Suddenly, the framed paintings popped off the walls - one striking Shaelynn on the forehead! - and fell onto the floor, revealing long thin crevices underneath them.

In the same moment, a group of armed men blocked off one side of the gallery!

"Kill'em all!"

~~Player Turn 1~~

Objectives:
Kill all enemies.

Enemies' stats are here!

The old man led them through a small hall to a long gallery, filled with many portraits, quite possibly of the Bonefaz family. About three fourths of them wore Troian fashion of black, purple and orange - the rest wore the grandiose blue and golds of the Reich.

"Please enjoy these fine paintings. I will go ask my Lord whether he wishes to see you in his study or in the dining chamber." Equally slowly as before, the old butler moved out of the gallery, leaving the group along with the large oil painting on the walls everywhere.

"Uh, sure." The guard then entered the manor.

Minutes passed, before he came back with elderly man in tow.

"I am Thom, the house servant of the Bonefaz. Please leave any horses outside, and come with me, Sir Archibald agreed to see you." The guards opened the gate a bit wider as the old man already went back inside.

You order your troops to cause some ruckus and draw some lizardmen out of their camp.

Quote
3*

At first, they draw out about thirty of them... but then, with lots of snarling and roaring, the rest of the camp moves toward the ruckus-making soldiers! Your men are confuzzled about how did the lizards spot their companions in the underbrush, but-

Here they come in numbers!!

Quote
6*

Fortunately you manage to regroup your men at once and your whole army is at your disposal!

A) Salvos of arrows and axes and javelins and whatnot first to thin them out!
B) Send the heaviest and strongest men to meet with the brunt of the lizardmen cohort!
C) Half-encircle the rapidly approaching lizardmen and engulf them from all sides next!

You declare that you will lead the Army to its glory!

Congratulations! Duke Estwalf embarks onto a military campaign!

The Advisor and the Duke's wife will deal with the matters at home while he will leading the Army.

959 AD, Late Winter

Your forces arrive at the latest site of destruction by the lizard people who seem to not be distraught by the harsh winter weather.

The scouts report a force of two hundred strong ahead: The lizards are hunched, with thick arms and almost no visible necks, their heads triangular and huge, with toothy maws, and they wield clubs, large stone-axes or just bags filled with round rocks, presumably well-suited for throwing.

You have over three thousand troops with you - do you need any tactics?

A) Let's just smash head-on into the lizard forces!
B) Have groups few hundred strong attack from all sides.
C) Cause a ruckus and draw some of the lizards outta their camp.

However, is that 2050 date a date when Earth goes explody? Or is it gonna be a gradual but inevitable deterioration of, I don't know, atmosphere or something?

You call up the Army and the soldiers of King Tinwulf to prepare for war!

The Marshal stands up during the war council and asks the obvious question: "Shall you join us in the campaign against the monster horde, my liege!"

A) *HOLD SWORD ALOFT AND SAY* BY THE POWER OF MY SWOOOOORD.
B) Uh no, pressing matters force me to stay at the palace this time.

9942
C
They probably should have done this to start off with.

Duchy was shorter ways to their lands :P

You direct them to your senior, King Tinwulf, because only he can give them troops if he feels like it.

The diplomats murmur between each other, then thank you collectively and leave in a hurry.

959 AD, Winter

Your wife has given birth to a boy! His name is 'Salus', and he will succeed you as Estwalf II, unless you screw up like your predecessor did.

959 AD, Midwinter

Loads of refined, polished copper and malachite crafts arrive at your Treasury, dink dink dink!

You receive news that your senior, King Tinwulf II, has declared that the matter of holy war of Eist against southern kingdoms is not going to be an affair of Dahnia or Tven or Hel peoples.

Few days later, you receive a report of sightining of lizardmen! They have appeared at the base of the mountains where the funky Rainbow Lizards dwell. Their hissing, guttural language is totally alien, and the savage humanoids have a penchant for destruction and human meat, as your outlying settlements had learned first-hand.

A) A plague of lizardmen out of nowhere? We should call upon a Wizard because it's clearly the work of supernaturals!
B) Maybe we should send money and trinkets to the lizards to placate them?
C) Ah yes, our Army would use some target practice. To arms!

9943
The delegation of sixteen men bow their heads, and they recite their names and the names of their kings and domain.

"As a coalition of opressed by the Eistian zealots, we ask for a mercenary force of troops so we can thwart this invasion before it gains momentum. Our monarchs will pay you well, even for several years if you only help us defend our freedom."

"Who knows," says one of them enigmatically, "today its us, tomorrow its Tven!" You decide to...

A) Politely refuse to get involved.
B) Muster up and men against Eist we go!
C) Direct them to your senior, King Tinwulf II.

9944
Waowah, I'm glad I didn't really join.

So many applicants ;v

9945
You agree to marry Lady Stela of Lametania!

959 AD, Late Spring

The marriage of yours with Stela is attended by 2500 spearmen and about 600 light cavalry that has just arrived from Dahnia to help protect your borders better. Their orders are to leave for home before Summer next year.

959 AD, Autumn

After a rather uninteresting Summer, the start of Autumn is filled with war cries and army trumpets. It is because Kingdom of Eist, with a new zealot of Pantheon on the throne, King Seif, has declared that the faith is endangered by the more or less radical cults of the lesser kingdoms in the south.

The coalition of few such petty monarchies has sent a delegation to your court, asking for audience.

A) Toss them out lest we get involved with the Eist and their holy war.
B) Let them in and hear what they have to say.
