He's clearly in a fey mood-we just need to make sure he has access to all the items he needs.  Someone donate a turtle shell!

<hipster>I built one of these before it was cool.  You probably haven't heard of it.</hipster>

Here's the link

It doesn't have the clever interior pump stack method of delivering the lava, but it does have a cool throne/control room suspended in the magma tube.  I recommend this for anyone who is draining their tube to build pumps in it.  That plus a minimap showing where the lava will come out just adds that special touch of detail to this sort of megaproject.

Noo, not in the treasury!  Coins floating around is a disaster.  I think human towns should only pay attention to digging relatively close to the surface.  Dig lower and the will, let's face it, never know the difference.  I believe Ahnk-Morpork is all tunneled under by immigrant dwarves.

It's not a bug, its a feature! Toady has implemented Gazebos.

You must face the Gazebo alone!

You know, I'd be willing to sponsor a geologic formation if we did the same sort of thing that we did with animals...

7
Jiri, sounds like he could go a long way by simply trimming out unused roads, which should be trivial.  This would get rid of the circular shape as a side effect.

8
Mysterious lever

Roll a die. On a 1-5, the intended side gets a +1 - +5.  On a 6, the opposing side gets +6

9
Forgotten sock

Play this card if a player chooses to flee combat.  The character MUST continue to fight.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Plural of "dwarf"

Haha, Tolkien win.   Seriously though, Dwarves was popularized by Tolkien, a professional linguist, because it sounds more...well...dwarfy.  And matches up with other similar words as mentioned above.  Prior to that dwarfs dominated-and still dominate in common language.  I still like dwarves better.  Compare:

Yeah, I reread the devlog and noticed that both were more likely.  Will still be awesome.  Now I must increase my demands, to include..umm...procedurally generated minas tirith and a carcassone minigame.

Cat (level 1 monster)

When encountering a cat, roll the dice.  On a 6, the cat adopts you and becomes a +1 no hands item that cannot be traded, sold, or stolen.  On a 1-5 you fight the cat.  Anytime a card is played on the cat, it produces a kitten (+1 bonus).

Good stuff  1 treasure
Bad stuff  The cat runs off with one item chosen randomly from your hand

That map of Anhk-Morpork reminds me that cities would be way more awesome if they are sometimes placed over rivers.  Actually, given the way things happen in real life, usually placed on top of or next to rivers.

Edit: Also, cities on hills.  Good idea.  Sometimes the accumulated layer of debris actually makes a hill under the city after a few thousand years.

pretty much full of win.  What I like is that it looks big enough to be an actual city.  Most videogame cities are lucky to contain 100 people and a few dozen houses.

I'd like to see variation in the algorithm...which may well be put in, this is only the first run after all...  Have some civs make squared off, grid based cities, and some with these winding constructions.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: How To Farm in 0.31.x (DF2010)

I'd like to see the op topic expanded to include other agricultural pursuits...pastures, birds, & beekeeping.
