EDIT: I'm sort of one of those people that can't enjoy my character unless it is "perfect". I could care less if I fuck up a couple of things, but trying to play a healbot using a DD character is.... not fun. I went and generalized so if someone needs damage, I'm in. If someone needs heals, I'm in. Win win situation. Once I get a 32 point build, I will know what the guild needs character wise and 32 point it.

Well fuck it, what class(s) do you need? I will play this again.... hehe. I ended up deleting all my characters when I last quit because prices went up really high, and I really needed cash on the server I was playing.

EDIT: I have decided on a cleric for now until I unlock 32 point builds. Do you guys want a healbot, a DD, or a mix between the two (Think a jack of all trades that can fire off a heal if need be, can buff if you have a healbot or another healer, but is conservative in mana use and can take a few hits)

I'm okay with Head hosting to be quite honest, cause let's be honest, there's not gonna be much activity for next EVER. aka until people get bored or w/e of DF2010

I am patiently waiting till the lag fix is out.

I am patiently waiting for Dwarf Therapist/Companion/Manager to be updated..... I hate having to manually change dwarfs labors.

Well, to toss in my two pence on this subject:

Head has always been a good host and admin, he has always been quick and courteous when dealing with my adminhelp messages, his server has lagged on only two occasions when I have been online, his behaviour in game has always been good.

The thing is, all Bay12 hosts have been like that for me (Only exception is that Googol's server has always lagged for me, but that's not his fault, so it doesn't matter anyway). So I really don't think we'd have anything to gain from 'banning' an admin from hosting besides losing a perfectly good server.

Well, compared to Johbson, Headswe is an OK host. I mean, Johbson was epic. We had people leaving goon servers and passing up Android's server (SUPA POWAZ) to play on the server just because of how epic Johb was at hosting. I guess everyone that has been on a Johbson hosted server is really spoiled, because you really can't go back without bitching (Yes, this IS why I bitch all the time... hehe) about problems with the host/games/bugs, etc. etc.

It's not locked, zero problems with download too..gonna test what is it now.

upd: 400k errorlog after 3 secs of world generating, but it is not crashing so far.

Lots of work is still needed. TBH, we just need to wait for d#, that release is not intended to be used with gfx, imho.

- Terrain is RantingRodent style
- Dwarves seem to be some weird version of the example dwarf version
- Creatures are just ASCII characters
- I was fiddling with the tile sizes and resolution in the init file, so you may want to change them, a guide is given on how to do that here: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/DF2010:Tileset

I expect someone else with a bit more know how could make something much better!

Mayday's tileset that someone else upped and is now on the wiki:

Yes, that would be better, because when the new DF version comes out, no ones going to hear from me for about week, as flattered as I am.   :P

Only.... a week? I already have a post DF2010 bunker stacked with snacks and soda. I have enough to live for about a month while I play. My teachers will assume me dead or something, and then I will emerge hopefully with a really long beard and catskin clothes.....

Also, how come he gets admin whereas actual members of Bay12 are just ignored?

Hehe, the problem is that once the admins/community get to actually know you, they will never give you admin because they will know of all your problems.....  ::)

Ok, so I am making a well for my new fortress so if I have injured dwarfs, they don't automatically die. My question is this:

I know that in order for a well to work, water has to be at level 3 or higher. Will a well work if it is multiple z-levels deep, but the top z levels water is at level 2?

Example:  _W_
             |222|
             |777|
             |777|
             |777|
              ----
Where |,-, and _ are walls/floors, W is the well, and the numbers are the water level.

So... somehow the 4XX.XX degree bomb I made exploded half the station.... wtf?

I think due to the rather tight station layout, and the optimized atmos code, bombs are now incredibly efficient at taking out the station.

Then why do the 400 degree syndicate bombs only damage (at most) a 20x20 area?
