I used to play. I got bored with the giant lack of content where they wanted you to buy the adventure packs. No thanks.

After taking out the British, the Byzantines, and the Koreans, I attacked the Turks (played by my friend Billy who was at my house). I, being the Goths, have no walls and so if he attacks first I am pretty screwed because from what I could tell his army was probably huge. I send in my scouts, and find that he can see the entire length of the north eastern front of his defenses. I send 70 Elite Huskarls, 24 Pikemen, and 6 Monks to his north western defense where he only has about 40 troops waiting. His north eastern front has at least 80, with more in reserve most likely. I circumvent his north western defense and attack with the main bulk of my troops in the center of his town, whilst attacking his north eastern troops with my 40 Huskarls sent out on a suicide diversion mission. The diversion (sort of) worked and his town was reduced to crumbling pieces of dust. He sent his calvary to attack my main force and they were decimated by the pikemen. His archers couldn't penetrate my Huskarls armor and I sustained very few losses (about 15 of my entire army) as I decimated his foot troops with my Huskarls.

1) Start AoE2 (TC).
2) CTRL+ALT+DEL to task manager.
3) Go to processes.
4) End explorer.exe (this WILL make your desktop and start menu disappear... don't worry it's fixable).
5) Go back into AoE2 (TC).
6) No graphic error!
7) When exiting AoE2 (TC) go back to the task manager and hit new task.
8 ) Type explorer.exe and run.
9) Tada.

It's because Microsofts Aero stuff fucks with older games. You gotta disable aero, and if you don't want to have to run through menus you can just disable explorer.exe. If you really feel like it, make a batch file that exits explorer.exe, initiates the game .exe, and then when you exit the game restarts explorer.exe.

Got a no-cd crack because...

Make sure you have the 1.0c multiplayer no-cd crack, otherwise it will yell at you.

EDIT: Also, if we have a bunch of people that want to play, my internets might crash. That would be bad. A alternate host might be a good thing to look in to.

What would we be using for multiplayer?

Honestly, it depends. Depending on the OS people are using, the game might not let us connect over TCP/IP in which case we would need to use hamachi. Think of it as a big bag of marbles, and you gotta pull out the right combination in order for multiplayer to work. Sadly, you don't know that combination or how many marbles you have. We would most likely be using 1.0c.

I actually tried to set up a lan game between my vista laptop and my windows 7 laptop yesterday, and it took me about 30 minutes to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. At first the games showed up, but I couldn't join them. Then vista could join my game but when I went to play my computer froze. Then neither showed up. Then I could join vista but it wouldn't let us start the game (citing a error that the game disk wasn't in, but it was... good job Microsoft). It finally randomly decided to work right before I was going to give up.

So. I found AOEII and TC expansion in my basement. It's an awesome game, and I haven't played in quite some time. After beating the A.I. many, many times, I am bored. Anyone up for a game?

For those of you that don't know, Age of Empires II (The Conquerors) is a RTS made by Microsoft made in 1999/2000. You control one of 13 (18 with the expansion) civilizations through four different ages. The Dark Age, Feudal Age, Castle Age, and Imperial Age. You can make alliances and attack people whilst trying to maintain an economy and getting to the winning condition, which may one of or a combination of the following: Military Conquest (be the last empire standing (Your allies don't count IF they all have allied victory on)), Relics (control all the relics on the map for a set amount of time), and Wonder (build and keep a wonder for a set amount of time). There is also many different game modes like king of the hill, etc. The game is epic. You can find it for insanely cheap. In my opinion it is much better than the third. I'll add stuff later if people ask questions.  ;D

They have the coolest concept of them all. Even a ... I dont know... rock with a string to it attached, dipped in butter (or anything random and brainless for that matter) should be able to make a killer game out of that concept.
Oh my god, I didn't know anyone else knew about that game, it's so awesome. Getting the right ratio of rock size to butter coverage is so amazingly fun, especially when the termites come into play, but I always had trouble impressing that one last judge.
Absolutely one thing went through my head when I saw this. My thought? "Lolwut? I should read that again for clarity."

I still lack clarity.

Yeah I waited an hour or so after I posted it was unplayable but it only rose to 4 FPS. My computer isn't really old but windows is always eating a massive amount of my CPU for some weird reason.

835
lolg, wait for this next person to respond to my PM. If they don't, go ahead and take it.

836
Yay, I get to cause major disasters.  :P

EDIT: I do know that I will get my turn done within the week, but I probably won't be posting a journal log until everything is done. I have a lot of school work to do and it seems to be more time effective to do a journal all at once.

EDIT2: ARGH!!! I am so sad and depressed. I opened Ardentdikes and saw wondrous things that I could do with it! I hit the unpause button and...... My FPS was 1. 1 FPS. ONE! I am going to have to abdicated and wait until it seems the fort might run at 10FPS+ on my computer.  :'(

Yeah same here. I came home from after school activities thinking I could play Subvein instead of doing homework as usual, but alas, Subvein is down.  :'(

Well Thatdude has about four hours to confirm before we skip him and go to mrbobbyg. Hopefully someone responds  ::)

EDIT: Turn passes to mrbobbyg.

839
Thatdude has about 24 hours to confirm before we skip him..... I sent him a PM already.

840
Save is uploaded and we are waiting for confirmation from Thatdude.

EDIT: Just noticed Thatdude is also playing the UnitedGate succession. He may not make the two day deadline or ask me to delay so I am PMing him.

EDIT2: Changed the savescumming section in the rules since I don't even want to know how many times Trooper had to scum.
