Also AIDS, because it's *impossible* to protect yourself against and you automatically get it if a gay guy as much as breathes in your general direction, or briefly touches your skin with his hand.

And yeah, in my experience, it's always only been gay guys, too. Lesbians apparently can't catch AIDS in whatever universe these people has their head stuck in. I wonder why. ::)

Also the symbol-form of the ::) looks nothing like somebody rolling their eyes. It's just a happy alien. Possibly happy spider.

From what I understand, AIDS is most commonly transmitted through anal sex, which would explain why lesbians 'apparently can't catch' it.

It's most commonly transmitted through semen, actually, not necessarily through anal sex. A male gay couple and a straight couple with an infected male partner are both more likely to infect the other partner than a female gay couple.

That and blood/infected syringes. You can also transmit it by bleeding all over people with open sores or wounds.

Or at least that's what I remember from Environmental Science two years ago.

On Yahoo messenger if you add an = to the ::) it becomes a caterpillar [ =:: )]

At least I think so. I should go try that out.

I think they mostly worry about AIDS because they have no idea what it is. Bigotry is usually the province of the ignorant.

This makes intelligent, collected bigots some fo the most frightening things I've ever encountered.

While enjoyable, I found the expectations that seem to come with it awkward at best and demeaning at worst.

Which expectations?

Secondly, there's a difference between causing it, and furthering it. There are atheist homophobes.

How many arguments against Homosexuality have you heard from either an Atheist or Atheistic viewpoint?

Several. Most of them have to do with "biological imperative" yadda yadda yadda

Or "it's gross", which is slightly better because it doesn't attempt to shoehorn science into their beliefs.

A while back, I modded archangels into 40d. They had horrible eye lasers, razor wings, and looked like this:

Kinda stupid hard to kill though.

I hug pretty much anyone who is more than a slight aquaintance, unless it's unacceptable for social reasons, etc. And I really don't like going for drives by myself, or sleeping with the door closed.

This is pretty much standard practice here, at least with friends of the opposite gender. The other option is the cheek kiss (beso). I think we all just really like touching people in ways that have no intimate component.

Of course you're really unlikely to see two guys hugging each other.

Is this going to be hosted here, or on an IRC thing or somesuch? Also do you allow... automatons?

Like Clockwork Men with full sentience?

Depends on the backstory, dear. :)

Wow. And to think, I thought America was the bee's knees.

It isn't. It's just as rife with problems as the rest of the world, some social, some economic, etcetera. Bigotry is very much alive in the States, as it is everywhere else.

Although compared to the racism my own people tend to engage in, theirs is more "angry racist", while ours is more "condescending racist". It's up to you which one is worse; both can lead to violence.

Hmm. Would you allow use of the Steam-Punk Dreadnaught or...Burglar/ Minor Magician. Also, What are the state of firearms in this setting? still at Flintlocks and Gonnes or are there simple repeaters?

Also Are we allowed to divvy up the Device Power into multiple items (In my case Rings)

Question Edit: 2x Combo: Would Magic Rings use the Hard to lose or easy to lose Advancement cost for Devices?

Sorry I haven't posted in a bit!

Yes, the Device power can be divided up into multiple items; magic rings would be hard to lose (unless they're loose or something), weapons technology is at flintlocks, gonnes, cannon, and crossbows (as well as swords and pikes for gentry and guards, respectively) but simple repeaters and chemical guns that fire shards of poisoned glass, for example, are among what the Circle has released in the past.

The Dreadnaught and Burglar are both doable.

3 typhoons in a row. D:<

This is starting to get stupid and ridiculous. If we get hit by another one I'm just going to stand in the rain and frown at the eye of the storm.

The napalm launcher and acid spitter are good for area denial, but then it turns out that most of the demons you'd need to block off (that is, the ones you can't reliably kill in the first couple of turns) are also either immune to fluids or don't actually need to get within melee range to murder your man-and-a-half's butt.

Watching too much Manny Pacquiao has utterly fractured my english.

Have you ever heard him sing? It's even more damaging.

I'm going to disagree with you there. Religion does not hold the monopoly on romance,
Marriage is at its core, a religious institution.
