Wait, isn't the Encounter card supposed to match the color? Since Dreamlands is (left) Green/Yellow then (right) Red/Blue?

edit: And I bet I'll end up screwing myself. XD

182
I didn't see any Other World encounter? Just the strip of Other Worlds with my token on Dreamlands. :X

edit: Ahaha, ok. Now you changed it to include the encounter card. XD Guess I went too fast!

Yes yes... moving on. I am indeed really enjoying this right now.

Also, I assume that if I discard Duke to gain my sanity back, I am sacrificing him or something?  :P

No idea, but discarding him would be a really bad move. Like... last ditch effort thing. You can restore your Sanity by 1 for free or pay $2 for full restore at Arkham Asylum.

Also EagleV MAY risk to get a curse, but it's not really worth it IMHO :). The curse is really bad.

So basically we have two choices which are... well, already made I think. But I will wait for the players to make their choice :). Also I think it's safe now to draw the other world encounter for our professor, because nobody else goes anywhere.

Think you confused EagleV with Vanigo. :P

I am assuming that you can only do the encounter of the location you are in already, and that it is automatic, and I have indeed got Duke. So, I assume I can't do anything else?
Yeah pretty much since Deon is the one drawing the cards/rolling the die. But never hurts to pipe up and say something or ask a question.

Looks like Vanigo is the only one who has a choice; whether he wants to interact with Gypsies or not. All the others don't seem to imply any sort of choice.

edit: Also, Tyberix is supposed to draw Two Encounter cards and choose which he wants.

Hometown Advantage - Town Encounter: When drawing location encounters in Arkham, Darrell draws two cards and may choose whichever one of the two he wants. This ability does not work when drawing gate encounters in Other Worlds.

See the little expansion symbol in the lower-right corner of most of those? You want the ones with no symbol.

Good catch! Also Deon, I think the color border determines which expansion.

We're just waiting for Deon, right?

Cook the fish by roasting it over the fire and then eat it before curling up nearby on the broughs of the leanto...
Which have been pulled closer to the fire but not too close. Sleep will come...

He didn't lose it. He just forgot to put it in the flavor text; you can tell because it disappears from inventory and your appetite jumps from 20% to 70%.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Not sure why the thirst/weariness changed as well; those seemed to change randomly sometimes.

190
Are Rusher and Nevyn planning to return?

Repulsion is posting elsewhere; not sure if he's done too.

I'd like to continue! :P

Okay, you persuaded me. We play with no expansions, so it's not in the rules yet: you can reduce any sanity losses by one, but NOT IN THE NEXT GAME ;D.

I will combine further upkeep+movement for faster game, good idea Jack, I missed it.

That was my idea! XD

I'm only 25% nitpicking; 75% helpful! :P

DracoGriffin, I don't think we're playing with the personal story things; those are from an expansion. Also, Strong Mind doesn't work when you spend sanity, only when something damages it.
Yeah, I know... not sure where I'm getting the idea from that we were but at this point, guess it's up to Deon. And yes, that's why I specified Horror Checks (Deon later edited his post after I said that); and Deon didn't specify if I used Shrivelling or not against the Fire Vampire (or if I took any damage, or the rolls.. or much of anything. XD)
We play with no expansions yet. I am already too confused :).
After this game I will start another and will add expansions one by one, to learn them.

Also yeah, you confused me. You obviously used Shrivelling because the vampire has physical immunity, and you power DOES NOT protect you from spending sanity. I double-checked strategy forums.
Strong Mind was changed in Dunwich Horror; an expansion that changed it so it's only for involuntary losses (not voluntary like casting Spells.) Kinda weird if no expansions but include the one that hurts my Ability. :P

Based on Physical Immunity wiki page, it just means any Weapon or Spell that adds a physical bonus provides none of its normal bonus against monsters with physical immunity. Doesn't mean they can only be killed by spells. :P

Also, here's another discussion about it. Basically saying, the investigator finds a means in the environment to kill the monster other than with their magical fists. XD

193
Deon, Vanigo did specify that change btw.

By the way, what happens if I'm in a location with a gate when there's a monster surge? Do the monsters appear elsewhere, or are they just bounced back into the cup?

I was wondering if we could get a ruling on this too. I don't think Deon ever answered it. Poked my noise around google and lots of people are confused by it and declare their own house rules. Up to you, Deon or unless someone else finds a definitive answer.

The best info I found is here: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=5&efcid=1&efidt=324926

Oh forgot, Strong Mind is only changed later in expansion; so again, up to Deon. :P

That's what were here to do in the first game; iron out the details/bugs for Deon while he tweaks the maps/spreadsheets/scripts.

Like I said earlier, some of these personal stories are good to know.

Like Tyberix (Darrell Simmons) gets: Hometown Advantage - Town Encounter: When drawing location encounters in Arkham, Darrell draws two cards and may choose whichever one of the two he wants. This ability does not work when drawing gate encounters in Other Worlds.

And Tyberix, make sure you don't try to seal any gates (or hoard clue tokens) until you get two Gate Trophies or you'll screw yourself by failing your personal story; "The Film is Ruined!" Darrell must immediately discard a Retainer if he has one and may no longer receive a Retainer or a Bank Loan.

I'm in the same boat except I can't have MORE than 5. (6 and I fail my personal story) However, if you succeed or fail, it's permanent. If you succeed Tyberix (I'm sorry, just using you as an example now), then you can gather more Clue Tokens since you can't fail if you already succeeded. (Likewise, you can't ever succeed once you fail.)

(Success is: If Darrell has 2 or more gate trophies, place "There's Your Proof!" in play. Darrel gains a Retainer if he does not already have one. Darrell keeps his Retainer for the rest of the game.
