Bad guys can move around to so he might just be wandering around places that you have looked already... What I do when that happens is just leave the guy, or I'll leave the area then come back, that way I have some more enamies while I try and find him again.

Oh and Toady, about that whole insta knowlage thing.
I was trying out sneaking, and it seems as if none can see me unless they get right next to me, then they almost always (about 99 out of 100 times) see me. but thats not the point, what is is that, I went into a shop sneaking and I took half the guys things without him detecting me then left the building while sneaking. I didn't get any message about not having paid(not sure if you do in anycase) but the guy did not yell at me about how I should prepare to die. I went to the edge of the town and then stoped sneaking cuse I wanted to be sure that They wouldn't kill me cuse of stealing sense they didn't know about it(of course that would have been to nice of them). But somhow they did know what I had done and came after me.

Ok... to clear that up... I snuck into a store took the guys stuff without him seeing me and left. When I stoped sneaking everyone around me came at me because they somehow knew that I had stolen his things... somehow.

So thats how it all relates to insta knowlage, and how it needs to be better if you want to theive.

Yes... Afterall do we really know where all our dwarfs had to go when the huge 100+ fortress was abandoned? oh no! there coming here and I've got no food just like the last place!

Well, you see the reason I suggest it be by bedrooms is that a dwarf's bedroom is basicly his house, so free bedrooms would be your free housing, and so having it somwhat based on your free bedrooms(or just your total beds) is baseing it on your fortress's available living area.

After all if you didn't have any place for people to live not many would move there, some probly would anyway but seriously, who wants to move to a place that doesn't have any place for you to sleep aside from the huge mining are you have that you accidently made 7x7+ and forgot to put supports into?

Soapstone beds! Not only are they comfy, they clean you while you sleep!(Must have sweatglands to create suds(sweatglands not included))

Ok, so now that you have fixed the civilwar bug what does happen when a dwarf does throw a tantrum and go insane? does eveyone kill just him? knock him unconsious? what?
