My understanding of christianity indicates that heaven is to be integrated into god, you completely lose your self but god/yourself enjoys the snack...
While Hell is just god not caring about you, whether that means you cease to exist without the support or simply wander around in darkness, or maybe even float around the living, it pretty much has to be preferable for a number of people...

You have a bizarre understanding, RAM. Supposedly, the punishment in hell is the separation from the divine presence, while the reward in heaven is HALLELUJAH.

Granted. On your first visit, you end up on an Earth whose atmosphere never properly developed, and you suffocate.

I wish I had more time on my hands.

Lets find something and stab one of the guards like in order of the stick!

In case there's nothing, stab him with your fist.

He says in the last page that he could carry her.

But in retrospect Annie would have been a little hesitant to go anywhere with him if she knew he was superman.

Annie: stoic emotionless Lois Lane to Jack's creepy, possibly possessed Superman.

Yeah, that probably wouldn't work.

Granted. They are already dead. But horrible, horrible things happen in your life as a result of you misusing your power, and you become Darth Hayden.

I wish my head didn't hurt so much.

DF Gameplay Questions / Re: Armor types/Layering

Breastplates do go over maille, both in DF and IRL (for 14th c. armor).  Greaves do not in DF, though they could IRL.  In this game, greaves happen to protect the whole leg minus the foot, I think.  Breast plates only protect the torso unless you mod it by changing [UBSTEP: 0] to [UBSTEP: 1] .  Then it can protect the shoulders and upper arm like maille can.  The only thing there seems to be no armor for is the face, I think... I could be wrong here.

I believe cloaks cover the whole body, including the face (it might be a bug...)

I know for sure they cover the throat and ears, anyway, since I've got a combat log of it protecting both of those.

Interestingly enough, even hoods don't actually seem to protect the ears, though. They must be strange hoods.

I always assumed that the hoods had earholes cut in them. Which doesn't really make sense, but yeah.

Or, you know, smites her with the wrath of the gods.

He's already delivered the wrath of the gods, that's the problem.

Is this a euphemism for something?

Again, that's due to tooth, hoof, bone, horn, and nail having the same impact values - in other words, being as weak as - skin.

Slipperrryyy slooooopppeee

It's only a fallacy if there is no evidence or history of such a thing happening.  I have provided links above.

Yep yep. That's why I didn't say "slipperrryyy slooooopppeee fallacy". Because from here, the logical progression is to regulate those dastardly murderous rabbits.

...that's why I have the dog.

Then what do you do when they come for your dog because he bit someone?  The same as guns, there are accidental dog bites every year.  Dogs are not all domesticated fluffy love mittens incapable of harming humans.  If you let someone come into your home to take your shotgun, and they turn and tranquilize your dog... what then?

I'll tell you what then.  Nothing.  Because we don't live in a funhouse mirror world where the slightest acquiescence of bared-teeth liberty cascades into childproof slavery.
Sure we do... once they are done with the guns, they'll come after the "next great threat."  If people start getting trained dogs, then the same people that spout rhetoric about guns being only designed to kill will be the same people who claim certain breeds of dogs are only bread to kill.

Makes me think of South Park, oohh sorry, the Mormons were correct.

Or that Rowan Atkinson sketch. "I'm sorry, the Jews had it right." (to a crowd in hell)

Cloth armor is.

Only because teeth are about as soft as skin. Meaning that that wolf's bite attacks? Aren't going through your shirt.

How was it? Covered in Spess Mareehns?

After clearing the area of cyberbears, we set camp and played rummy with some hot pink playing cards.  After that we ate SUPAH BEEF CHILLI and then went to sleep for 20 minutes before being attacked by mole men, who are jokes btw.  Before leaving a volcano erupted nearby so we had to get out of there just in time.

It was good.

(Can you guess how much of this is true?)

Almost all of it, from what I know of /tg/.
