Nevertheless, fuck the Kiwis.

Kiwis are also family because Beren the Bard married one of the 'nieces', making his heir Eitwelf and Merachd's cowardly grandfather... cousins of some sort. Third cousins?

Definitely a tiny fraction of relation but still relation nonetheless!

Elves! Luckily we're not blood-related

Houlandin III was 1/2 elf, Igrid was 1/4 elf, Ainach was 1/8 elf, cowardly grandfather 1/16, sickly father 1/32 so that makes Merachd 1/64 elf.

You tell him to be gone and don't accuse your wife of such things.

She later thanks you, a lot.

957 AD, Midwinter

First loads of polished malachite and refined copper and its precious alloys arrive at the Treasury! These fine objects will boost your wealth greatly.

957 AD, Late Winter

Newest censuses from the rural areas show that many children were born this year, especially in autumn and winter; this means that your population increases!

957 AD, End of the Year

While you're looking through the window at the winter landscape, the advisor shows up with Scrolls of Kingdom Status in his hands.

Happiness: 4
Population: 4
Economy: 4
Army: 4

All these look quite nic-

"My liege, I have to remind you that according to the Treaty of Irem from year 908, we're obliged to pay a tribute to the Kings of Dahnia every five years. The next tribute is due next winter. Please be mindful of that."

Always there's something to ruin your mood.

958 AD, Spring

Your wife gives birth to another boy! She names him 'Avrast'.

Few days later, on a particularily cold morning, two envoys appear at the gates of your Palace. One is from the King Amabarn II of the Kiwi Kingdom, and the other is from the Tisilenteliya, the elven forest kingdom in the far northwest.

A) Time to talk with the obnoxious Kiwi once again, huh?
B) Let's hear the pointy-eared diplomat first.

Better get there late than explode midway from untested tech.

The group therefore went straight to the estate.

An old building in the Troian style, it was walled and the otuside gate was guarded by trio of spearmen who watched the investigators approach.

"Yeees, how can we help you people?" The middle one asked once the group got to the earshot of them.

You send a courier with the ring to King Tinwulf II, with a letter explaining that it was found in your castle.

The courier returns after two weeks but without any reply from your senior, beyond words of gratitude.

957 AD, Winter

An envoy arrives from the Kiwi. Your wife rather quickly disappears from the throne room.

"Greetings, Grand Duke of Tven!" The envoy bows his head in respect. "I am here to ask, on behalf of my lord and master, King Amabarn II, that you return Lady Tasarina to the Kiwi Kingdom."

"Lady Tasarina is now the Duke's wife." The advisor explains briefly, and the envoy continues.

"We know that, but there is justice to be done! Lady Tasarina is suspected of having something to do with the tragic accident that claimed the life of her eldest brother and the designated heir, Beren, last summer."

"And what kind of accident that was?" The advisor pries, and the envoy answers:

"Lord Beren died from a bundle of poisonous flowers that were brought to his bedchamber by mistake, and Lady Tasarina, with her hobbies of gardening and flowercraft, governed over the Palace's garden just prior to her journey here."

A) "That is a bunch of horse dung! My wife is innocent, begone with you!"
B) "If it is such an important matter, then truly, legal documents and reports of investigations must be shown to me first."
C) "I can have Lady Tasarina returned to Kiwi, but only briefly, and with a detachment of Tvenian guards at her side."

You order the Army to go and smash the bandit horde apart.

They do so rather easily and manage to capture Vagard and other high-ranking bandits in his 'army' who are then summarily executed.

957 AD, Summer

While cleaning one of her wardrobes, your wife discovers a ring!

She takes it to you because it bears a mark of the Prince of Dahnia, a heir to the throne. You're not sure how old it is - could be decades - but it surely has been left there by a wife of one of previous rulers of Tven.

While you don't know how a Dahnian signet ring of such importance would end in a wardrobe of a Tven Duchess, you do have some ideas.

A) Clearly you can use this to undermine the position of King Tinwulf II! Have the Spymaster take the ring and do his magic with it.
B) Clearly it must be a long-lost memento. Let's return it to the Dahnian court.
C) Clearly it's meant to be a gift from the past for your wife. Have the Dahnian mark removed and the ring placed on the finger of your beloved Tasarina.

9986
You order taxes raised for a year.

957 AD, Spring

Your wife has given birth to a boy! She names him 'Savok', and he will suceed you as Merachd II when your life comes to an end - and your senior, King Tinwulf II, won't have any objections against it.

957 AD, Mid-Spring

Banditry is on the rise in southwestern Tven!

The unruly bandits and homeless vagrants have formed various bands, united under a man calling himself 'Vagard'. He is the King of Bandits, people say, and his raiders prey upon travelers who move through the once-safe and secure lands of Luathbas, now ruled by warlords and isolated settlements.

A) Alas, what a small Duke like me can do against such a plague?
B) Bandit King or no, he will die like the rest of the scum when our Army moves in to intercept him!
C) Let's send him money so he moves his hordes southernly or somewhere like that.

It's "Reigns" (or something similar), I think it's on Android?

You swipe right or left on suggestions and your kingdom prospers and your King rules, or all kinds of disasters befall the kingdom and your duder dies horribly v;

You decide to send your own miners and prospectors with supplies to begin mining for ores.

They strike a motherlode on day one! They report that a profitable vein of malachite and native copper were found in a large area, and even traces of silver and lead were present as well. Not only refined copper but also fashionable green gemstones will land in the Duchy's treasury!

956 AD, End of the Year

The Advisor brings you the Scrolls of the Kingdom Status to your bedroom.

Happiness: 5
Population: 3
Economy: 2
Army: 4

"As you can see, sire, our Economy is now faring that well. The profits from mining of copper and malachite and other ores won't arrive until next winter, so may I suggest we raise the taxes on peasantry to procure extra coin, just in case?"

A) "A wise precaution, that. Raise the taxes!"
B) "No, I'm sure we will do fine for a year."

9989
Sell a ring or two V:

9990
You have money and supplies sent to them.

956 AD, Midwinter

A courier sent to the 'prospectors' returns with terrible news - the prospectors are gone! All valuable equipment, plus money, is also missing. Angrily, you have them branded as criminals.

The same evening, the Advisor arrives to talk with you.

"My liege, I saw the report and I think that these charlatans either knew what they're writing about or there are indeed some ores in the place they mentioned. Shall we send our own team of miners and prospectors with supplies and start mining for metals?"

A) "I had enough with those fake ores and veins of nonexistant metals! Shoo with you!"
B) "If you say so, maybe indeed we should throw even more money into that dirt."
