Yeah, Mandy Thompson (Jack_Bread) has Research; giving anyone the ability to re-roll skill checks. So... in my case, if I had failed anything, Jack_Bread has the option of using it then or saving for later. And based on the text, it's once per Movement phase, once per Encounter phase, etc? Or once per COMPLETE round/turn? Sometimes these aren't worded very well...
It says "once per turn", so it's only once per turn, sorry :). And better warn me in advance if you want to use stuff like that (to avoid backtracking).

I'm trying to clarify that. Finally found it on the wiki:

A turn in Arkham Horror is divided into five phases.

If you notice stuff like this, feel free to nitpick. It's my first forum game, so if you spot any mistakes I will gladly fix them at once.

P.S. Also notice that you have a motorcycle, so it gives you 7 movement points. You can easily collect two clues and go into the shop (for example).

How? It says in the rules that you have to end your movement somewhere to pick up clues, so unless he drives all the way to the woods, he can't get two clues, let alone visit the shop afterwards.

Yay nitpicking!

Yeah, found that on the wiki as well:

To collect clue tokens, an investigator must end their movement on a location or street area that contains one or more tokens. Simply passing through a location that has a clue token is not sufficient to collect it. To collect clue tokens on a location that contains a monster, the investigator must first either evade or fight the monster(s) to collect the token(s).

That just made it even harder for us though...

Deon, for sake of keeping the thread moving and easier to manage; might as well combine Upkeep/Move for players. So if I wanted to change my focus, I'd do it in the same post as my move turn (but cannot change it after you have updated the player's movement).

Also, in case of Mandy Thompson; it should be up to Jack_Bread's discretion since he can use it for himself as well. (Either to be greedy and hoard or try to save it when an other investigator gets into a worse situation than another. E.g., if I failed my evade check with the Byakhee, it's a pretty poor use of the Research instead when someone else might find themselves in a worse roll and really need the help.)

But yeah, can we also get your Abilities/Personal Stories in the character sheets? Something people definitely need to be aware of, not only their own but others. (Like Sister Mary's depends on herself and other investigators getting blessed)

Yeah. Also I double-checked everything, and I forgot to update the 2nd post with the info on the doom tokens (we have 1 from the first gate).

Oh yeah; forgot each phase is played by ALL players. XD

Shouldn't I have been swallowed by the gate? :P

201
No, it'd be fine if it were just 0 and sub-0. But when monsters have +1 Awareness makes it really confusing. I guess those are so unaware you actually are given a bonus. :P

202
Probably me misunderstanding then. I'm probably just mixing the two up. The Fire Vampire seems easier than the Byakhee but, oh well. Live and learn. :P

203
I shouldn't have to worry about Horror checks. Lore is already pretty high so should be able to close gate relatively easy. Shrivelling gives +6, so Fire Vampire should be pretty easy as well. Not only that I have 3 Sneak and Byakhee has bad awareness, but Silver Key can evade that fight.

204
I believe my Sanity should be maxed as well; based on the Strong Mind ability.

205
Well, based on what I read elsewhere, I basically have 3 extra movement for rest of game.

So... I move to Miskatonic University -> Merchant District -> The Unnameable.

Attempt to evade Byakhee; if not, then use Silver Key. Attack Fire Vampire; cast Shrivelling and kill Fire Vampire. Afterward, into the gate!

I then should be able to cast Find Gate; followed by 'Eureka!' since I will have 1 Clue, 1 Unique Item, 1 Monster Trophy and 1 Gate Trophy. I can choose to ignore the Byahkee based on the rulebook until my next turn.

206
I can exhaust Ruby of R'lyeh for 3 extra movement but looks like it's one time use only.

Or... I don't understand that card either. It doesn't mention anything about exhaust/discard; just "extra 3".

207
Trying to figure out the best move here and I'm totally unsure what the purpose of the Silver Key is. I wish the pdf file wasn't so damn small; the wiki hasn't been too helpful.

As I asked, could you tell me your GMT free time, Draco, Jack and Repulsion? There's no need for me to know your time zone without knowing your time.

We have now:
EagleV: 8AM-11PM
Ottofar: 8AM-9PM
Tyberix: 7PM-11PM

It means that the desired turn order is Ottofar-EagleV-Tyberix.

Others?

Most of the time is free. :P

Busy 6PM to 2AM -8 GMT. Sometimes.
