Long time no see. Been busy with school and stuff, and also studying some painting things. But I had time for half an hour sketch yesterday : )

I kind of see why, but only kind of... But I'll take that as a compliment!

I couldn't keep away for too long! I had to make another one. This time, more refined and different. I got an idea from something I had in my most recent fortress. I had made some sort of "secret", forbidden monastery full of apprentices wearing what's pictured below. They all have training spears, and have been down there for years, just training. Don't know why I made it, but It seemed cool in concept. Anyways, here:

Just some random schtuffs i've made over the past days, trying to do as many studies as I can, quick ones, hence the messed up faces and shit.

Do any of you have any advice for studies/exercises i can do in drawing/painting?`I just can't seem to get myself together to come up with a plan.

On topic though, I'd say that girls don't really have anything against violence in and of itself, it's just that the way it's presented gives them a feel of " I don't belong here".
When I did my presentation of dwarf fortress I explained that there was violence, glorious gritty violence....but in text form, and that it was mostly optional if you played your cards right. That most of the game focuses on social and political "intrigue", so to speak, makes it ideal for both sexes, provided that enough inspiration and interest can be created in the individual who's going to play.
Dwarf fortress doesn't cater to "boys" or "girls"...It caters to individuals who like this style of gameplay, and certain aspects of the game.

They seemed interested in a lot of the "the sims" ish aspects of the game too, Idk if that makes a huge difference too.
