sore state of the Kiwi has forced many their peasants to take up a life of a thug to provide for their loved ones. Unfortunately these bandits began to spill over and cause trouble in western Luathbas, the largest such group numbering about hundred. You decide to...

A) Send the Army to squish the bandits into fine paste!
B) Send a letter to King of Kiwi, requesting they clean their mess!
C) Send a letter to the bandits, offering them amnesty if they become your subjects!

9555
You agree to set up a deal with the Damdamians basically for free. What follows is lots of letter writing and hearing lots of praise from the somewhat distant Dahnian court.

980 AD, Winter

A heresy sweeps in the southlands of Tven!

It turns out that many of Pantheonists from old Luathbas are clashing heads with the more and more strict Singularists, and the product of it was Acceptant heresy. Preached at first by elderly Singularist priest who converted, Suis of Einvad, within last year the heretical movement had reached almost ten thousand followers in the southern cities.

Acceptant heresy preaches that the Singularist faith had forgotten its roots, and had eschewed the tolerant and open-minded tendencies of many orders and temples of Pantheon, instead steering into totalitarian bent like the xenophobic Cult of Damed. 'Acceptants' are more accepting (hence the name) to those of different faith, different preferences for love, foreigners from different places, as well as happily allow Hurthling and Dwarven worshippers and even acolytes (not that many join, though).

The heresy has reached enough momentum and voice that it threatens stability in the southern cities; that's why the mayors have sent a collective letter to you, asking for guidance and/or support. You decide to...

A) Keep the throne away from fundamentalist skirmishing.
B) Send the Army to quell the heresy before it throws the Duchy into religious war.
C) Proclaim that the heresy is welcome in Tven, just like any faith has been thus far.
D) Send an open letter to the heads of heresy, asking them to preach a bit quieter.
