DF Gameplay Questions / liason not leaving

i have a dwarven liason thats not leaving my fortress. i think it has something to do with the fact that half of  the caravan got stuck on some terrain and then went berserk and got killed while the other half was stuck in halfway in the trade depot so i had to remove the trade depot which caused them to disappear or something.  will this affect my game in any way? or wil he leave the next time the caravan comes.

ive been trying to link a bridge to a pressure plate but its been like half an hour and its not linked yet is it supposed to take this long? i know the dwarf is working on it because i was watching it the whole time but yea..

alright so im trying to build the pressure plate now but i dont understand how to set the thing up

er min(1-20) <== what does that mean
df max (any)(19?)

do these stand for weight or something so if i set min at 1 everything above it (2-20) will activate the plate?

im trying to build a retractable bridge trap over my moat but but before i start id like to know if i can build pressure plates on the bridge itself that will activate causing the bridge to retract and dumping invaders into magma?

also can i hook up more than one bridge to one pressure plate? or lever so that if i activate the lever or pressure plate all the bridges retract at the same time

i know that to tunnel down i just build up and down stairs after making a down stairs but is there a way to tunnel upwards without having to walk to the upper z level and tunneling from a side wall and then down

DF Modding / some help with d13 mod please

when i press "d" it makes it so that wherever my mouse moves to it gets designated as to be dug area.  it happens when i was pressing d- b when i was trying to designate some stuff for mass dumping. now it just happens whenever i press "d" are the hotkeys different in d13 or something?

it might have been some combination of keys i might have pressed but id like to know how to cancel the auto dig designate when hovered over with mouse mode.

i want to start a fortress near a volcano but im not sure how to find it. i mean i know where its located on the region and world map but how do i pinpoints its location on the local map? is it just where the magma pools are?

is it possible to have more than one fortress in the same world or do i have to abandon one before i start up another?

or utility that allows me to delete items when i place my cursor over them. its taking way too long waiting for my dwarves to move items that seem to accumulate in the doorways of my water traps which makes it so that i cant close the gates when i get attacked.

i was trying to move the graphics from  maydays graphic mod d11 to the most recent version of d13 and i had relative success except for one thing.  the interface is kind of messed up.

when i press b or d to build something the stuff that shows up looks something like
)rmor stand (7)
bed ((b
sea (c)18)
door(d)53)
x)oodgate (15)
i mean all the graphics are fine except for the build interface

ive basically moved both graphic folders from the data-> art folder and the raw graphics folder to my game as well as copied and pasted the ini. file over. im not sure whats causing this problem.

if i move the ini interface.txt file from maydays to d13 it crashes the game on start up

can they destroy walls and flood gates or can they only destroy buildings like workshops and doors? the wiki says hatches and doors but do those include flood gates and walls?
