~~Chapter 7: An Unexpected Influence~~

Realizing that a large group was easy to spot and attack, Beatrix, Friderick and Altha split from the group and marched southwards to Blumhart in hopes of foiling their enemies.

The tactic have seemingly worked, because three days later, the main group reached Wyrmpeak.

Ah, Wyrmpeak! Ages ago, a proud centre of wyvern breeding and the place where future Troian Wyvern Generals were raised and taught their skills. Nowadays, after the fall of the Empire and the Wyvern extinction event, the city lost most of its renown except for various smithing venues that profited to nearby iron and steel works.

The estate of Bonefaz, as told Suzanne by a helpful passerby, was in the west of the city. But the group, or rather Suzanne Gregory and Shaelynn really, had to decide - shopping trip or duty call first?

@Kingdom of Spain:

The Spanish attacked across western and southern coasts of France, flooding the French counties with Spaniard infantry.

Others moved towards Portugal and Morocco, to get rid of the two mercantile powers on the shores of Atlantic.

Unfortunately, the Spanish were beaten in both of those lands, and they remained independent for a while longer.

Meanwhile, an attack was launched against Corsica in hopes of conquering the island for the Spanish Crown.

Alas, the Corsicans didn't let Spanish win any battles either.

Kingdom of Spain (+0) vs Rome (+2):

The conquest of Rome ended in failure as well.

The loss of lands caused shortages in supplies for French Army, and one unit in Calais failed from desertion, starvation and disease.

You write a reply in which you demand that they send a more detailed report.

Their messenger arrives with their report soon enough, and you begin to read.

In the report they detail what kind of ores and rocks they've found and also their thoughts on the vitality of the ore veins.

It sounds very smart and very-out-of-your-league.

A) Send them money and supplies, so they can begin the mining operation.
B) Reject their demand and forget about the whole thing.

Sink a battlecruiser at M14.

You decide to host some festivities to commemorate the bontiful harvests.

Everyone had a good time, even the clergy who were very satisfied with the monetary sacrifices onto the altars of their gods.

956 AD, Winter

A report arrives from the south!

Apparently a group of prospectors have found veins of copper and silver ore in the Small Mountains in the south of your Duchy. These prospectors wish for the Crown to provide resoruces and money so they can start mining operations.

A) Demand more detailed report first before you can decide whether or not to provide them with supplies.
B) Reject their demand as you cannot spend more money.
C) Send money and supplies immediately, ore mining can be extremely profitable!

Support rank possibilities considering previous RP and the one at campsite this week:

Siegfried x Gregory <3
Iris x Flora
Cecil x Alissa
Shaelynn x Iris

Possibly in a chapter or three:

Suzanne x Siegfried
Cecil x Gregory

#1:

Possibly a flash game or web game (both?) that had an astronaut traverse a spacious base to destroy his archnemesis.

I think it had a sequel, and its story was that the archnemesis destroyed the civilization but the astronaut kept on with his revenge/quest anyways.

I believe the game was black&white and there was a 'Hydra' boss. The villain's base was comprised of square rooms (lots of them, in fact).

#2:

Possibly a Commodore 64 game.

You were scaling a skyscraper that was on fire, and you had to rescue people from the windows or extinguish fires in those windows so you could move past them. I remember there were flat surfaces that you couldn't traverse easily or not at all.

#3:

Another oldie game; this one had a Conan-like barbarian that was traversing a labirynth made of rooms. The game had a side-scrolling perspective of sorts. What I remember the most was that some rooms had giant pits with a tentacle that could snatch and instakill you if you tried to jump over the pit at wrong moment.

#4:

A single-map RTS where you had Nordic-esque kingdoms. I remember that the leaders had names like Eric or Olaf, and there was a cave with a dragon. Sometimes you could get invades by Russians or Mongols in white armor.

It also had an alchemy/research/magic? screen where you could get new stuff if you gathered enough gold bars and skulls for it.

10001
They're both units, and orders for units are processed from first to last :v

10002
You prepare for the Purification ceremony.

The affected are given powerful sedatives so they fall asleep, and then the house in which they were gathered is burned to the ground. Many of their friends and family members moan and weep at their fate, but Father Zecklinger preaches that this is the best way to cure them and will also grant them a place in the afterlife of Dragon King.

You lose exactly sixty people to the ceremony. Week later it seems that any traces of disease amongst your people are gone, but some began to grumble that you went too far.

Week 11, 1555 CYA

The Asgard's salvation operation has hit a snag; there are two holes in the hull which your people haven't found previously, and therefore it will add several more days if not weeks to make the frigate sea-worthy again.

A) To heck with it, let's salvage what we can from the ship and then burn the hull.
B) Then we will wait few more weeks, dammit! The ship must be re-floated.

10003
You accept the gift and have the Sky Iron Knife placed in jewelled sheath, which you will wear on ceremonies. And maybe into combat, who knows.

People nod in approval and debate your luck; some believe that you were 'Blessed' by Fate* or the God of Luck*.

What could be the other explanation for this?

956 AD, Autumn

The harvest was bontiful and that has urged the population to ask for festivities! Both the Singularist and Pantheonist clergy says it would be decent to honor the One/Gods with sacrifices, and of course people would be happier after the Crown-sponsored feasting.

A) Definitely, we should throw some parties to celebrate the good harvest!
B) Naaaah, we shouldn't spend so lavishly without good source of income.

10004
You accept the offer of Lady Tasarina and prepare a wedding while your reply travels southwest.

956 AD, Summer

You marry Lady Tasarina in a brief Singularist ceremony - a ten minutes long thing - and then have a feast. She proves to be a charming woman of average beauty and outspoken mind.

7*oh what the hell

About a week later, one of your palace servants brings you an item from her grandfather.

A Dahnian by blood, he settled in Tven after the disasterous war between Luathbas and the Republic; apparently, he has taken as a loot a shiny knife from a Damdamian soldier just on the day of armstice. Last winter, as the grandfather was lying on his deathbed, he has asked his family to give this knife to the Duke of Tven as a gift.

Your scholars determine that it is made from sky iron, extremely rare and valuable metal.

Truly this is a very precious gift indeed!

A) And you shall use it as a ceremonial blade to highlight your status!
B) And it will be well guarded in the palace's Treasury!
C) And it will be returned to the servant's family, as you cannot accept such a grandiose gift out of your personal modesty.
